Gaming with Neoscream: 1st November 2013

The new Kingdom Death
Releases
Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”, my weekly gaming post for miniature games and non-computer RPGs.

Gaming News

First off is the Mantic news. There was a major update on the Deadzone KickStarter. There is a problem with the Generic Enforcers. They had decided to do them as hard plastic instead of the resin plastic they use. However they are problem with the hard plastic quality. This will mean they will not be ready for the first shipment. They will now include five Enforcers from their Warpath range for free to fill in for them for all Kickstarter Enforcer Faction Starter.  There is no word how this will affect the starter game of public release of the Enforcers. Mantic has also decided to give the Marauder Faction Starter an extra figure due to the low number they have. This will be Marauder Pyro. There will be a Limited Edition Alternate Survivor for pre-release stuff and he will be available to KickStarters on the second survey which will be around March-April next year and finally they are saying that the Deadzone first shipment will ship at the start of December. With the Mars Attacks KickStarter they have managed to unlock or got during since last week’s post: Five Tiger Corps members as an add-on and as part of Will of Men pledge level and above; Giant Robots Core Add-On; a military upgrade for the truck; a crashed flying saucer Pledge add-on; Deadzone faction decks for the Martians and humans as a core add-on for $5 each; a Martian DreadBall team as a core add-on for $20; and a Suburban Nightmare pledge level which is $50 and has only terrain in it. Stretch goal that were left as I start to post this were: Wrecked Car Scenery Piece at 2,540 backers; the human character Edwyn added to the starter set at $470,000 (almost done as I starting post this); The Heroes of Greenville Multiplayer Cooperative Rules at $475,000; Intact Scenery at $485,000; more Giant Bugs; new scenery types; weapon upgrade to the truck; maybe some small animals; maybe some curvy civilians; and maybe some sneaky Martians.

Next is the HeroClix news. This week there was previews of: Iron Man, Rescue, Hammer Industries Drone, Dreadnought, Justin Hammer, Crossbones, Puck, Guardian, Aurora and Northstar from Marvel The Invincible Iron Man Gravity Feed; Dreadknight from Marvel The Invincible Iron Man; Aragorn from Lord of the Rings The Two Towers; Colossus from Marvel Avengers vs. X-Men; and Solomon Grundy from DC Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes. On personal HeroClix news I have pre-ordered a brick of Marvel The Invincible Iron Man from 13th Floor.

Now for the Elven Adventurers Box Set KickStarter news. The first Elven Thief has been renamed as an Elven Rogue to prevent confusion. They have managed to unlock or got during the last seven days: The Elven Female Fighter was added to the League of Cyn'Thark adventuring party; The Kral’s Champions adventuring party with Elven Archer, Elen Wizard, Elven Weapon Master, Elven Ceremonial Guard, Elen Wizard on Stag mount, an owl, wolf and a deer; the Strymian Thieves Guild adventuring party with Kitsune, three Pixie Questers, a coil of rope, Elven Infiltrator and a set of keys; and a Troll Beserker. Stretch goal that were left as I start to post this were: Artisan's tools added to the Strymian Thieves Guild adventuring party at $54,000; Elven Monk added to the Strymian Thieves Guild adventuring party at $55,000; Elven Thief added to the Strymian Thieves Guild adventuring party at $57,500; the Elven Baker at $62,500; and Kitsune Swordsman added to the Strymian Thieves Guild adventuring party at 550 backers.

The new Jargono Tribal Human hero class
Next is the Shadows of Brimstone KickStarter news. They have managed to unlock or got during the last seven days: Both genders of the Orphan hero class; “The Lost Army” Mission pack; a female variants of the Indian Scout and the Lawman (Female Sheriff); the Flesh Stalker; the “Treasures of the Void” Artifacts pack; you can get each of the core set heroes and their variants as add-ons (this is one of three add-ons that is not included with the Mine Cart pledge level; Mine Terrain set; two Targa Dark Stone Pylons hazard terrain pieces; Blank Game Cards (the second none Mine Cart add-on); three Custodians of Targa; the Pack Mule ally; both genders of the Jargono Tribal Human hero class; and extra copies of the core games (the third none Mine Cart add-on); the Expanded Frontier Town board. Stretch goal that were left as I start to post this were: The “Dead Man’s Bounty” gear cards at $550,000; a second male variant of the Bandido at $575,000; and the Void Sorcerer at $600,000.

The Vigilante
Now for the Kingdom Death news. Just in there store are four new releases. The new figures are Storm Knight, both a male and female version of Warrior of the Sun and a variant Pinup Savior with no skirt and a sword in her had instead of the staff (which sold out in about an hour). The restore on the site during the week was the fantastic Beyond the Wall, Grand Mother, Pinup Twilight Knight, Preacher Pinup and one of the Pinup White Speakers (which has sold out). I picked up the female version of Warrior of the Sun as it looks fantastic. Now was there meant to be a Warrior of the Sun Pinup in the works.

Next is the Mekton news. This week’s updates only really included images of the Elaran Heavy Attack type called the Vigilante and the Ettaran Dorian.

Now for the Interface Zero news. The main rule book is all most done. Just some minor work to be done and a bunch of art work. (Artwork always delays RPG books.) When it is done it will be proofed read one last time and then backers will get the PDF copy. After that it will be set off to be printed and then layout work and artwork will begin on the first source book “The Solar System”.

Next is the Crooked Dice Games news. Friday showed a ton of releases: Guru, Kali, Cultists, Savage Schoolgirls and physical Villains Programme Guide. They had not revealed images of the cultists until this week. Also this month’s deal (by the look if it) is if you spend £60+ in their store, you can get a 10% off with the code ZOMBIEMILEYCYRUS. Also rough dates for last orders for Christmas have been released. 2nd of December of the Rest of the World, 5th of December for Europe and 16th of December for the UK. These are NOT guaranteed as problems can happen with Customs.

Now for the Privateer Press news. The second Backer Update video for Warmachine Tactics was released this week. They have the basic game play now, however it is not at Alpha testing level yet.

Lastly there is the Hasslefree Miniatures news. They were still away on holiday this week, however they be back next week, most likely with a massive back log of orders to pack up and send off.

Past Events

As it was half-term there was no collage this week, so I could make it to HeroClix this week. It was a Halloween special and the rules were: 600 points, four actions, a minimum 10% to a maximum 25% of team total must possess the monster keyword. Sadly the brothers never made it for some reason so it was just me verses Darren. Luckily I had brought two teams with me. In the first game I was using me Asgardian. Sadly they lost to Darren’s Thunderbolts team. My team could not hit for squat after killing Hawkeye. In the second game I was using my Avengers team. This time they creamed Darren’s Thunderbolts team. We decided to have a third game. Darren had a bunch of Asgardians in his case (over 1,400 points wroth), so he put together a 1,200 point force and I combined both my team. I sadly lost this game, but I did take out his nasty Thor with the high defences due to is trait. “ODIN'S ARMOUR, THAT ONCE WEATHERED THE SERPENT: Modify Thor's defence value by +1 for each 100 points of the attacker's point value.” Sadly this is the last HeroClix game for the year as we would not be able to get a game during the Christmas Holiday. Maybe just after New Year we will get a game.

Next week I will talk about Friday’s Hordes High Command release event and if something happens on Monday I will I will post it here too.

Painting and Converting

This week I have done a Dwarf Alliance Soldier, four Zombie Walkers, a Zombie Runner and four Choir of Menoth members.

This week's figures front view
This week's figures rear view
This week's Warmachine figures. There will spell out a secret code.
You have to wait for the remaining two to know what it is.
This week's Zombicide figures
This week's X-Guard figure
The first out of eight rows of Zombies done

Next week I should be doing at least a Choir of Menoth member, Beyond the Wall, Lugwing and a Judwin player. If I can find my missing Tau stuff in time I will include a second Judwin player, a bug player and a Tau Fire Warrior.

Homemade Rules

Due to work on the Mecha Knight (new name for MS Wars) rule I have been doing, there will not be any new house rules stuff. I am hoping to get some of it typed up for next week. I have been coming up with ideas had to work on them. It will be a total redo of the rules. I am dropping infantry and for now vehicles. So it will be mech verses mech action. Posts with Mecha Knight in them will how "Mecha Knight" label and not the old "MS Wars" one.

Until next time, Armour Up.
