Gaming News from Neoscream: 27th November 2015

Welcome everybody to this week’s “Gaming News from Neoscream” post. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs and some card games, as well as my miniatures painting and upcoming local events.

“Gaming News”

First off we have the HeroClix news. We got previews of: Abominable Snowman from their Winter Prize Support.

Now for the Bushiroad news. With the WeißSchwarz side, today sees the release of the KanColle 2nd Fleet Booster Set in English.

Next is the Wyrd Games news. Do not forget that the Black Friday promotional has started on their webstore. For details please check last week's post or their webstore.

Now for the Cool Mini or Not news. The Arcadia Quest Inferno KickStarter is still going externally well. In fact they have beaten what the first KickStarter did and now they are on uncharted teruatry . Since the last post they have managed to unlock: The KickStarter exclusive heroes of Kragor, Julie, Mercury (the hero version Harpy), Tyrek and Tyndall; the KickStarter exclusive monsters Kragor, two Daemon Captains; Viola and Crash hero versions of the Daemon Captains as a non KickStarter exclusive add-on; the expansion Pets with the KickStarter exclusive pet Cerby as an add-on; the KickStarter exclusive Pet Nixon; the Angel "The Fallen Angel"; a Pet Pack add-on that contains three new pets; and dice bags for all the guild old and new as add-ons.
The stretch goals that are still going as I post this are: The KickStarter exclusive pet Bones at $830k; and two Hellcat monsters at $870.

Next is the Hawk Wargame news. Their KickStarter for Dropfleet Commander still continuous and since last week they have managed to unlock: An Activation Card Pack as an add-on; KickStarter Exclusive Battlecruisers for Scourge, Shaltari and PHR as add-ons; and a deluxe rulebook upgrade.
Stretch Goals that still going as I post this were: UCMF Admiral t-shirt as an add-on at £400; digital screensaver at £415k; Civilian Cruise Liner will be added to the Captain level pledge and above at £425k; Eden Prime Map Pack as an add-on at £440k; Resin Deluxe Cluster pack as an add-on at £460k; Dropfleet Commander poster as an add-on at £475k; a free Frigate Sprue of each race will be added to all level pledges at £500k; and a UCM Dog Tag will be added to all level pledges at 3k backers.

Now for the KickStarter "Warbears and Stagriders, Fantasy Wargames Miniatures" news. Sadly they have next unlocked anything this week. The next stretch goal is a Sorceress on a tiger at £7.5k. ThisKickStarter will be ending this coming Monday. Let us see how well they do.

Next is the Modiphius news. Sadly wave two of the Thunderbirds Co-Operative Board Game has been delayed by six weeks. However they have revealed that they have added a bonus item to the Hood expansion, Lady Penelope's home Creighton-Ward Manor.

Now for the Dragon Tide news. This KickStarter has started shipping to backers.

Next is the Guild Ball news. They have just released two more Season Two figures, the Brewer's Guild player Mash and the Mortician's Guild player Bonesaw.
Also for Black Friday they are selling a bunch of resins, most are the alternate Leaders from KickStarter.

Now for the Kingdom Death news. Three years ago today Kingdom Death Monster hit KickStarter which made over $2m. Now the game has been sent to backers and now they are just waiting for the expansions which they have no clue on when that will ship. So I dealt it will ship this year now.
They have finally added to the website the build instructions for the figures from Kingdom Death Monster and added a Resources section with FAQ and Beta rules for the Challenge Scenarios.
Oh and because its Black Friday the store was restocked with a ton of deals a a price change. So much it is hard to list them all individually. They have added all (or most) of the armour kits apart from Unarmoured. They are $50, however for today only they are $25. All the pin-ups and promos from the KickStarter, Dice Stone Face bases and a ton of plastic and resin figures related to Monster. Please check out their store for all the stuff in detail. Oh and the price change is that the RRP of Monster is now $400 instead of the $500 I thought it was.

Next is the Frostgrave news. Last week saw the release of the "Thaw of the Lich Lord" expansion and stuff for it.

Next here are other Black Friday sales happening in the gaming world that I know of. First Battle Foam are running sales till the 30th between 15% and 60% off a range of their products.
Hero Forge
Warlord Games are running several deals. Two major ones I like to point out are until 30th, buy any three vehicles from a selected list and get 20% off them. Also 50% of Plastic Sprues.
Battlefront are having a 33% off all of their Flames Of War range until December the 1st.
Hero Forge is doing a 20% off on their deal on their custom tabletop Miniatures if you enter the code "BLACKFRIDAY" in the checkout. I have been thing about testing this out for sometime now, especially since I started to look into Frostgrave. I have orders three figures today with this deal. Lets see how they come up look.

This last one might not be for the faint hearted. The one gaming company that no one expected to join the Black Friday deals has joined. Games Workshop. WTF. However it is only bundle deals ranging from £95 to £485 than reduced prices on individual items.
Also there was a bit of news from last week did not report about, however to my knowledge then it was just a rumour, but it was confirmed. Their Specialist Game section is returning with most if not all the old game. Necromunda and Blood Ball being two of the major games that will be returning. However they will be apart of Forge World instead of Games Workship. Please not this is still in the early planning so will take at least a year or two to see anything and we do not know how the old games will return (compete news, updated rules, reprint of the old rule, free PDFs, box game, hight cost hardback like 30k).

Neoscream's Life: 16th to 22nd November 2015

Welcome everyone to another the Neoscream's Life post. This is my weekly post of life (what should hopefully be safe to talk about), what games I have been playing, what I have been painting and what I have watching and reading. The current opening pictures are of Cardfight Vanguard clans. This week is Aqua Force from the Magallanica nation.

“Blog News”

On Friday I tested out writing the
blog posts in Blogger than word processors and then copy and paste. The HTML code was a ton less and it kept to a universal font and size. The only problem I found was that there was a lot of "Return" (new line) being inserted while adding pictures and the "Welcome" at the start of the post was reduced to "e". I will try to keep an eye on it, however I have moved to writing posts in Blogger (for now). However, the last could of day before posting this I have been having problems with the Blogger app updating on my phone and internet connection at times. Luckily I have realised a way around the app. Just edit the blog on the web browser like I do on the computer. OK I still have problem due to the internet connection when it plays up, but have can still work on it on the go when the app is being buggy.

"Life"

After work on Monday I went down to Wargames Workshop MK like normal. This time I was playing Malifaux with Dave. It was a fifty soul stone (points) game. I was using my Ten Thunders which my team was:

Misaki 0 + Recalled Training 1 + Untouchable 1 + Stalking Bisento 2 = 4
Ototo 10 + Call The Thunder 1 + Recalled Training 1 = 12
Yamaziko 7 + Recalled Training 1 + Servant of the Dragon 1 = 9
Shang 3
Samurai 8 + Favour of Jigoku 0 = 8
Torakage 6
Katanaka Sniper 7

Dave was using a Resurrectionists team with Sheamus as the leader. He was testing his team for a tournament (I think it was Nationals) he was going to soon. He destroyed my team. At least Misaki took out Sheamus. Yes I know that is not the goal of the game.

In the past have had a bunch of friends asking me some ideas of low count low budget Fantasy skirmish games with a campaign system. Something like Necromunda or Mordheim, but are being that is still being supported. Three games first came to mind as they were skirmish games. First was Warmachine/Hordes. However this was a higher model count than they wanted, it is not cheep and there is no campaign system for it. Next was Warhammer Age of Sigmar, however at it suffers from the same problems as Warmachine/Hordes. Lastly was Malifaux. It had a low model count as a standard craw are about seven figures and a standard pre-set craw is just under £35. Plus a new two player starter set was released and its great value. It also just get a campaign however it is not quite like what we wanted. Due that time I had heard of Frostgrave, but never really gotten around to look at it, until now. I have been watching the campaign Guerrilla Miniature Games and friends have been running and it hits a lot of ticks for what we ever after. It is Fantasy, it can be cheap as all you really need is random fantasy figures (plus the official stuff is quite cheep too), the maximum size of a warband is ten before modifiers, and it comes pre built with a campaign system than one tacked on YEARS later. My only problem is that only the wizard advances during a campaign. I have order the rulebook and show it off to the guys as soon as I can.

“HeroClix”

On Thursday I went down to York House for HeroClix. Last week’s scenario was “Memories of the Four”. 500 points. Most have four characters, no more, no less. No figure over 150 points and one figure must have been a member of the Fantastic Four. I chose the Fantastic Four What If Iron Man and made an Avengers themed team who were:

Iron Man (101 Marvel Galactic Guardians) 150
Black Widow (091 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 110
War Machine (029a Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 125
Ms. Marvel (023 Marvel Chaos War) 110
=495 points

On the first round I was up against Adrian who was using also using an Avengers themed team who were:

Scarlet Witch (006 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 150
Iron Man (001a Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 150
Black Panther (007 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 100
Storm (020 Marvel HeroClix 10th Anniversary) 98
=498 points

I sadly lost this game. Also Darren S won his game against Michael. On the second round I was up against Michael who was using a Fantastic Four themed team who were:

Mr. Fantastic (037 Marvel Galactic Guardians) 130
Thing (038 Marvel Galactic Guardians) 140
She-Hulk (007 Marvel Incredible Hulk) 105
Joe Fixit (036 Marvel Incredible Hulk) 115
=490 points

I shockingly lost the game, however Black Widow did do a lot of damage to his team with chipping away a point of damage at a time. Also Darren S won his game against his Adrian. On the third and final round I was up against Darren S who was using a Champions themed team where:

Black Widow (091 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 110
Ghost Rider (046 Marvel Amazing Spider-Man) 145
Darkstar (043 Marvel Captain America) 98
Hercules (026 Marvel Incredible Hulk) 131
Avengers Round Table (R100 Marvel Age of Ultron event) 5
Hawkeye (ID-002 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 5
Hank Pym (ID-100 Marvel Fast Forces Age of Ultron event) 5
=499 points

Like normal against Darren I lost this game too. Also Adrian won his game against his brother Michael.

There is no Heroclix this week. I will post next week’s scenario ever in next week's post or this week's "Gaming News from Neoscream" post.

"Loot Crate"

On Saturday I received November's Loot Crate. The theme this time was combat. It came with:
  • Exclusive Cute But Deadly Magnet set
  • Exclusive Fallout 4 Vault Boy Bobble Head
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder Sunglasses
  • The Hunger Games Mocking Jay Part 2 Pin
  • Exclusive Street Fighter Hyper Looting Comic Book
  • Cute But Deadly Vinyl Mystery Figure (Zeratul)
  • And the monthly badge and mag

I for some odd reason really like this crate.  Yes it I wish it had a t-shirt, however the Cute But Deadly stuff oddly really makes it great for some odd reason. Maybe because I really like the Zeratul figure in it is the real reason I like it. I have a strong feeling that I will be trying to find a way to use him in games. Maybe I will use him as a genie or a daemon for Frostgrave if I start playing it.

December's theme has been revealed and is will be Galaxy to celebrate Star Wars episode 7. Also from December onward, ALL Loot Crates will have a t-shirt. OK this makes me rethink the whole Anime Crate thing. Talking about the Anime Crate, the theme will be Brawl and will featuring items from Attack on Titan, Naruto Shippuden and more.

"Painting and Converting"

For this post I have for you all a Valkyrie in Battloid mode from Robotech RPG Tactics and Ototo and a Torakage for Maliflaux.

On Friday's post I should have for you all two more Torakages from Maliflaux, plus Sonja and Montoya from Arcadia Quest. During the week I managed to finish painting six Zombie figures. I also under coated a bunch of a bunch of Kingdom Death Monster figures and some Guild Ball figures. Below is an image of my painting table at the end of last Sunday night or the start of Monday morning.

Gaming News from Neoscream: 20th November 2015

The Scourge Fleet from Dropfleet Commander
Welcome everybody to this week’s “Gaming News from Neoscream” post. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs and some card games, as well as my miniatures painting and upcoming local events.

“Blog News”

After seeing another blogging last Saturday during her spare time I wanted to retry writing the blogs of Blogger than on Word processing software than copy and paste to Blogger. This added a crap ton of HTML code that made formatting the posts a nightmare. I did try doing it in Blogger back when I first got a HTC Flyer years ago, however there was a dating issue I did not like. The post would be dated the date I started to write it instead of the date I posted it. Luckily it looks like this error over time has been fix and I will be retrying again. However I will still need to do images on a computer than on my phone as the Blogger app still does not allow me to place them where I wait. Let's hope it will work this time.

“Gaming News”

First off we have the HeroClix news. We got previews of: Three different versions of Wonder Woman from DC Superman/Wonder Woman.

Now for the Bushiroad news. With the WeißSchwarz side, today sees the release of the Symphogear GX Booster Set in Japanese. Also next Friday will be the release of the KanColle 2nd Fleet Booster Set in English.
With the Cardfight Vanguard side, today sees the release of G Comic Booster 1: Vanguard and Deletor in English.

Aiomus, Lord of Time
Next is the Ninja Division news. Ninja All-Stars is currently being packed up in China and should be on the water headed towards fulfilment centres soon.

Now for the Wyrd Games news. This week they revealed their Black Friday promotional figures. First the special edition models available during Black Friday sales are Nightmare Coryphee for $35, Kaeris's crew in translucent orange for $50, Jakob Lynch's crew in translucent purple for $45, Kaeris's crew in dayglow orange for $50 and Jakob Lynch's crew in dayglow purple for $45. If you buy $150 or more of stuff from their web store during Black Friday you will get an alternative version Firestarter and an alternative version Francisco. If you buy $300 or more of stuff from their web store during Black Friday you will also get an alternative version Barbaros and Dr. Dufresne who counts as McMourning. Next they have a ton of stuff on early release during the sale (sorry I am not listing them) which includes a 10th Anniversary of Maliflux, the twelve soul stone Outcast Mercenary called Aionus Lord of Time. Their Black Friday sales will last for one week.

All the original sculpts from the Inferno boxset
Next was the Cool Mini or Not news. The Arcadia Quest Inferno KickStarter started on Monday and it has been doing well. There is only one backer level which is called "Hell of a Pledge" and it comes with the new game, the KickStarter exclusive hero King David III and all on add-on stretch goals.
They have managed to unlock so far: The expansion was funded; a KickStarter exclusive Dice Bag; an extra sculpt for both the Harpy and Demoness minions; the KickStarter exclusive heroes Lucas, Annika, Lord Tyron, Tigris, Annabelle, Tao, Dris, Gabriel, Britney (a hero version of the Demoness), Thornwood, Johnny and Sarya; twenty sculpted wound tokens; twenty sculpted death tokens; twenty sculpted plastic coins tokens; four sculpted guild tokens for each of the four new guilds; one attack die four each of the new guilds; two defence dice; thirty sculpted damnation tokens; The Fall of Arcadia campaign download book using stuff from the original game and Inferno; the Frost Dragon box expansion with the KickStarter exclusive hero Hilda as a add-on; Hellfire Token pack; classic Arcadia Quest stuff as add-ons; metal coin add-ons; one attack die four each of the new guilds and two standard defence dice; and the Heroes Mamba and Rosh as an add-on.
The stretch goals that are still going as I post this are: KickStarter exclusive hero and monster version of Kragor at $600k.
As I had backed the original KickStarter and have been playing game (and enjoying it), I have backed this one.

Now for the Hawk Wargame news. Their KickStarter for Dropfleet Commander still continuous and since last week they have managed to unlock: One free PHR Frigate Sprue that makes up four Frigates was added to the Captain level pledge and above and one free PHR Cruiser Sprue that makes up one cruiser was added to all level pledges.
Stretch Goals that still going as I post this were: An Activation Card Pack as an add-on at £370k; deluxe rulebook upgrade at $390k; UCMF Admiral t-shirt as an add-on at £400; digital screensaver at £415k; Civilian Cruise Liner will be added to the Captain level pledge and above at £425k; Eden Prime Map Pack as an add-on at £440k; Resin Deluxe Cluster pack as an add-on at £460k; Dropfleet Commander poster as an add-on at £475k; a free Frigate Sprue of each race will be added to all level pledges at £500k; and a UCM Dog Tag will be added to all level pledges at 3k backers.

Next is the Mantic news. They are close to finishing shipping Dungeon Saga. In fact I received the two figures I backed it for. Tyrant King Blaine and Venetia Beriassor the Human Cleric.

Also this week I backed the KickStarter "Warbear
s and Stagriders, Fantasy Wargames Miniatures". It is a small KickStarter for two mounted figures with several other figures as infant add-on. The figures are a Princess on a stag and a Roman like generic guy on an armoured bear. Since starting they have funded the two figures and a third figures. The third figure a female archer on a bear.
The next stretch goal is a Sorceress on a tiger at £7.5k.
I have backed it for the female archer on a bear as it reminds me of Laura Bailey's character from Critical Role, Vex'ahlia (Vex). Now that is an idea for a paint scheme for this figure.

Neoscream's Life: 9th to 15th November 2015

Welcome everyone to another the Neoscream's Life post. This is my weekly post of life (what should hopefully be safe to talk about), what games I have been playing, what I have been painting and what I have watching and reading. The current opening pictures are of Cardfight Vanguard clans. This week is Bermuda Triangle from the Magallanica nation.

“Blog News”

As you can see above, I have massively reworked this post's introduction. It also talks about the weekly opening picture so new people can understand why it is there and gain a little understanding about it. Hope people enjoy the new up to date one.

"Life"

After work on Monday I went down to Wargames Workshop MK like normal. This time I was playing Thunderbirds Co-operative Board with Michael and Dave. I had tried doing a couple of solo games during my week off and sadly I last both games, however we managed to win. They was a lot of close calls and good luck. After Thunderbirds we played a game of Boss Monster, which Michael won.
On Tuesday I spent the evening building a new cat tower for my mum’s cats.
During the week my manager, the baka Immad, was teaching me a new word from his language, kutti. I will not say here what it means, but he always calls a certain person who has returned back to BK. I decided to call her Cute Kutti. She seemed to like it. I could say oddly, but she always seems to prefer people being nasty to her than people being nice/kind to her. Maybe I should keep on calling her that.
On Saturday before going to the Cardfight Vanguard tournament, I briefly meet up with Richard and Darren H for coffee.

“HeroClix”

On Thursday I went down to York House for HeroClix. Last week’s scenario was “Couples Night”. 500 points. The team must have a comic book or other media couple (Cyclop and Jean Grey for example). Both partners gains the others Keywords and they are able to carry each other regardless of symbols (and does not suffer the -2 movement doing so). Yes that means that the tiny Wasp and carry the colossal Giant Man. The couple I went for is a newish married couple, Shadow Cat (Kitty Pryde) and Star-Lord. My team were:

Shadowcat (204 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 70 + Guardians of the Galaxy (ATA) 4 = 74
Star-Lord (030 Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy comics) 110 + Guardians of the Galaxy (ATA) 4 = 114
Groot (051 Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy comics) 100 + Guardians of the Galaxy (ATA) 4 = 104
Rocket Raccoon (052 Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy) 80 + Guardians of the Galaxy (ATA) 4 = 84
Drax (011 Marvel Galactic Guardians) 121 + Guardians of the Galaxy (ATA) 4 = 125
=501 points

On the first round I was up against Michael was using also using a Lady Liberators (and technology Avengers too) themed team who were (I think):

Was this really a couple?
Invisible Woman (057 Marvel Captain America) 110
Spider-Woman (037 Marvel Chaos War) 82
Wasp (030 Marvel Chaos War) 77
Black Widow (001 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 110
100 AVX001E Captain America (001 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 100
=479 points

I managed to win this game. Also Darren S won his game against Adrian. On the second round I was up against Darren S who was using a Teen Titans themed team who were:

Starfire (077 DC Teen Titans) 114
Superboy (026 DC Teen Titans) 158
94 D10A009 Blue Beetle (009 DC HeroClix 10th Anniversary) 94
Raven (030 DC Icons) 73
Robin (001 DC Teen Titans) 50
=489 points

Like normal Darren S won, however I did take out Blue Beetle. Also Adrian won his game against his brother Michael. On the third and final round I was up against Adrian who was using an Excalibur themed team who were:

Star-Lord (001 Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy movie) 95
Colossus (002 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 100
Shadowcat (204 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 70
Longshot (009 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 75
Cerise (023b Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 60
Pete Wisdom (022 WizKids Marvel LEs) 100
=500 points

I managed to win this game with easy. I think the fact I could not be Outwited had a factor. Also Darren S won his game against Michael.

This week’s scenario will be “Memories of the Four”. 500 points. Most have four characters, no more, no less. No figure over 150 points and one figure must have been a member of the Fantastic Four.

“Loot Crate”

No, I have not gotten the November's Crate, I think they have not started sending them yet. I just giving you some Loot Crate news for once. From next week they will be starting the Loot Anime crate. This will be a new monthly mystery subscription crate service featuring an assortment of figures, collectibles, manga, apparel, accessories, snacks and more from some of your favourite anime and manga series. The closest to this they ever done was the Titan theme carte they did in March 2014. I might swap from the normal crate to this one. However if I do that, I will also go for the Wearable Level Up. I have no idea if the theme of Loot Anime will be the same as the standard Loot Crate like the Level Ups or not.

“Cardfight Vanguard Tournament”

On Saturday I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a Cardfight Vanguard tournament. This time they were running a doubles tournament. My partner was using an Aqua Force deck while I was decided to use my Cosmic Hero Dimensional Police deck over my new Genesis deck as it was the deck I felt more comfortable with and they was a ton of new players. In fact there was twenty five players turned up for the tournament. Wow, Shell's fame must be attracting people to travel to our little store.
We draw our first game, lost the second two games, won the fourth game and then the team of Shell and Keaton beat us. Sadly we did not get into the top four playoffs. There seemed to be a good of clans including Spike Brothers and Murakumo.
With the booster I brought, got, won and traded I managed to improve my Cosmic Hero Dimensional Police, Genesis and Touken Ranbu decks, finished my Angel Feathers deck and maybe improve my Nova Grappler deck too.

"Painting and Converting"

For this post I have for you all Mallet and Marbles from Guild Ball and a Valkyrie in Jet mode from Robotech RPG Tactics.

On Friday's post I should have for you all a full set of a Valkyrie and a Valkyrie in Guardian mode from Robotech RPG Tactics. During the week I managed to finish painting four Arcadia Quest figures. I also under coated a bunch of a bunch of Zombicide figures and a Kingdom Death Monster figure. Below is an image of my painting table at the end of last Sunday night or the start of Monday morning. Sadly this time I for got to do it until just before posting this so more has been done.
