Neoscream's Life: 18th to 24th February 2013

MSA-005 Methuss is Moble Suit mode
Welcome to another week of my life. For those new to the blog, the "Neoscream's Life" posts are basically a weekly dairy of mine. It also includes the AJ Lee news; the latest Cosplay Deviants sets and news; my "Watch, Listen and Read" lists; and a painting/converting section with 7TV teams, DreadBall Figures and Super Dungeon Explore.

I was off work this week. I was mainly tidying my room during the weekdays. However I had to be called in for two hours on Tuesday evening to clean the Shake Machine. On Saturday both me and my mum went to the Centre MK as we needed haircuts. Sadly my mum could not get hers done as she wanted her hair coloured as well to get rid of her grey hairs and they could not colour her hair today, so she had to go in again on Tuesday. We popped into HMV where my mum picked up four albums. We then meet Richard for coffee. There was not Darren this week as he was doing overtime at work. After coffee the three of us went to Waterstones and then Richard went off. We then checked out the sales at Marks and Spencers where we picked up a couple of bits for the kitchen. We then had launch at Nando's, after that we popped into Games Workshop and then we did the food shopping. During the weekend I worked on a bunch of conventions. You can see how they are going at the bottom of the post.

Before going into the AJ Lee news, let us talk about Elimination Chamber. First off the Pre-show, Brodus Clay and Tensai verses Team Rhodes Scholars. Team Rhode Scholars have reformed to try to destroy to newly formed team of Brodus Clay and Tensai, however they failed. I can see it being Brodus Clay and Tensai verses Team Hell No at WrestleMania for the Tag Team titles.

The next match, which was the first match of the pay-per-view, was another rematch between World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio and the Big Show. Alberto shocked the world by making the Big Show tap out to the cross arm breaker.

Next was United States Champion Antonio Cesaro verses a injured Miz. Miz was winning the match, but due to an unintentional low blow, the Miz was disqualified. Which means the jerk Cesaro is still Champion.

Next is the Elimination Chamber match. Staring it off was Chris Jericho and Goat Face, I mean Daniel Bryan. Jack Swagger, Kane, Randy Orton and Mark Henry were in the pods and that was the order they came out in. Henry eliminated both members of Team Hell No, but took other three wrestlers to eliminate Henry, who went on a rampage that took Booker T  threatening to suspend him to stop it. Orton eliminated Jericho and then Swagger eliminated Orton for the victory. So Swagger will face Alberto for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.

Next match was the daughter of Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, Tamina Snuka, verses the Divas Champion Kaitlyn. I was hoping Tamina would win this match as if she did, I would be tweeting Booker T saying AJ should be number one contender as she has won all three singles matches she had against Tamina. But, sadly Kaitlyn won, so I could not do the tweet.

Speech of AJ, her man Dolph Ziggler got a last moment match against the man AJ will beat at the WrestleMania WWE 2013 challenge, Kofi Kingston. Dolph won the match, which proves to me Dolph's goals are too high. He should be aiming at ever the United States Championship or the Intercontinental Championship and not the World Heavyweight Championship. After the match Big E Langston beat the crap out of Kofi. He should have been aiming at Kofi's hands.

Next match the all star team of John Cena, Sheamus and Ryback verses the Shield. Sadly the Shield's insane tactics won them the match. In fact the rematch on Raw with Jericho instead of Cena ended up with a win for the Shield as well.

The final match was the rematch between the WWE Champion The Rock and CM Punk. Compared to the Royal Rumble this match was crap. The Rock won it. This would on meant it would be The Rock verses Cena at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship. However, on Raw the next day, Cena put his number one contendership on the line in a match against CM Punk on Raw next week (well, the match was aired before the post was posted). I have a feeling it will be a triple threat at WrestleMania, Cena verses the Rock verses CM Punk. But anyway, on Raw the Rock reviled a new look WWE Championship.

Now for some AJ Lee news. AJ only appeared on Raw this Monday the 18th of February. AJ was supporting Dolph Ziggler with Big E Langston like normal. Dolph had a rematch against Alberto Del Rio, which Dolph lost. There was also spoilers of a up and coming Saturday Morning Slam Match, but as it has not aired yet, I will leave it here for the time being.

MK HeroClix: 21st of February - Blade is the Vampire Slayer

Welcome to the MK HeroClix post. This is a weekly post with HeroClix news and results of Thursday's HeroClix game at MK Wargames Society at York House. This week there was previews of Robin, Kid Flash, Changeling, Firestar, Blackfire, Red Star and Arrowette from DC Teen Titans.

This week’s game was meant to be 600 points, 4 actions, no figure over 150 point, must be a named themed. However the brothers could not make it so Darren decided to do a seal event between the two of us using his newly received brick of Marvel Amazing Spider-man  We open two boosters each, build a 300 point team, play a game, then build a 400 point, play another game and then repeat with two new boosters. So we had four games in total which I only won one of them. I also got the non-generic doubles Darren pulled which includes Blade.

Until next time, Armour Up.

Neoscream's Life: 11th to 17th of February

MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki
Welcome to another week of my life. For those new to the blog, the "Neoscream's Life" posts are basically a weekly dairy of mine. It also includes the AJ Lee news; the latest Cosplay Deviants sets and news; my "Watch, Listen and Read" lists; and a painting/converting section with 7TV teams, DreadBall Figures and Super Dungeon Explore.

Milton Keynes was hit with snow on Monday. Apart from miner delays it did no course any problems. It tried to snow again on Wednesday but it never really settled and in the late evening it rain a little which melted most of the remaining snow from Monday and the rain on Thursday removed the rest.

Richard and Darren H tried organising a little get together for couple of drinks and a chat on Wednesday. Sadly only me, Richard and Darren turned up, but it was still a great night out. Just wish they said that they were planning on eating out to before hand.

Cyber-Tech Primers and Coach AJ
On Saturday I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a DreadBall Tournament. I had booked Saturday off work for it. I also got next week off as well (well this week) but that is just time off work to de-stress. I was almost late as the first of the two bus I need to get there was twenty minutes late. Luckily just I manage to catch the second one and I mean just. In the tournament I was using my Cyber-Tech Primers. (Please note I might have names and scores wrong and this was not a league.) The rules for the tournament can be found on Guardians of Tyr. In the first game I was up against another Robert who was borrowing a a Corporation team. I was win for most of the match but he managed to team it around at the last moment. He won by one points. After the first match we got 20mc to spend on extra players, coaching dice and cards. If I had a spar Guard I would have gone for one and a coaching dice, but as I do not, I went for three coaching dice. In the second game I was up against a player called Steven. He was using a Forge Fathers team. It ended at a tie, but as the tournament can not end with a tie, we had to go to tiebreakers rules. The first tiebreaker was the number of 4 point strikes, but we draw on that. So we moved onto the second tiebreaker, the most recovery time inflicted, which my opponent won. So I went down as as a lose. After the second game two chosen player each gain one random skill. I picked both of my guards and they both gained a +1 their strength. We had a launch break and then we started the third game. I was up against a Veer-myn player called Bob. I managed to win the game by two points. After the game we gained a MVP of our own chose. I went for Number 88. Yes I know he is broken, but I knew other people would be going for him. Fight fire with fire. On the fourth game four I was up against a Corporation player called Richard (not the Richard I know). He went for the MVP Buzzcut. OK, there is currently no figure for him, but Richard was using a very old Bloodball figure as him for now. I ended up winning the game with two points, but it was a very bloody match, each of us took three players out of play. Over all I ended up getting 6th place out of eight players and the Enforcer title. Due to the Enforcer title I am currently at 5th place in the Guardians of Tyr DreadBall 2013 Championship. The next tournament is in April and both Number 88 and Buzzcut are both banned due to being over powerful.

Now for some AJ Lee news. First of Raw on Monday the 11th of February. AJ was supporting Dolph Ziggler with Big E Langston like normal. However when AJ was standing on the edge of the ring during Dolph's match against Kane, Dolph was knocked into the ropes where AJ was and AJ was knocked off. Luckily Big E catch her, saving the Geek Goddess from injury. Dolph was distracted for making sure AJ was OK and Kane took advantage and won the match.

Next was Main Event on Wednesday the 13th of February. AJ was supporting Dolph Ziggler with Big E like normal. They crash Jericho's Highlight Reel show with replacement guess star Alberto Del Rio (The Miz was meant to be the guest but was he was injured on Raw this week). After that Dolph faced Del Rio in a match and lost.

Faye Valentine from
Cowboy Bebop
All Elimination Chamber news will be in next week's post (still in the middle of watching it).

Last week I forgot to say where the Lee in her wrestling name came from. Her full real name is April Jeanette Mendez. I always though it was from Stan Lee as she is a comic book fan. However in the anime interview she reviled it was from the name of the English voice actress of Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop, Wendee Lee.

MK HeroClix: Valentines Day 2013 - No time for love for crime fighters

Welcome to the MK HeroClix post. This is a weekly post with HeroClix news and results of Thursday's HeroClix game at MK Wargames Society at York House. This week there was previews of the New Teen Titans team base, Cyborg, Raven and Wonder Girl from DC Teen Titans. Two new HeroClix sets have been announced which are Dota 2 and (what the fuck, it is not April the 1st) Hello Kitty. Also the Iron Maiden is still happening and the new Mage Knight set is meant to with dials (a Mage Knight 2.0 one and a HeroClix one). On Personal news, I now have the Superman: Battle for Smallville fast forces.

This week’s game was 750 points, 5 actions, no figure over 125 point, the team must have eight figures (no more, no loss). I was at first going to do a Masters of Evil team, but I found it to be a pain to do. So I decided to try out two of the 10th Anniversary figures I picked up a while ago

Marvel Girl (006 Marvel HeroClix 10th Anniversary) 54
Wolverine (029 Marvel Chaos War) 90
Cyclops (008 Marvel Giant Size X-Men) 110
Beast (010 Marvel Giant Size X-Men) 95
Professor X (036 Marvel Giant Size X-Men) 123
Emma Frost (014 Marvel HeroClix 10th Anniversary) 114
Storm (048 Marvel Giant Size X-Men) 86
Psylocke (023 Marvel Giant Size X-Men) 74
=746 points and six re-rolls.

In the first round I was up against Adrian. He was using a Fantastic Four themed team who were:

Mr. Fantastic (101 Marvel Chaos War) 90 + Fantastic Force (ATA) 5 = 95
Invisible Woman (102 Marvel Chaos War) 80 + Fantastic Force (ATA) 5 = 85
Wolverine (035 Marvel Incredible Hulk) 70 + Fantastic Force (ATA) 5 = 75
Joe Fixit (036 Marvel Incredible Hulk) 115 + Fantastic Force (ATA) 5 = 120
Spider-Man (001 Marvel Secret Invasion) 50 + Fantastic Force (ATA) 5 = 55
Human Torch (103 Marvel Secret Invasion) 100 + Fantastic Force (ATA) 5 = 105
The Thing (104 Marvel Secret Invasion) 100 + Fantastic Force (ATA) 5 = 105
Ghost Rider (024 Marvel Fantastic Forces) 102 + Fantastic Force (ATA) 5 = 107
=747 points and six re-rolls.

This ended up be close. By time was called we each had KOed only one figure each. I KOed Mr. Fantastic and Adrian KOed my Wolverine. I won that game only by 5 victory points. Also Darren defeated Michael in their game. In the second round I was up against Darren. He was using a WildC.A.T.s themed team who were:

Void (035 DC Streets of Gotham) 70
Spartan Warrior Spirit (036 DC Streets of Gotham) 125
Emp (037 DC Streets of Gotham) 93
Grifter (012 DC Batman) 88
Maul (024 DC Batman) 113
Zealot (028 DC Batman) 75
Warblade (043 DC Batman) 92
Voodoo (054 DC Batman) 91
=747 points and six re-rolls.

Sadly for Darren, his dice rolls sucked and ended up winning. Also Adrian lost his game against his brother Michael. In the third and final round I was up against Michael. He was using an Avengers themed team who were:

Iron Man (009 Marvel HeroClix 10th Anniversary) 125
Thor (005 Marvel HeroClix 10th Anniversary) 100
Black Widow (007 Marvel Avengers Movie) 50
Hawkeye (208 Marvel Avengers Movie) 65
Hulk (027 Marvel Galactic Guardians) 124
Captain America (040 Marvel Hammer of Thor) 72
Black Panther (024 Marvel Avengers) 92
Spider-Man (060 Marvel Sinister) 106
=734 points and six re-rolls.

This ended up be close. By time was called we each had KOed only two figures each. I KOed Hulk and Hawkeye, while Michael KOed Wolverine and Storm. I won that game only by 13 victory points. Next week will be 600 points, 4 actions, no figure over 150 point, must be a named themed.

Until next time, Armour up.

Neoscream's Life: 4th to 10th of February

MSA-003 Nemo
Welcome to another week of my life. For those new to the blog, the "Neoscream's Life" posts are basically a weekly dairy of mine. It also includes the AJ Lee news; the latest Cosplay Deviants sets and news; my "Watch, Listen and Read" lists; and a painting/converting section with 7TV teams, DreadBall Figures and Super Dungeon Explorer (SDE will replace DreadBall in soon until the second wave of KickStarter stuff arrives).

On Monday evening their was a DreadBall demo and friendlies happening at Wargames Workshop. I went to get some practice for the Tournament that will be happening on the 16th of February. I got a game with my Cyber-Tech Primers against a Forge Fathers team and won. WOW. I won my first full rules DreadBall game. Sweet.

There was an emergency podcast from Manga Entertainment UK on Thursday. After years of effect, going back to the days of the crappie 4Kids dub, they have finally acquired the UK releasing rights for the epicness that is known as One Piece. They will be releasing the first 103 episodes in four box set in this year. The first box is scheduled to be released on the 28th of May, in time for London EXPO.

Now for some AJ Lee news. First off none wrestling next. During the week there an interview with AJ was post. The topic of the interview was about Anime. Yes, AJ is an anime fan. Hippy. Her favourite is Cowboy Bebop and she likes Dragon Ball Z (but not Kai), G Gundam (hippy a Gundam series) and InuYasha (been meaning to check it out as I watch a lot of Shounen anime).

Now the AJ WWE news. It has been a quite week for AJ. She was only involved in a none televised match that  Raw on Monday the 4th of February. After Raw went off the air and John Cena stating the six man tag match against the Shield, 'good friends' Dolph Ziggler and CM Punk with Big E Langston and AJ (no Paul Heyman) at their side challenge Cena and Ryback to a match. And like the earlier House Shows, Cena and Ryback won the match. Also AJ supported Dolph in a House Show match on Saturday, Dolph lost to Chris Jericho in a No DQ match.

If you have been reading my blog posts you might already known I am a big anime fan, mainly Mecha and Shounen shows. I like to take a moment to list my five favourite animes. So in no real order, as it varies due to how I feel at the time, here is my top five:

  • Evangelion (Neon Genesis and Rebuilding of). This was the first anime I brought and watched when I understand the difference between anime and cartoons.
  • Mobile Suit Gundam 00. This had knocked Mobile Suit Gundam Wing off my top five as Wing does age too fast.
  • Code Geass. Do to a bad preview I watch (the podcast Track-shun) I never saw the first season until the second season was airing. The preview slated it and did not show or mention the Mecha side. OK, Code Geass is more about the characters than the mecha, but seeing the mecha would have sold it to me sooner. Lucky Anime Pulse's review sold it to me.
  • Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex. The original movies were good but far prefer the series as it explores the characters and world more. I really need to get a hold of the mange one of these day. There is a new anime coming out for Ghost in the Shell, but there is no information if it is linked with Standalone Complex or the original movies and what format it will be: OVA, TV show or movie.
  • One Piece. The first time I saw One Piece, the 4kids dub, I do not like it. This may be due the terrible dub or the fact I was not use to the style of animation. After hearing Batou from Anime Pulse and the guys of Manga Pulse talking about One Piece and getting use to a more crazy art style from watching Soul Eater and very enjoyed it. The better dub helped.
Other notable mentions are Summer War, Ga-Rei Zero, all the Gundams (not including SD) and Kurokami (also known as Black God).

The plan is to add another character in the 300 rating team. It will be another Silicon Lord, but who will it be? Blackheart, or Deathlaw (not likely), or Cannon. Please remember the figure for Shen is a place holder at the moment. Next is seven more DreadBall figures. Another Orx player, the MVP Slippery Joe, four Veer-myn players and the MVP Number 88.

All the DreadBall stuff I have painted so far minus Coach AJ, plus the next wave of painting.

I have finally got a name for my Veer-myn team. As most people who seen them and comment about my paint job said they look like Harlequins, I decided to call them the Harlequin Hurricanes. So to re-track team names, my Corporation team is called the Cyber-Tech Primers and my Forge Fathers team the Megaton Miners. That just leaves my Marauders team that will be named when I finish painting the team. Next week's painting segment will have a the 200 rating upgraded version of my Black Knights team for 7TV.

Until next time, Armour Up.
