Welcome to
the Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of some of the things I have
done last week and news on stuff from Crooked Dice Games, Mantic Game and the
Geek Goddess AJ Lee.
Monday was
the third session of the Wargames Workshop MK DreadBall League. For half of us
this will be the last session of the league as only the top two teams of each
group will compete in the semi finals and finals next month. Will I be playing
next month or not in the league? I was on first place in group B at the start
of third session with two wins and two loses, so it is up to how well I do in
the third session. I forgot my Coaching Staff AJ figure so Coach Renton had to
cover for her. With the points I have earned last time, I brought an extra
coaching dice to bring the total to three. On the first round I was up against
Rob T. Sadly he won the game by one or two points. From that game I earned
enough credits for another coaching dice to bring it up to four coaching dice.
On the second and final match I was up against Gavin R. I managed to win the
match by one or two points. This placed me in still in first place of my group
meaning I would be in the semis next month against David B, the runner up of
his group. Or so I thought. The next day I noticed an error on Guardians of
Tyr's website (the people who are running the leagues and tournaments for
Wargames Workshop). They had me down as winning my second game against Carl
last month. I massage them about it and I am still waiting for a response.
On Friday I
learnt that the Gadget Show is back on TV on the 3rd of June. Jason
Bradbury and Pollyanna Woodward are back in a brand new studio, Jon Bentley
rejoins them and they are being joined by a new host to the show Rachel Riley.
Now for the
Mantic news. CAD images of the DreadBall Mecha has been reviled with a scaled
picture next to an Enforcer as well as a CAD image of the prone Zee marker.
With the Deadzone KickStarter, during the week the extra stretch goals that were
unlocked are: Doctor Gayle Simmonds special character was added to Recon level
and above (not including terrain only levels); a free digital copy of the
Deadzone Short Story Compilation for every pledge level; the special character
Recon Unit N32-19 to Recon level and above; the Ruins BattleZone; the Inferno
Drill and three Brokkrs were added to the Forge Father Starter Faction; a
Weapon Drone with Energy Cannon/Shield Generator, a Cypher with Fission Beam
and two more Cyphers with Flux Rifles were added to the Asterian Faction
starter set; the character Nastanza the Huntress free with Recon level and
above; an extra scenario for the Nexus Psi Digital Campaign which make it a
total of six scenarios; and the Deadzone Compendium which comes with the Nexus
Psi Digital Campaign rules, the Forge Fathers faction, the Asterians faction, a
painting guide and now Plague ZOMBIES which all pledge levels will get as a
free PDF and people who pledged $300 or more will get a free signed physical
copy. Also the active goals for the Deadzone KickStarter when I went to bed on
Sunday night were: hard plastic plague zombies will be made that are compatible
with Kings of War zombies will be made and five will be added to Striker level
and above (not including terrain only levels) at $635,000; a Cypher Black Talon
added to the Asterian Faction Starters and a Brokkr with Muspell-pattern Rifle
added to the Forge Father Faction Starter both at $650,000; and a new scenario
to the Nexus Psi Digital Campaign for every 500 backers. This week will be this
last week of the KickStarter, let us see what new stuff can be funded.
Next is
Crooked Dice Games news. They are now stocking nine new miniatures for use with
7th Voyage from Harwood Hobbies In four packs. The first pack is Kali Cultists
that is a three figure pack which has Lesath the Kali Cultist Leader, Kali
Cultist and Kali Deathdealer. The second pack Cursed Creatures that features
the masked Visier and the tormented Harpy. The third Desert Slavers has a
Dervish Avenger and Slave Girl. And the fourth pack is The Princess and the Wizard
which speaks for itself. Also I missed two weeks ago, next month will see three
time lost travellers. These are: Eliza, Victorian Samurai; Sachs - a mutated
manservant; and Genevieve - a martial maid. Eliza and Sachs come with human
head on the tab PLUS an alternate Saurian or Toad-face head for variety.
Basically they are (with the alternate heads) Vastra, Jenny and Strax from
Doctor Who. It has been reviled that they should be in the store on the 1st
of June. I have got to order a pack or two of these. Please oh please do a
figure based on Clara Oswald.
As the
Robotech RPG Tactics KickStarter has finished I have decided to blog about two
other KickStarters I have backing. OVA: Anime Role-Play Game and Mekton Zero
that I have just started during the weekend.
First off is
OVA KickStarter news. Before last week it was funded and several scratch goals
were made. These were: a deluxe dust jacket for the physical rulebook; an eBook
version of the rules for Swift Samurai level and above; a mobile phone app for
the game for Swift Samurai level and above; an add on book called Plastic
Hearts as a free PDF for Swift Samurai level and above; and a bookmark that
doubles as a reference sheet to the Bounty Hunter level and above. I am
currently at Swift Samurai level, but was considering up to Bounty Hunter level
until I spotted Mekton Zero. During the week the extra goals that were unlocked
were: the Tablet app. Also the active stretch goals for the OVA KickStarter
when I went to bed on Sunday night were: Miho will personally pack your package
for you and slip in a custom die graced with her own visage for all backers of
$30 or more at $80,000. There are requests for more as add ons.
Lastly is
the Mekton Zero KickStarter news. Mekton is a mecha role-play from the makers
of the Cyberpunk 2020 role-play games that was first released in 1984. It went
through three different editions over the years, the last one being Mekton Zeta
that was released back in 1994. There was a Gundam game release in Japan back
in 2000 that uses the Mekton system. There were plans releasing an English
version but it never happen. On Saturday I learnt that Makton is making a
comeback via KickStarter. However Zero is not the open world game as the other
Mekton games were. It is set it the Algol universe that was covered in the
official settings stuff towards the back of the book. By the sound of things
you cannot build from scratch new mecha in Zero, but you can customise a
premade model and the game compatible with old Mekton Zeta system so you can
use Zeta to build bread new mecha. The system used is basically the Zeta, but
was some changes to stream line the game and to improve to characters. The
initial funded for it was finished during Sunday morning. Then I went to bed on Sunday night there was
currently no stretch goals.
Before the
AJ Lee news, let us talk about Extreme Rule. The pre-show match was The Miz
verses Cody Rhodes. I was hoping the Miz would win and he did.
The first
match was the veteran Y2J Chris Jericho in a rematch against the new be
Fandango. At Wrestlemania, Fang Dimbat managed to win against Jericho in his
debut match. Luckily Jericho was able to defeat Fang Dimbat.
Next was the
Strap Match between Sheamus and Mark Henry. Sheamus managed to pull a shocker
by beating the world's strongest man. From a scene from the locker rooms, Mark
left almost in tears. Is this Mark leaving for good?
Next was
Dean Ambrose of the Shield verses the U.S. Champion Kofi Kingston in a title
match. There were worries that this would turn into a three on one match. But
Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns headed after walking Dean half way to the ring.
It looked like Kofi had the advantage. However Dean managed to shock the world
by winning the match and gaining the U.S. Championship. Seth and Roman both
came out to celebrate with Dean.
Next was a
match that the injured World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler and the Geek
Goddess AJ Lee would be watching closely. Alberto Del Rio verses Jack Swagger
in an 'I Quit' Match for the number one contender for the World Heavyweight
Championship. Zeb Colter tried making the ref think that Ricardo Rodriguez had
thrown in the towel for Del Rio. But the ref watched a reply and saw it was Zeb
and restarted the match. Del Rio managed to get Swagger to say 'I Quit', making
Del Rio the number one contender.
The next
match was The Shield’s Seth and Roman verses WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell
No Tornado Tag Team Title Match. Dean was not at ringside for them. Sadly team
Hell No lost the match, meaning they lost the titles. Even though it was Daniel
Bryan that was pinned, there is no way I would class him as the weak link.
Sadly due to
the bloody cricket I have not seen past here until yesterday (Monday). So I
have to quickly write about the last three matches skipping bit I would have
liked to talk more about. Randy Orton defeated the Big Show in an Extreme Rules
Match. Brock Lesnar sadly defeated Triple H in a Steel Cage match. And WWE
Champion John Cena and Ryback wrestled to a in a double count out in their Last
Man Standing Match. Cena was badly injury and refused medical help. He was not
even on Raw like he is normally.
AJ on Raw |
Now for what
AJ Lee has been up to this past week. AJ appeared on Extreme Rules back stage
on the phone to Dolph. Kaitlyn was being rude and insulting to poor AJ. AJ made a comeback remark as Kaitlyn was
walking off and then Kaitlyn last it and attacked AJ. The officials backstage
had to break them up with the Bella Twins laughing their heads off. What does
not make things better one of the commitaors (if memory serves me right it was
Jerry "the King" Lawler) saying that AJ was picking on Kaitlyn and
that she had enough.
This week on
Raw AJ appeared twice (not counting the backstage replay from Extreme Rules).
The first time was when she was supporting Big E Langston in his match against
Del Rio. Big E won the match. It was not Big E's or AJ's fault that the ref is
easier distracted by shiny things that should not be at ringside. The second
time was the match afterwards. It was AJ verses Layla. Again Aj won by applying
the Black Widow on Layla and making her tap out on her ass.
WTF from Main Event |
AJ was on
Main Event as well last week. I have not seen Main Event as I do not know of
any UK airing of it. So this is based on what I seen online. She was supporting
Big E in his rematch against Del Rio which sadly Big E lost.
