Neoscream's Life: 6th to 19th June 2016

Welcome everybody to another the "Neoscream's Life" post. This is my weekly post of life, what games I have been playing, what I have been painting and what I have watching and reading. This week's Kingdom Death opening (Well second due to the look) pictures is the Wet Nurse.

"Blog News"

Sorry for the lack of posts last week. I had busy with training for the Cardfight Vanguard team Nationals, playing Transformer Earth Wars and suffering from a cold.

"Life"

On Monday the 6th of June I went to Wargames Workshop MK for the fifth part of the Frostgrave campaign. My Wizard only gained two levels again. With the first level I upped her Hit Points and with the second she learned the spell Wall. My Captain also finally gained his first level. I decided to up his Hit Points. Sadly I lost my Warhound and a Thug. Which I need to replace.

On Friday the 10th of June I went down to Simon's with Richard and Darren H for some Kingdom Death Monster. We were up against the Kingsman again. This time it was a level two. It was a nightmare. An orange humanoid fish kept on appearing in front of the Survivors cry out something. Away we lost two survivors during this Showdown phases and a third (one one with the Twilight Sword) was cursed by the King's Curse. Due to the length of the battle took, we did not have time for the settlement phase.

On Tuesday the 14th and Wednesday the 15th of June I had some Vanguard practice with Liam, Shell and Crawford, as well as Matt on Wednesday and Jordan and Jonathan on Thursday. We worked on a new secret deck. There was talks of Training on Monday 13th of June as well at Wargames Workshop MK, but it never happened.

Sadly there was no HeroClix on both Thursdays due to people being busy.

During both week’s I was suffering from a cold. It was not anything major, it was nothing to wright or talk about normally. However the first couple of days of the first week I was a little out of it and then last Friday just before Springfest I was really knocked out by the cold in pain all around my head. Luckily it had cleared by Springfest.

"Cardfight Vanguard Tournament"

On Saturday the 11th of June, I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a Sneak Peek for G-BT07 "Glorious Bravery of Radiant Sword". Sadly Due to numbers that did not happen. Luckily There was a normal tournament to jump into. I decided to us my Nova Grappler deck. Sadly I cannot remember the results (due to how long I left it to wright this), but I did not do well. If I remembered correctly, it was more to do with time. Beeping Dyspraxia.

"Springfest Bushiroad 2016"

On Saturday the 11th of June, I went down to Huddersfield with Liam, Crawford and Jordan for Team Nationals. Sadly at the last moment Matt and Shell pulled out due to sickness. Luckily for Liam (they were his team mates), he managed to find a team online that were missing a member for other problems.

Talking about teams, I have been forgetting to talk about my team change. I was originally meant to be with Jackie and another Robert. However, due to major transport problems due to costs (over £105 per person, leaving about midnight with long waits in between stations and arrive too early) and a opening in Jordan's and David's team which includes a cheaper/better transport to the event, I ended changing teams.

Anyway, we meet up with David, Jonathan, Sam and Liam's new team mates at Huddersfield and then registered. I was using the new deck that I built during the week with the help of the others. It was a all new Cosmic Heroes deck. Jordan was using a Tachikaze deck and David was using a Kagerō deck. I managed to win my game the second round and both David and Jordan won their games on the round four. Due to the press getting to David we dropped out after the fifth round. Liam's team also dropped out then after turn five too. So we got in some trades in. I managed to finally got my fourth Cool Hank and Bustered for my Nova Grapple deck. Sadly David left. Liam managed to get a ton of cards for Shell. Jonathan's, Sam's and Crawford's team dropped out after round six. We decided to go and get lunch (which turned into more of a dinner) and then returned for more trading. We did take longer trading as Crawford (and Jordan) kept on going off for "Just one more Trade". We got back home about 9:30.

It was a great day out with the guys. Wish I could have gotten more games in or more trades or a game of Luck and Logic. But is was still a great day and I do plan on going to Solos in August.

"Painting and Converting"

During the two weeks I sadly only managed to finish painting one figure. A Doctor Who one. Because of this I have decided to not do any "Painting and Converting" sections this week.

Neoscream's Life: 16th to 22nd May 2016

Welcome everybody to another the "Neoscream's Life" post. This is my weekly post of life, what games I have been playing, what I have been painting and what I have watching and reading. This week's Kingdom Death opening pictures is the Sunstalker.

Sorry about being a day late, I was busy with work and the cinema yesterday.

"Life"

Due to the stag do and the fact that I had not gotten around to pre-booked a game, I decided to not go to Wargames Workshop MK so I could recover more. However I did go twice on Friday. First time was in the morning to get some training and trading for Cardfight Vanguard do with my team mates and Shell. I managed to win two out of the three games against Robert. I was shocked to win the final one as I did a couple of miss plays that I thought would have cost be the game. The second time was in the evening where a group of us got to gather to play and trade Cardfight Vanguard and Force of Will. On both times I brought a box of the new Fighter's Collection set.

"HeroClix"

There was a last minute change of plan. The original scenario was push back to next week. Instead we did a sealed event using Darren S's brick of the new Marvel set, Uncanny X-Men.

On the first round we played at 300 points. My team was (as they are all from the same set I did not list the set they are from this week):

Prism (013) 35
Scrambler (015) 30
John Greycrow (017) 60
Cyclops (024) 100
Quicksilver (054) 75
=300 points

I was up against Adrian who was:

Nightcrawler (002) 50
Cyclops (021) 50
Warpath (019) 60
Sunfire (043b) 120
=280 points

Shock horror his team was themed, X-Men. Sadly I lost. Also Michael shockingly won his game against Darren S. The second round was 400 points. My team this time was:

John Greycrow (017) 60
Cyclops (024) 100
Quicksilver (054) 75
Vanisher (018) 40
Juggernaut (039) 120
=395 points

I was up against Darren S who was using:

Wolverine (006) 50
Arclight (009) 50
Jean Grey (025) 100
Iceman (036) 100
Omega Red (042) 90
=390 points

Like normal Darren S won the game. However we both agree that Iceman is too good. Also Adrian managed to win his game against Michael. The third and final round was 500 points. I was using this time:

John Greycrow (017) 60
Cyclops (024) 100
Vanisher (018) 40
Juggernaut (039) 120
Colossus (001) 50
Emma Frost (005a) 80
Prism (013) 35
=485 points

I was up against Michael who was using:

Riptide (014) 45
Stonewall (016) 70
Magneto (029) 50
Juggernaut (030) 150
Super Sabre (032) 70
Nightcrawler (044) 60
Storm (003) 50
=495 points

I also lost this game too if I remember right, however it was close.

This Thursday's scenario is David(s) and Goliath. Build two 300 points team.

With Team One, "Goliath", you must only have one single figure and it must be from your own collection. No other figure allowed in this team.

With Team Two, "David(s)", the maximum cost of individual figures is 100 points and you can borrow figures from other players.

As these games should be quite quick we will make this a six round event. It each round you play as David or Goliath while the other player will play as the other.

"Painting and Converting"

For this post I have for you all a Zombie and four Treasure Tokens for Frostgrave.

During the week I managed to finish painting three figures for Zombicide and four figures for Kingdom Death Monster.

In the next "Gaming News from Neoscream" post I should have for you all two more Treasure Tokens and two Spikeshells for Frostgrave and three Skeleton Warriors for Dungeon Saga.

Below is an image of my painting table at the end of last Sunday night or the start of Monday morning.

Neoscream's Life: 26th January to 1st February 2015

Season Two Female Corporation Team

Welcome to the new Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of what games I have been playing, what I watch and news on the great Geek Goddess, AJ (when she is not injured).

“Blog News”

Sadly there is still no sign of AJ yet. I have a bad felling we will not be seeing her until after the next Pay-per-view, Fast Lane.

Due to a massive build-up in painted figures now, I will be adding an extra “Painting and Converting” section to this post from now on. However this and the one in the “Gaming News from Neoscream” post will each be a lower number of figures per post compared to the old once a week section, but it will be fifty percent more a week between the two posts than in just one post.

My Battle Angels Team with Alita and AJ

Oh and here is a shout out to the Baka from work, Immad.

“Arcadia Quest”

On Monday night both me and Roxy (who was visiting) went to Wargames Workshop MK for some games of Arcadia Quest. I had ten out of the twelve heroes from the starter just about finished. I have started on Friday to post the first wave of five, however I do think that the second wave are much better. I have a feeling that more love was put into them. Well anyway, we got two games in and we did start on a third game, however we had to call it quits due to time. We played the “District of Hammers” scenario first which I won, the “Brightsun Arena” scenario which I won too, and the third one that we never finished was the “The Moon Gate” scenario.

“HeroClix”

Like normal on a Thursday, I went to York House to play some HeroClix. We played a "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” scenario which is 400 points, four figures (no more no less), no figure over 100 points. One figure will be Famine and will get penetrating Poison. One figure will be Pestilence and will get Steel Energy that cannot be reduced below one damage. One figure will be War and will gain penetrating Quake. And the final figure will be Death and will gain double victory points for all figures it KOs. I went for an X-Men themed team who were:

Colossus (002 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 100 (Famine)

Wolverine (001 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 100 (Pestilence)

Beast (010 Marvel Giant Size X-Men) 95 (War)

100 MU014 Bishop (014 Marvel Mutations and Monsters) 100 (Death)

=395 points and four TTPCs.

On the first round I was up against Adrian who was using an Avengers themed team. His team was:

Scarlet Witch (006 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 100 (Famine)

Spider-Man (004 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 100 (War)

Black Panther (007 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 100 (Death)

Rogue (021 Marvel WizKids) 99 (Pestilence)

=399 points and four TTPCs.

Sadly I ended up losing. Also Darren S won his game against Michael. On the second round I was up against Michael who was using an X-Men themed team. His team was:

Archangel (049 Marvel Giant Size X-Men) 99 (Death)

Polaris (025 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 94 (Famine)

Cyclops (009 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 100 (War)

Emma Frost (010 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 100 (Pestilence)

=393 points and four TTPCs.

Sadly I also lost this game too. Also Adrian won his game against Darren S. On the third and final round I was up against Darren S who was using an X-Men theme team. His team was:

Colossus (002 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 100 (Famine)

Husk (027 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 100 (Pestilence)

Banshee (051 Marvel Deadpool) 98 (War)

Cyclops (009 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 100 (Death)

=398 points and four TTPCs.

Like normal against Darren S, I lost. Also Adrian won his game against his brother Michael. Over all Adrian won this week.

On this Thursday we should be playing (unless it gets pushed back) a "War of Kings” scenario which is 500 points, the team must have at least one figure with the Ruler keyword. Choose a figure with the Ruler keyword, that ruler is King. King figures have Master Mind and if they KO another King you gain 50 extra Victory Points.

“Silver Age Sentinels”

On Friday evening me Richard and Darren when down to Simon’s for a game of Silver Age Sentinels. We continued from when we left off last time. We had just defeated an alien invasion and another team of super heroes appeared to take in to custody an NPC that was helping us. After sorting out the confusion, the aliens attacked again. The heroes fought them and a laud us to escape. Sadly the aliens ended up capturing the heroes and clocked off. We are currently trying to find them, however we managed to learn that the aliens have technology to steal powers from metahumans. Oh Crap. We left my character's ship and Darren H character's sidekick searching while we meet up with an old friend of Darren's character who needed his help. The guy's son who works for the Russian Super Human project has gone missing and he felt like he was being followed. We went looking for his son and bumped into a bunch of humans with the same weapons as the aliens. We got some Information on where he is and manage to escape when the military appeared for some unknown reason. This is where we ended the session. The next one should be on Friday 13th of February.

“WWE Royal Rumble Results”

In the preshow match the team of Cesaro and Tyson Kidd defeated The New Day members Big E and Kofi Kingston in a tag team match.

Next The Ascension destroyed The New Age Outlaws in a tag team match.

After that the tag team champions The Usos defeated the team of The Miz and Damien Mizdow retain their titles

Next sadly the Bella Twins defeated the team of Paige and Natalya in a divas tag team match.

After that Brock Lesnar sadly defeated John Cena, oh and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It was a good match, just pissed that Brock Lesnar is still champion. Sadly I have to say it, but I would have preferred that Seth Rollins over Brock Lesnar. Please note I was cheering for John Cena.

Lastly Roman Reigns won the 30-man Royal Rumble match for a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 31. One of my two bets to win. The other was Daniel Bryan. Sadly this did not go down well with the fans as most of them wanted Daniel Bryan or Dolph Ziggler (and there are some freaks wanted Bray Wyatt) to win.

“Loot Crate”

OK, last week I said I would do this as its only post. However, I kept on forgetting to do it (but I did take the photo. So I am doing it here. January's Crate was fantastic. The theme was Rewind. It has a Voltron t-shirt, a geek black tie, 8-bit sunglasses, a great little games cartridge figure (I would have preferred the Dr. Who one), a Star Wars comic and a comic book note book for making your own comic books.

February's theme will be Play. As a war/board gamer, I cannot wait to see what will be in it. Oh and next week I will be doing the crate from November 2014.

“Painting and Converting”

This post's figures are three more Arcadia Quest heroes. These are Grom, Hobsbawm and Johan.
