On Saturday there was a new mixed duo set from the deviants Lady Toxica and Zerk. The set is called Fairy Tail and in it they cosplay as Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf.

This week’s Cosplay Cards section I have done update cards for Vivka and Zerk. There is a special cosplay card I have updated, however as it is linked to the Special Project that I have been working on I will be posting it in the next "Gaming with Neoscream" post.

Until next time, Armour Up.

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron SDCC Teaser (2013)

Gaming with Neoscream: 27th September 2013

Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”, the all new weekly gaming post that replace’s the “MK HeroClix”, the “Model Painting” and the “7TV Listings” posts as well gaming news and events that use to be in my “Neoscream’s Life” posts. This week’s post will be a whopper of a post as it is covering almost two weeks worth of stuff. In fact before adding pictures it is just about seven pages on the word processor. I have a feeling this is the biggest post ever on this blog. Each section of the post will have its own introduced for the first two or three weeks.

Gaming News

This is where the weekly gaming news for the games I that I follow and play will be posted. This will not include the news that was release on the day I posted this post (unless it is really big or cannot wait until next week).

First off is the Mantic news. Pre-orders for Loka are now up on their store with sometime in November as the release date, but according to Wayland Games it is out on the 29th of October. However on Thursday there was a post on KickStarter saying that that they are aiming for a November release for KickStarters and is should be out on general release after that. Also pre-orders for Season One and Two team expansion packs were added to their store with a 7th of November release date. Each expansion pack comes with six players that are new sculpts, two prone figures and a keeper if they have one. Still no word on when the KickStarter stuff will be shipped for ether DreadBall, Loka or Deadzone. Mantic has been promoting their new game that is coming to KickStarter, Mars Attacks. The scenery uses the same system as Deadzone zone but will be red brick buildings. They will be able to be combined with the Deadzone scenery. Also by the sound of things the game play will be the same as Deadzone. I plan on picking up some of the scenery and maybe some of the human stuff for 7TV and 7ombieTV. On Monday there was news on KickStarter that they will be starting assembling and shipping the final shipment of DreadBall in the next few days. So they should hopefully have started by the time this post comes out. It normally takes them about two weeks to assemble and ship the stuff and several days to a week to arrive. So I will dealt that mine will arrive for the Tournament next weekend. Oh and gain stores will get the stuff before the KickStarters. Jake Thornton has been busy working planned the future of DreadBall and working on Deadzone. You can check out his blog, there is a link on the “Blogs I Follow” section on the right hand side of the blog.

The new Future Freedom Fighters
Next is the Zombicide news. The KickStarters of Season Two have received their first shipment last week or the week before. Also there is a new mission on their website where the survivors have to get a ton of C4, place them and then detonate them.

Now for the Privateer Press news. Images of next month’s Mercenary Rhulic Colossal, the Ghordson Earthbreaker, are up now and the survey for the Warmachine Tactics KickStarter were sent to backers at the beginning of last week. They have until the 30th of September to be filled in. I filled mine in last week. Also the game is looking great so far.

Next is the Crooked Dice Games news. Greens of two more Future Freedom Fighters were reviled. Billie from Grandville and a PDF version of the new add-on for 7th Voyage, Myths and Monsters, are now in their store. Next week should see the release of the Robo-Minions and the two new Future Freedom Fighters members.

Now for the Mekton news. The delay on news for this was due to problem on page layout. The problems are now fix (or at least mostly) and they have started posting preview pages from the rulebook, however the artwork is in them are just place holders until the real things are finished.

Next is the HeroClix news. This week there was previews of U.S.S. Hathway from Star Trek Tactics III; Skeleton Skullwalker and Shyft Ravager from Mage Knight Resurrection; Breaker The Magical Warrior, Hitotsu-Me Giant and rule for Traps and Spells from the Yu-Gi-Oh Series One starter set; Iron Monger and Mandarin from Marvel The Invincible Iron Man; and Batman, Deathstroke and Deadshot from DC Batman Arkham Origins. DC Batman Classic TV is out now and as you can see above next month will see the release of another DC set Batman Arkham Origin. I think I have brought this up once, but I would like to bring this up. I am a fan of Batman, but this is going over the top. DC sets we had since late 2012 were Batman, Batman: Streets of Gotham, Batman: No Man’s Land, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Man of Steel, Teen Titans, Batman: The Classic TV show, a Batman board that had HeroClix dials (sorry I cannot remember the name) and now Batman: Arkham Origins. Only two sets not based around Batman, and one of them still had him in it (Teen Titans). I hate to say it but Wizkidz, DC, there are more DC heroes other than Batman. Give him a break and focus on the others.

Now for the Kingdom Death news. Something I never said the other week was that they sell resin figures of characters and monsters from their game world (but with no rules for the game). Most of these are limited run only (at a glance I would say between 150 and 250) and they are known to sell out in a space of a day. Currently most things are out of stock including their non limited stuff. One of their partners, a Japanese company called "Full Metal Planet" do have stock of a lot of their stuff and with postage and packaging it is roughly the same cost as it is from Kingdom Death. On Friday last week I decided to order two of them: Beyond the Wall and Pinup Savior Morgan. I would like to get Female Survivor (cannot find a name for her), 20 year old Savior and Survivor Snow, but they were all out of stock and I would not have ordered that much. Oh and there is a monster I would like to great, the Lion Knight, but as there will be an expansion pack with him in it. So I will wait to get that.

Next is the Robotech news. On Thursday (yesterday) there was a LONG awaited update on KickStarter. They have been very busy getting things ready for the December shipment date. The rulebook is in final layout stages. The Jotun Armored Valkyrie sculpt is done. There is just a couple of sculpts left to finalize, namely a minor change to the Super Valkyrie and a few modifications to the YF-4 Guardian and Battloid modes. Game stat cards are being finalized now and the product packaging is also in the works.

People who have read this week’s Neoscream’s Life post will know that there were some problems with Hasselfree Miniatures Sculpting Competition 2012. On Thursday (yesterday) evening I received an email saying that they will finally post polls sometime today (27th of September). I will post links to these polls on Saturday and hopefully chat a bit about them. The polls will be up for ten days and people can vote for three figures for each of the three categories: Modern, Fantasy, and Sci-Fi. Let us see how well Kallen, Eve and Shen will do.

Past Events

This is where I will be talking about the gaming events I have been to since the last post. Place note friendly games with mate will most likely talk about in the “Neoscream’s Life” posts than here unless they happen at places like Wargames Workshop MK.

Monday last week I was at the finals of the Warmachine/Hordes Journeyman’s League at Wargames Workshop MK. Due to the longer time matches and prize giving, we only had one game. But before the first game we cashed in the last of the painting points for the league. I gained eight more points, but two others cashed in a ton more points on the day. I was up against Kieran Sherry. He was using a Retribution force. Sadly I lost very quickly. After a long wait for everybody to finish, the awards were given out. The first award was the Journeyman Award. This was given out to the player that gathered the most Journeyman points during the League. Journeyman points are the total Gaming and Hobby points a player had earned. I won this by two points. While before the finals I was a head by at least nine points. At second was Joseph Mead and at third was Kieran Sherry. The next award was the Creator award. This was based on Hobby points and Hobby points are earned by painting figures. I originally thought that you could only earn these points from painting figures from the Faction you are playing, but I learnt on the day that you could earn points from painting figures from other Factions. I sadly lost out on three or more points from a group of three Exemplar Cinerators, however ever I still won this award without them. At second was Joseph Mead and at third was Kieran Sherry (Hang on that is the same as Journeyman). The final award was for the Destroyer Award and I... did not win that one. There was a four way tie between Kieran Sherry, Dave Bartley, Barnaby O'Callaghan and Niall Sherry. The tie breaker was Hobby points which Kieran Sherry won, meaning he won the award, second was Dave Bartley and third was Barnaby O'Callaghan. The league was great fun and if it was not for work and DreadBall I would do the Tournaments. One Saturday off every other month is fine, but one Saturday off a month while Saturdays are the busiest day in the week is pushing it.

On Friday last week I went to Wargames Workshop MK to play some Zombicide Season Two. Bob, one of the guys I play DreadBall with was a backer of both the Season One and Season Two KickStarters of Zombicide. As he got his first shipment if Season Two stuff the previous weekend, he decided to run a game of Season Two. Sadly he only brought Prison Outbreak so only six people could play. I knew I should have brought my copy of Season One. Luckily I managed to get in as well as Adrian and Michael who I know from HeroClix. We play Mission 02 and I was playing Grindlock (I wonder if the name is a play on Grimlock) who was chosen at random. On the first turn an Abomination and two Fatties came into play. We know that we were doomed from then, but we continued on. We lasted a hell of a lot longer than we expected and collected all but one of the objectives. Virally all the Zombies from the box set were on the map and about 90% were in one room. We might not have won the Mission, but we did have fun which is what Zombicide is all about.

On Monday this week I was at the Warmachine High Command demo at Wargames Workshop MK. Due to numbers and the fact that we forgot to open the store's copy, we only had enough for four players with the demo. So I had to skip the demo game. But after it we cracked open the stores copy and we all got two full games in. In both games I was using Protectorate of Menoth. The game was fun to play and very interesting. I might pick it up at a later date, maybe when the expansion The Big Guns is out.

Future Events

This is where I will be posting up and coming local gaming events I know of and events that I am going to. So that people know, when I say local, I mean Milton Keynes.

·         On Mondays at Wargames Workshop MK is Wargaming night. The fee for playing there is £2.
·         On Tuesdays at Wargames Workshop MK it is Card games night (or is it just Magic the Gathering). The fee for playing there is £2 or £4 with a pack of Magic the Gathering cards.
·         On Thursdays York House in Stony Stratford is open from Wargamers and Boardgamers. The fee for playing is £5 for a yearly membership and then £3 on the day. However the first day is free and they only take yearly membership fee at the start of the year.
·         On Fridays at Wargames Workshop MK it is Boardgames night and Friday Night Magic. The fee for playing there is £2 or £4 with a pack of Magic the Gathering cards for Magic players. With Magic the first Friday of the month is sealed.
·         On Friday the 4th of October, there will be a Warmachine High Command Tournament at Wargames Workshop MK. The fee for playing there is £2. I might be going to this Tournament.
·         On Saturday the 5th of October, there will be a DreadBall Tournament at Wargame Workshop MK. It is £5 to enter with limited places. It is recommended to go to Guardians of Tyr's website. There is a link to their site under my links to the right hand side of this blog. I will be going to this Tournament.
·         On Saturday the 12th of October there will be demos of DreadBall Ultimate at Wargames Workshop MK. Standard £2 fee for this. I will most likely not be going to this Demo due to work.
·         On Saturday the 19th of October there will be a Warhammer 40,000 tournament at Wargames Workshop MK. It is £10 to enter with limited places. It is recommended to go to Guardians of Tyr's website. There is a link to their site under my links to the right hand side of this blog. I will not be going to this Tournament as I do not play 40k anymore.

Painting and Converting

This section replaces the old Model Painting post. On the last Model Painting post I said I would be doing two Fire Warriors, a Crisis Suit, a zombie runner and the survivors Doug and Josh. However my Tau stuff that was not in my miniatures case for 7TV has disappeared on me. So the 300 rating version of my Tau Invasion Force team will be on pause until I can hunt for them. Instead of the Fire Warriors and Crisis Suit I will be doing Rose Tyler, Clara Oswald and an Exemplar Cinerator.

This week's models from the front
This week's models from the rear.
The Exemplar Cinerator Unit Leader
This week's Zombicied
All six box set Season One Survivors
This week's Doctor Who models

Next week I should be doing the Secret Project, two Exemplar Cinerators and a seventh Robot Guard. OK I did get the Secret Project well in time for this post but as I already took the photos I decided to leave in until next week.

Armies

This is where re-listing for 7TV teams, new 7TV team lists and force/team listings of teams I used (and maybe opponents too if I can) during events.

This week's 7TV re-listing will be my Bot-X team. With this team I decided (as my teams do not fit the 70's) to roughly based my stuff 40 to 50 years after the 7TV stuff. The good guys won, the villains have ever gone into hiding or disbanded, but now new threats have appeared. A Department X scientist called Doctor Gear Headson was working on old Argonaut technology. He wanted to try to build something to help the world. His son, Xavin Headson, was an agent for Department X, but had been reported as dyeing in action. Then one day when Gear’s daughter, Sparks, was visiting, the base they worked at was attack from a group known as the “Children of Argo”. Gear activated his life’s work, Bot-X to save his daughter and as meanly staff it could, while he distracted the attack. Gear sacrificed his own life, protecting Sparks and Bot-X as well as taking down the Children of Argo for good. The attack hit Department X pretty hard. They were unable to protect Sparks and Bot-X, so another British government organisation took Sparks and Bot-X in for the time being (currently un-named). Box-X was sent on dangerous missions whom no human could do and Sparks became Bot-X’s engineer as she was the only person alive that could understand her father’s work. The head of the organisation placed his son Max with them to keep a watchful eye on them as he is the same age as Sparks. There is more to the story, but the 100 rating team reflexes the team at this stage. More characters (and grunts) are planned, and they might return to Department X later.

I might change the figure of Max for the 200 rating team. Oh, the remains of Children of Argo, have formed two groups. The CWC and the forces of Doctor Goodman. Next week I will be doing the re-listing of my Attack of the Killer Tomatoes team.

The force I used in my final game of Warmachine in the Journeyman League was:

Axis, The Harmonic Enforcer -6 (to Warjacks)
Cipher Heavy Vector 9
Cipher Heavy Vector 9
Inverter Heavy Vector 8
Mitigator Light Vector 4
Mitigator Light Vector 4
Galvanizer Light Vector 3
Galvanizer Light Vector 3
=34 points

I thought of trying out Axis, but it did not work out for me.

Homemade Rules

Here I will be posting homemade rules or house rule. I will TRY to post at least one rule in each post. This week I explain two homemade Special Effects for 7TV that I have used. I have explained one in the past but I have decided to re-post it with better wording.

Outside Training (Trait) – A Star or Co-Star with this Special Effect may choose to spend up to one of their special effect point on any special effect they do not have access to.

Advance Weapon Training (Knowledge OR if you can gain Military Training or have it already) - Models with Advance Weapon Training can elect to replace any of their Basic attacks with Advance attacks.

I plan on setting up a page to re-post these rules soon so I do not need to worry about re-posting them each time I use them.

Until next time, Armour Up.

Neoscream's Life: 16th to 22nd September 2013

RMV-1 Guntank II
Welcome to the Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of some of the things I have done last week and news on the great Geek Goddess, AJ Lee. This post will no longer hold gaming news or results from League and Tournaments I have been in now (but if I win anything I will most like talk about it briefly here). All of that will be moved to the new “Gaming with Neoscream” post (which will most likely be the biggest post I have ever done).

“Life”

At the Journeyman League finals I won two medals, the Journeyman Award and the Creator Award. Now I need to find a place to display them.

All on Monday last week McDonald’s drive thru was closed down for work to be done to it. It is rumoured to be three weeks. Why it needs work doing to it I do not know, but it has only been a year since the store had a MAJOR refit. This has caused us to be quite busy.

With A+, after checking the Microprocessors chapter of the Eighth edition of CompTIA A+ Certification I found that they had changed a major part of it that I was worried about. Originally it looked like you had to know the ins and outs of almost every processor made by both Intel and AMD. But now it is just what sockets the modern ones "might" fit in.

This bit of news was a bit of an if and um to ever have it in Neoscream's Life or Gaming with Neoscream, but I decided to do it here. It is news on the Hasslefree Miniatures Sculpting Competition 2012. The heavy delay was due to problem with several figures and them deciding what to do. A lot of figures were not suitable for modelling and if they had Kev fix they it would have taken month and delayed production of their own stuff. Some figures were broken in the post, some needed to be multi part to be moulded and some parts of figures were to fragile or thin for moulding. They made the hard decision to not mould every figure. Instead they will only do winning figures (which Kev will work on if they need work) and a chosen bunch as well. This means that if your figure does not moulded, you will not get a metal version on it. However they have made it clear that everybody will get their greens back, which was the plan in the first place. Also if you figures had problems, they will send you a personal email saying that it was and how to avoid doing it in the future.

“AJ Lee (and WWE)

First off the Night of Champions results. First off is the kick off match, the Tag Team Turmoil match between the Prime Time Players, the Usos, Tons of Funk, the Real Americans and 3MB.  Prime Time Players won it and went on to fight the Shield for the Tag Team Championships. Next was a new match that was made on the night, Curtis Axel verses Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental Championship. After a tough match Curtis Axel won. Next was the fatal four between AJ, Natalya, Brie Bella and Naomi for the Divas Championship.  It started with everyone attacking AJ which I feared, but Brie turned on the others when AJ was thrown outside the ring. Natalya tried showboating by doing the Sharpshooter on both Brie and Naomi. But AJ broke it up and applied the Black Widow on Natalya which made Natalya tap out. The Geek Goddess is still the Divas Championship qnd she will be it FOREVER. Next was RVD verses Alberto Del Rio for rhe World Heavyweight Championship. RVD won by disqualification meaning Alberto maintains the championship. Next was another new match, Fandango verses The Miz. The Miz kicked Fang Dimbat's ass to win the match. Next was CM Punk verses Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman in a handy cap non disqualification elimination match. Punk beat the crap out of Axel and eliminated him. So it was Punk verses Heyman. Punk had beaten the living hell out of Heyman and was about to finish him off when Ryback out of nowhere and saved Heyman by beating the crap out of Punk. Ryback placed Heyman on top of Punk to pin Punk and give Heyman the win. Afterwards Ryback carried Heyman away. So Ryback is a Heyman guy now. Next was Dean Ambrose of the Shield verses Dolph Ziggler for the USA Championship. Dean beat Dolph fair and square. However on Raw the next day Dolph beat Dean in a non title match, so he is in line for another title match. Quickly after that it was the remaining members of the Shield verses the Prime Time Players. The Shield cheated to win this one. Lastly it was the Daniel Bryan verses Randy Orton match for the WWE Championship. Daniel Bryan won by using the same move that won him the match against John Cena. Sadly due to a bride ref making a quick count (what I bet Daniel Bryan had nothing to do with it), Triple H took away the title from Daniel Bryan on Raw last week. Luckily he never gave at back to Randy Orton.

Now for news about the Geek Goddess (and still Divas Champion), AJ Lee outside of Night of Champions. On Raw AJ and Natalya had joined community during the Funkadactyls and Brie Bella verses Layla El, Alicia Fox and Aksana match. Natalya's headset was not working. People were blaming AJ. If it was divine interaction from AJ, she saved us from hearing Natalya. Sadly Jerry "the King" Lawler handed her his near the end of the match. If someone had to give her a headset, why could not been Michael Cole. The match ended with all six Divas in ring fighting each other and a stair out between AJ and Natalya.

AJ was also on Smackdown this week. AJ was in a match against Naomi and Natalya was on commentary sadly. AJ kicked Naomi’s butt and plans on doing so to all the cast of Total Diva.

Cosplay Deviants: 16th to 22nd September 2013

MarieJane in "Fish Girl"
Welcome the Cosplay Deviants post, this is where I post PG rated previews of the week’s sets from the site Cosplay Deviant and sometime talk a bit about them too.

On Monday there was a new video from the deviant Foxy. It was from her set called The Surface where she cosplays as Yoko Littner from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. As I have already posted a preview picture of this set in the past I will not be posting any pictures, however the preview post for it is proving very popular and you might be about to find it on the “Popular Post” section to the right side of the blog. You can tell which post it is with the picture of Yoko Littner.

Wonder Girl
On Wednesday there was a new set from the deviant, MarieJane. The set is called Fish Girl. Sadly I have no clue of who she is cosplaying as or from what.

ToxicTechno in "Titan
On Saturday there was a new set from the deviant ToxicTechno. The set is called Titan and in it she cosplayed as Wonder Girl from DC comics.

This week’s Cosplay Cards section I have done update card for ToxicTechno. There would have been one for MarieJane, but as I do not know who she was cosplaying as this week I cannot update her card sadly.

Until next time, Armour Up.

MK HeroClix: 19th September 2013 - Fantastic Skrull Flop

Welcome to the last ever MK HeroClix post. This use to be a weekly post with HeroClix news and results of Thursday's HeroClix game at MK Wargames Society at York House. However, due to a college course I am starting next week, this was the last week I will be playing HeroClix this year (well maybe at Christmas time if there is a Christmas break from the course). The HeroClix news will be moved to a new gaming post “Gaming with Neoscream” that will replace this post.

This week there was previews of I.K.S. Toral from Star Trek Tactics III; Xandressan Windsman and Gassalite Swordbrother from Mage Knight Resurrection; Blue Eyes White Dragon, Dark Magician, Feral Imp and Des Feral Imp from the Yu-Gi-Oh Series One starter set; and the Batmobile from DC Batman Classic TV. With Yu-Gi-Oh the starter will be release in December and then the Series One will be released in February 2014.

This week was the last game for me for a while. It was 500 point, half the force must be from Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men, three actions. I went for a classic X-Men line up who were:

Wolverine (001 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 100
Colossus (002 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 100
Cyclops (016 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 94
Longshot (009 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 75
Jean Grey (017 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 40
Shadowcat (204 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 70
Iceman (037 Marvel Xplosion) 26
=505 points and four re-rolls.

On the first round I was up against Adrian. He was using a non themed X-Men and Brotherhood team who were:

Kid Omega
Professor X and Magneto (053 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 133
Dazzler (008 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 75
Longshot (009 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 75
Lady Deathstrike (030 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 75
Mystique (028 Marvel Xplosion) 34
Polaris (025 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 94
=487 points and no re-rolls.

I managed to take out Lady Deathstrike and Polaris, but sadly I lost this game.  Also Darren won his game against Michael. On the second round I was up against Michael. He was using an X-Men themed team who were:

Cyclops (016 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 94
Kid Omega (028 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 128
Sunspot (018 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 76
Colossus (029 Marvel Fear Itself) 200
=498 points and four re-rolls.

The Fear Itself Colossus is a monster, double charge, Indomitable, Impervious and Shape Change.  I ended up losing.  Also Darren won his game against Adrian. On the third and final round I was up against Darren.  He was using a New Mutants themed team who were:

New Mutants
Shatterstar (010 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 73 + New Mutants (ATA) 4 = 77
Rictor (014 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 58 + New Mutants (ATA) 4 = 62
Sunspot (018 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 76 + New Mutants (ATA) 4 = 80
Magik (034 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 102 + New Mutants (ATA) 4 = 106
Warlock (046 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 164 + New Mutants (ATA) 4 = 168

Darren white washed me. New Mutants might be weak in the comics, but in HeroClix they are nasty. Also Michael won his game against his brother Adrian. Three loses. A very crap last session of HeroClix.

Well that is it for HeroClix for me this year (I might be able to get a game at Christmas time. The guys are planning to meet up on the last Thursday of each month while I am away with my course. I should be back by February 2014 where things might be going back to normal, but when it does the write ups will be in the new “Gaming with Neoscream” post when I get back to them.

Until next time, Armour Up.
