Gaming News from Neoscream: 18th April 2014

Welcome to “Gaming News from Neoscream”. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs, some card games and computer games.

Gaming News

First off is the HeroClix news. This week we had previews of: Mechanicalchaser from Yu-Gi-Oh Series One Colossus from Marvel X-Men Days of Future Past; Colleen Wing and Misty Knight from Marvel Deadpool; and Hal Jordan, the Sinestro Corps Ring and the Sinestro Corps Power Battery (last week’s was the Green Lantern one) from DC War of Light.

Now for the Ninja Division news. Super Dungeon Explorer Forgotten King KickStarter. Here is a re-look of what the Always Super level was like at the end of the last post:
Always Super – The new Super Dungeon Explore The Forgotten King box set now with six pet models, unique treasure/loot art work for all the card and the Explore Deck was expanded from twenty-four to thirty-six cards; updated Decks for the original and the two expansion packs which now includes unique treasure and loot art work for all the card; the Hero Brave-Mode Candy and her pet Never-Lost Cola; the Mistmourn Cost Warband now including more figures and the Mini-Boss Salt; the heroes Royal Warden and Wandering Minstrel; a pack of twelve plastic Potion counters; a pack of thirty plastic Wound counters; Hero versions cards for several of the Mini-Bosses (both old and new); six Giri Creeps; the Mini-Boss Shadow-Mode Candy; and the Pumpkin Patch spawning point and figures.
The Final "Always Super" level
The goals it managed to unlock during the final week were: A sixteen page Crystalia Adventures Colouring and Storybook for your children was added to Always Super level; a Boo Booty Box was added to Always Super level at $730k which will carry everything apart of the starter set from the level; the Hero/Mini-Boss Kunoichi Candy was added to Always Super level; the Hero/Mini-Boss Ninja Cola was added to Always Super level; a metal Princess Coin was added to Always Super level; and Mr. Bitey the Zombie Bunny pet was added to Stilt Town Zombie Warband.
During the course of the KickStarter they managed to make $1,151,889 and got 6,589 backers. Passing the one million is a big thing for table top games. Only the elite manage to do it, like Deadzone, RoboTech RPG Tactics and Zombicide Season Two. I also only know of one tablet top game to pass the holy two million mark and that is Kingdom Death Monster However I do have a strong feeling that this might end up running late due to great demand.

Next is the Cool Mini or Not news. With Zombicide, they have revealed that they will be releasing small storage container for the survivor cards, zombie cards, equipment cards, dice and the Danger Trackers. It was a good though, however I have to say it is a bit too small and does not hold the counters tiles or figures. Most people can and have found cheaper storage containers that holds more from places like craft stores and DIY stores.

Now for the Privateer Press news. Wednesday will see the releases of the Cryx Cavalry Unit “Bane Riders”, the new Convergence Heavy Vector set (can be built into ever Assimilator, Conservator or Modulator), the “Zombies Keep Out” game and the Warmachine High Command expansion set called “Heroes and Legends”.
The June releases have only just been revealed. These are: the Cryx Warcaster and Character Solo pack “Goreshade the Bastard and Deathwalker”, the Retribution Character Heavy Warjack Imperatus, the Convergence Light Vector “Galvanizer”, the Trollblood Unit “Pyg Bushwhackers”, the Trollblood Trollkin Character Solo “Horgle Ironstrike”, the Satyr Heavy Warbeast (can be built into ever Gnarlhorn, Rip Horn or Shadowhorn), the Circle Character Solo “Una the Falconer”, the Legion Character Solo “Fyanna the Lash”, the Skorne Character Solo “Tyrant Zaadesh”, the Warmachine High Command Campaign Expansion Set “Invasion of Sul” and issue 54 of No Quarter.
We also got previews of the Zombies Keep Out expansion set called "Night of the Noxious dead", the Hordes High Command expansion pack "Gaugantuan Might", the Trollblood Character Heavy Warbeast "Dozer and Smigg" and an expanded re-release of the Bile Thralls.

Next is the StarCrawlers news. The survey is out now. I picked up a second for a friend as a VERY later Christmas present, however this was already included in the amount I pledge.

Now for the Mechabrick news. They were meant to be at Salute last weekend, however I could not find them. I may have been acting blind.

Next is the Journey: Wrath of Daemons news. The survey is out now (it might have been out beforehand and I have been missing it). Due to some changes on their side I had a little extra, so I ended up spending $11 extra to use the extra credit. I went for two The Fifth Pilgrim Xiao Yan (Plastic). The Alternate Sculpt Tripitaka (Plastic) and the Soul Hunters + Cleansers Compete Set (Plastic). Now there might be an error so things might have to change.

Now for the Guild Ball news. The survey is out now as well and there is concept art of the new Engineering Guild finally. They look great.

Next is the Mantic news. Mantic revealed their future plans. Most of which had been revealed in the past. They really want to do a Kings of War KickStarter next but they still have no clue what they want to do with it. However it will not be another new edition as they are more than happy with the current rules. They also want to do a Kings of War version of Deadzone using castle terrain.
At Salute Mantic had the new releases for their Battle Zone terrain and Kings of War out early and they were giving away free Battle Zone terrain (sadly without connectors).
The Engineering Guild for Guild Ball
They have started sending out the invoices for the second survey of Deadzone and a Warpath short stories contest which the rules for it can be found in the Updates on both the DreadBall Xtreme and Deadzone KickStarters.

Now for the Elven Adventurers KickStarter news. By the sound of things shipping will be continuing into May due to bad weather effecting the arrival dates from the casters.

Next is the Crooked Dice Games news. The Blakes 7 Miniatures Game (B7MG for short) are officially finished and out as free downloads on their website. You will need 7TV to use the rules as they are designed as an expansion to 7TV.

Lastly there is Kingdom Death news. They are still waiting for four more figures to arrive until they can do the next update. However there was some information on the comments section of the KickStarter as Adam the game creator did a QnA last night. A Heroic mode has been added to the game to make it easier for cowards people who find it too default as the game is meant to be HARD. The rulebook is over 200 pages, which includes a ten page glossary, a twenty-eight page comic, about thirty pages of actual "rules rules". The rest of the book are the story events. The Resin Beta's will defiantly be going out in Q2 of this year, however they are still waiting on some very serious information before they can officially comment on when anything else will ship. Looks like it will not be Q2 then sadly. The retail box game will be $200 before postage and packing (twice the cost of the KickStarter price). There is about 700 cards not including gear cards and about 250 gear cards.
Also the Chosen has ran out on their web store.

Painting and Converting

This week I have the Male Great Game Hunter from Kingdom Death, the Cygnar Warcaster Commander Coleman Stryker, the Cygnar Warcaster Captain Kara Sloane and the Menoth Warcaster Thyra. Tried experimenting with the photos again and I thing they are looking much better now. All due to the low number there are multi angle photos too.

This week's figures
Male Great Game Hunter
Commander Coleman Styker
Captain Kara Sloan
Thyra, Flame of Sorrow

Next week should be doing at least the Cygnar Lancer Light Warjack, both the Survivor and Zombivor versions of a self-made Elf cosplayer for Zombicide and a Ronin.

Until next time, Keep Rolling.
