Neoscream's Painting Table: Birthday and MIA. 29th May 2017
Hi everyone to another blog post. Sorry about the long wait for a post. I have been distracted with work, birthday, room, shed and playing a mobile game called Sword Art Online Memory Defrag. So this will be a double bill with brief information on last week's games.
Just a heads up, as there is only real HeroClix happening this week, there will most likely be no post for this week.
Saturday the 13th was my Birthday. I began my day with a Cardfight Vanguard Tournament (which I will cover later in the post. After that, I meet up with a bunch of friends and family for a meal art Pizza Hut and then a smaller group of us watched Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2. I was a good day. OK, yes there are things that could have improved it, but it was still a great day.
With my Shed, I have managed to do a major clear out and a bit of a reorganisation of it. It is now more or less ready. Just a couple of things for my dad to do when he is feeling better and I would like to reorganise the draws I store all my unassembled/unpainted miniatures.
With my bedroom, I have started work on the DVDs. I just have to order two more LARGE folders and then I can move on to my CDs, console games, and PC stuff (like old PC game).
I also received some foam heads which I brought to display my masks and old cosplay bits on my top shelf. Sadly they are causing some major problems. It makes my Optimus Prime voice changer mask too big for the shelf, due to the lightness of the foam heads, the Iron Man mask is too heavy for the head to stand up and then the other two old cosplay get-ups (Kakashi from Naruto and Cyclops from X-Men) will not stay on the foam heads. The foam heads seem to be more of a waste of money and time, but I might have had some ideas to try to save them. Is the one for the Optimus Prime voice changer mask I could probably try cut down the neck area to help it fit in. With the one for the Iron Man mask I need to find a way to lose weight down and so it does not fall over. With the other two, I have invested into and all sided Sellotape to try to hold things like the face mask for Kakashi and the visor for Cyclops. However, I best wait for cosplay friend to return from London Comic Con to ask for advice about this before doing anything.
I only got several things left that I get up in my bedroom. I still need to sort out the shelves in the towers. Reorganise the two shelves above my computer and TV. Tidy up my surfaces. Finish covering the mirror on my wardrobe and cover the glass above my door to block out the light.
There are no photos of the shed at the moment as I have not taken any and there are a LOT of room photos that will take up most of this post.
Sadly I have not done much painting over the past two weeks. I have only finished one KDM miniature. However, I have done a little model building. I have built another member of my Frostgrave Warband and two Tau Drones for Shadow War Armageddon. Sadly I still have not set up the photo box yet.
Cardfight Vanguard Tournament One
On my Birthday, I went to Wargames Workshop MK for a Cardfight Vanguard Tournament. I was using my Nova Grappler deck. As I writing this over two weeks after the event this will be brief. I won about one or two of the rounds but never made it to the final cut off.
Kingdom Death Monster
On Monday the 15th of May I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a game of Kingdom Death Monster with my Wargames Workshop MK KDM group. Again, I am writing this about two weeks after the event so this will be brief. The only one from the ground that did not turn up was Michael as sadly he was in the hospital. We hunted a level one Gorm. We managed to win the game. However, both Adrian's and Wai-Yin's characters had to be retired. Adrian's was due to the fact that his character got the disorder that made him retire. Wai-Yin's was due to the fact that her character received a broken back severe injury and now can only carry strength one weapons. Due to bank holidays, Frostgrave and people being away, the next club game will not be happening until at least the second Monday of June at the earliest. With my other group that meets up at Simon's place, we have to wait for the elections to be over, due to Richard's being busy as secretary of that Liberal Democrats in our area and Simon was on Holiday.
HeroClix (Both Weeks)
On Thursday the 18th of May, I went down to York House for some HeroClix game. Again, this will be brief as I am writing this over a week after the event. The scenario was "Tinker (scientist), Tailor (armour), Solider, Spy". 400 points, six actions, no figure above 150 points. Your team must be a generic theme teams. Mixing Universes will be allowed on this occasion. I ended up using a Soldier team who were:
Brandt (011 Marvel Iron Man 3) 78
Extremis Soldier (005 Marvel Iron Man 3) 30
Cammy (009 Street Fighter) 80
Guile (018 Street Fighter) 105
War Machine (004 Marvel Captain America Civil War) 105 + Iron Man is Right (Trait) 5 = 110
=403 points
I lost all three games sadly.
The next HeroClix game was on Thursday the 25th of May. This time we were doing a sealed event using Darren S's brick of Marvel Avengers vs Defenders. I pulled what might have been the best two boosters as they had both the Dr. Strange and Ghost Rider super rare figures. Darren S by the look of things pulled the worst two. I managed to win all three games.
Casual Card Games
On both Saturday the 20th and Tuesday the 23rd of May I meet up Liam and some of the other card gamers at the Toby Carvery for some card gaming as some of them are planning on going to Nationals in June. I also traded my old Genesis Deck for a new one. It is basically a non-foil The Aichi Sendou legend deck with two Blaster Blades instead of one. Just have to do some improvements like adding two more Blaster Blades and adding more Blaster cards.
Shadow War Armageddon
On Monday the 22nd of May I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for my first ever game of Shadow War Armageddon (Shadow War for short). It is a new game from Games Workshop using updated Necromunda rules and figure from they Warhammer 40,000 (40k for short) range. It was a long time since I played Necromunda/second edition 40k (currently they ar at seventh edition, but eight is coming out in June), so I have to get back into the rules. As I still have my old 40k Tau back from Third Edition, I was set to use them. Sadly Shadow War uses only the new Pathfinders from the Tau, which I never got as they were made of metal back then, and I was collecting Tau and I was for going for themecha suits battlesuits. I ended up using Fire Warriors and my nude Female Tau Sniper I brought from Wargame Exclusive. With the drones, I did decide to buy the Pathfinders (which are plastic nowadays) on the day and quickly built the drones I needed. I never build the Pathfinders as I have ordered online some conversation parts to make some of them into female Tau. Anyway, Bob was using his old Necrons (well, they were much newer than my Tau). The was swinging both ways. Bob had the longer range and better BS (Ballistic Skill), but his dice rolls were CRAP. I had the numbers and a way to ignore cover. However, my main guns were all failing Ammo rolls too early. My sniper failed after the second shot while my Recon Drone failed after the first. I had managed to lower Bob's team to bottling level first. However, due to the high Ld (Leadership) of the Necrons, he managed to stay on until he finally made my team bottle. During the game, we did forget something, Nerve tests. Never mind. Overall, we had fun and I would like to try this again as a campaign.
Cardfight Vanguard Tournament Two
On Saturday the 27th of May I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for another Cardfight Vanguard Tournament. Sadly there was no Wai-Yin as she was away cosplaying at London Comic Con, there was not Shell as she was running the comic book store (Magic Kingdom Comics), and Matt was not there too. Overall there was nine of us playing in the tournament. I decided to use my new Blaster Blade deck which I had some minor improvements to it. Sadly I did not do too well, as I am still getting used to this deck and still need to work on it. One of the rounds was so damn close, but we ran out of time before I could finish my attack. Liam managed to win the tournament using a heavily upgraded Aichi Sendou legend deck. At the end of the tournament, I did manage to trade for a third copy of Blaster Blade. Just need one more copy now. The next main set should be a major help for improving the deck as well.
Computer Gaming
On Sunday the 28th of May, I meet up with Darren H, Simon and Richard online for some online gaming. We played, while tried to play, Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide. Simon had major computer problems and had to drop out and the rest of us were getting MAJOR lag issues. We did manage to complete one game and almost finish a second until the game kicked us off and restarted it. After that, we called t a night. We might try Overwatch in the future, that is if Richard gets it.
Future Games
There is no gaming at Kingston on Monday this week for me, as gaming happens in the daytime than the evening on a Bank Holiday and I work from 9AM to 5PM normally (or so I thought).
HeroClix on Thursday will be 500 points, named themed times only. I am planning on using my new Marvel Knights fast forces set. just need to find a 50 point figure to bulk it up.
Monday the 5th of June should be the third game of the Frostgrave campaign at Wargames Workshop MK.
Well, that is it for this post. Until all are one with the Lantern-Spark.
Just a heads up, as there is only real HeroClix happening this week, there will most likely be no post for this week.

Neoscream's Life: 11th to 17th of April 2016
Welcome everybody to another the "Neoscream's Life" post. This is my weekly post of life, what games I have been playing, what I have been painting and what I have watching and reading. There is no Kingdom Death opening pictures this week. This was done to make room for pictures from Salute 2016 as I decided to not do a Salute post.
"Life"
On Monday evening I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for another game of Kingdom Death Monster. This time Bob, Adrian and Michael turned up. We hunted down another level one White Lion. It was a slippery bugger, but we managed to kill it in the end without losing anyone or anyone suffering for any major injuries during the Hunt, Showdown or Settlement event. There was not any real Settlement phase other than the Settlement event (which was Dark Trader) as the Butcher turned up. Sadly we did not have the time to fight him on the day. So we have to wait until next time.On Friday my mum somehow accidentally reversed back into the shed, destroying it. Facepalm. By the look of things the content of the shed is OK, however we cannot safely get into it to double check things properly. Lucky her cat was fine.
On Saturday I went down to London for Salute. It was good time. I got to play a home made table top XCOM Enemy Within game, which was great and they should be e-mailing me the rules. Sweet. I always went ed to play XCOM as a miniatures game, it was the reason I brought the board game. Now I need some suitable alien miniatures.
I also picked up a couple of great bargains at the Troll Trader stand. Dungeon Saga for £30 instead of the £49.99 RRP and the Temple of the Dawn with bonus figures for Malifaux for £24 instead of £32.99 RRP without the bonus figure. Sweet and curse you Troll Trader for making me spend money. LOL.
The only problems I had was I sadly do not see any of the Beast of War crew or Bob all day. I wished at least one of my close friends, Richard, Darren H an Simon could come as it is quite lonely travelling and hang at the conversation on my own. Plus I wish I had more money to spend. After I got back to Milton Keynes and had dinner at home, I went to the Xscape for some bowling to celebrate a friends birthday. It was a good night.
On Sunday morning before work my mum gave me some terrible next. My Uncle (her brother) had sadly died on Saturday. It was sadly expected to happen. He had been fighting cancer for over a year now. At least he is not suffering any more. He will be missed.
"HeroClix"
On Thursday like normal I went to York House for HeroClix. The scenario this time was "Avengers Assemble". 500 points, must be a Avengers themed team (which includes things like West Cost Avengers). You cannot use characters from the Captain America Civil War film.
My time was:Echo (010 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 96 + Avengers Response Unit (ATA) 3 = 99
Firebird (011 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 105 + Avengers Response Unit (ATA) 3 = 108
Hellcat (012 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 73 + Avengers Response Unit (ATA) 3 = 76
Justice (014 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 64 + Avengers Response Unit (ATA) 3 = 67
Living Lightning (015 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 80 + Avengers Response Unit (ATA) 3 = 83
Tigra (036 Marvel Chaos War) 57 + Avengers Response Unit (ATA) 3 = 60
=493 points
On the first round I was up against Adrian who use using:
Firebird (011 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 105
Yellowjacket (007 Marvel Age of Ultron event) 85
Wolverine (029 Marvel Chaos War) 90
Dr. Strange (021 Marvel Fear Itself) 145
Iron Fist (007 Marvel Fear Itself) 80
=505 points
Sadly I lost this game. Also Darren S won his game against Michael. On the second round I was up against Michael who was using:
Moondragon (029 Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy comics) 85Thor (038 Marvel Chaos War) 200
Beast (010 Marvel Giant-Size X-Men) 95
Wonder Man (028 Marvel Chaos War) 118
=498 points
I managed to win this game. Also Darren S won his game against Adrian. On the third and final round I was up against Darren S who was using:
Jarvis (034 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 40Abyss (043 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 139
Red Wolf (051 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 80
Venom (034 Marvel Deadpool) 96
Professor X (008 Marvel Avengers verses X-Men) 150
=505 points
Sadly like normal I lost this game. Sorry I cannot remember who won between Adrian and Michael.
This week's scenario will be week three of Countdown to Civil War "There are other movies". 400 points. No figure from Captain America Civil War line-up. Team or characters must have previously appeared/been mentioned in a Superhero movie, TV series, Animated series/movie.
"Painting and Converting"
For this post I have for you all is another Regult Battlepods from Robotech RPG tactics and an Oiran, the LE Katanaka Sniper and a Samurai from Malifaux.
During the week I managed to finish painting three Kingdom Death Monster figures, four new based and three figures for Warmachine and six ships for the XCOM board game.

Neoscream's Life: 30rd March to Easter 2015

| The Hobgoblin team |
Welcome to the new Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of
what games I have been playing, what I watch and news on the great
Geek Goddess, AJ, for the last time.
“Zombicide”
On
Monday I went down for some Zombicide. We played the first mission from the first
Compendium book, "Lost", three times. As it was an "Easy"
season one mission, I added Toxic Zombies and Zombie Dogs to the mix (as well
as Survivors from season two, dog companions, and Toxic City Mall equipment
cards). An Abomination appeared in the first building we opened. We lost. We
played it again without the Dog Zombies (and the non-English Toxic Zombie cards
that somehow made it to the deck. We ended up with an Abomination In the first
building again and we got swamped with Toxic Zombies. We lost again. We tried
again a third time, but without the Toxic Zombies. We got an Abomination again in
the first building. We did a lot better this time around, but we still lost.
Face Palm.
“Warmachine/Hordes Tournament”
On Saturday I went to Wargames Workshop MK for the second time
during the week. This time was for the Warmachine/Hordes Tournament. As I have
not been doing well with my Convergence, I decided to try a different faction
that I own. I have a bit of experience with Menoth, but I decide to use Cygnar
which I have never used before. My team was:
Squire - PC: 2
Cyclone Heavy Warjack - PC: 9
Defender Heavy Warjack - PC: 9
Lieutenant Allison Jakes - PC: 3
Ironclad Heavy Warjack - PC: 7
Stormsmith Stormcaller - PC: 1
Black 13th Gun Mage Strike Team - PC: 4
A six man Long Gunner Infantry unit - PC: 6
= 35
On the first round I was up against a Skorne army. I ended up
losing, but my opponent did give me some helpful tips at the end.
On the second round I was up against a Menoth army. Again I lost,
but I am starting to get more use to my force. It did not help that most of the
guys I killed came back to life. Beep! Beep! Beep! We then stopped for lunch.
The third round started after lunch and I was up against a Legion
army. It was a much closer game, however my opponent won. I would have won if I
did not fail to hit so much against the Warlock (and the hidden second Flurry
token. Beep! Beep! Beep!).
On the fourth round I was up against a Retribution army. Shock!
Horror! I won this game by assassinating his Warcaster. I think this was my
second tournament win for Warmachine. OMG.
Due to time we did not have a fifth round. I ended up at sixteenth
place out eighteen players. An improvement. I will give Cygnar another go in the
next tournament. But I will do some changes, like replacing the Long Gunner
Infantry with Arcane Tempest Gun Mages, drop Lieutenant Allison Jakes and the
Ironclad and add a Hunter light Warjack or two. I really enjoyed use a shooting
army.
"Wrestlemania 31"
Wow
want a show. OK, let us go with the results. Starting with the two preshow
matches.
First
we have the four way tag match for the WWE Tag Team titles. WWE Tag Team
Champions Tyson Kidd and Cesaro defeated The Usos, Los Matadores and The New
Day's Big E and Kofi Kingston.
He
second match was the second annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Big
Show won this thirty-man Battle Royal claming the prize he deserves. Damien
Mizdow did well as well, by dumping the dead weight, The Miz.
Now
we move on to the main show. The first match was the seven-man ladder match for
the WWE Intercontinental Championship. It involving the defending champion Bad
News Barrett and challengers Daniel Bryan, R-Truth, Dean Ambrose, Luke Harper,
Dolph Ziggler, and Stardust. Bryan won the match to claim his first
Intercontinental Championship.
The
second match a match between Seth Rollins and Randy Orton. Randy Orton won the
match be delievering s wicked RKO, which was given additional elevation as
Orton countered Rollins' Curb Stomp by flinging Rollins up into the air.
The
third match was a pinfall and submissions-only match between Sting and Triple
H. Both D-Generation X (Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, X-Pac and Shawn Michaels) and nWo
members (Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan) interfered in the match. However Triple H won the match with the help
of a broken sledgehammer. Following the match, Triple H and Sting shook hands
in the ring.
The
fourth match was a Divas tag team match between the team of AJ Lee and Paige
and The Bella Twins. The Geek Goddess, AJ won the match for her team by locking
in the Black Widow to make the Diva’s Champion Nikki Bella to tap out.
The
fifth match was for the WWE United States Championship between defending
champion Rusev who was accompanied by his manager Lana and John Cena. Cena dealt
Rusev his first pinfall loss in WWE, to become the new WWE United States
Championship.
Now
normally (unless it involves AJ), I do not talk about the non-match but the
t-shirt calls out to for this to be bought up. The Authority (Triple H and
Stephanie McMahon) came to the ring to talk about how well the show was doing,
but then The Rock to come to the ring in but this head in. After a verbal
exchange, Stephanie insulted the Rock and slapped him across the face, taunting
that he would not retaliate because he dare not hit a woman. She told him to
leave the ring which he did, but then he brought UFC Women's Bantamweight
Champion Ronda Rousey (who was sitting in the front row) into the ring. After Ronda
let Stephanie know that she "owns every ring she is in" Rock attacked
Triple H and Ronda then threw both Stephanie and Triple H from the ring, first
teasing an armbar on Stephanie. This was awesome and Ronda’s t-shirt was
fantastic too. It was a Dragon Ball Z Vegeta “It’s over 9,000” t-shire. The
t-shirt and seeing her kick Stephanie’s butt makes her my third if not second
(sorry Paige) female wrestler.
The
sixth match was a singles match between the returning Undertaker and the Arkham
escapee Bray Wyatt. The Undertaker won the match. He look a lot healthier then
what he did the last time we saw him, Wrestlemania 30.
The
main event of the night was the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match
between defending champion Brock Lesnar who was accompanied by his manager Paul
Heyman and Roman Reigns. Lesnar deliver suplex after suplex onto Reigns. But he
just smiled and laughed them off. Oh and Reigns had beaten Lesnar’s face to a
bloody pulp. Lesnar then hit a fourth F-5 on Reigns, but was unable to follow
up due to fatigue and blood loss. While both men were down, the rat Seth
Rollins ran in from the back with his Money in the Bank briefcase and cashed in
his contract. The referee turning the singles match into a triple threat. Which
Rollins sadly won as he was up against two heavily warn out powerhouses who had
beaten the crap out of each other.
On
Raw last week, AJ was in a six Diva tag match. It was her, Paige and Naomi
verses the Bellas twins and Natalya. Naomi won the match for her team by pinning
the Diva’s Champion Nikki Bella
If
you have not read Sunday’s “5th Anniversary” post, please do. As it
talks about AJ retiring. However I will reveal that this week’s Raw all we got
was a statement from the commentary team talking about her retiring. So sadly
this will be the last weekly “AJ and the WWE” section. If I hear any AJ news I
will do an “AJ News” section but I do not know how often it will be, if there
are any as AJ in VERY private with her life outside WWE.
“Painting and Converting”
For this post I have for you both version of Angry Mery and the
human version of Red Cap from Zombicide.

Gaming with Neoscream: 5th October 2014
Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”. This is my
weekly gaming report and event write up post for miniature games, RPGs, card
games and computer games.
“This Week's Events”
On Monday this week I went to Wargames Workshop MK
for the third round of the Warmachine/Hordes league.
This week I was up against Ian who was also using
Trolls. I used my forces high speed and defences to capture the control points
that won me the game. Sadly I did not have the control points to win the game.
Wow a real win, sweet.
Also Joe who his game against Niall and Rob B won
his game against Barrie. I am currently at third place in the gaming side of
league with Barrie at first place and with eighteen points I am at second place
in the hobby side while Rob B is at first place with 21 (everyone else still
have ZERO points).
Next week I should be against Rob B with his Cryx in
the semi-finals and it will be 50 points. This will be my first ever 50 points
game. I wish I was using my Convergence.
On Thursday I went down to York House for HeroClix.
We were playing a scenario called "Six Pack": 600 points, must have
six characters, no more, no less.
On the first round I was up against Adrian. He was
using a Green Lantern themed team. I sadly lost this game. Darren S won his
game against Michael.
On the second round I was up against Michael. He was
using an Asgardian themed team. Again I sadly lost this game. Odin from Marvel
Fear Itself is very broken. Darren S won his game against Adrian.
On the third and final round I was up against Darren
S. He was using a Weapon-X themed team. Like normal against Darren S, I lost.
Also Michael won his game against his brother Adrian.
Next week will be the second week of the Batman
sage, "Dark Knight": 400 points. One
figure must be ever Joker or a Batman that is ever an Experience or under 175
point. Figures you used from the “Batman Begins” scenario cannot be used.
On Friday I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for
this month’s High Command tournament. I was FINALLY equipped with a Convergence
deck. This month’s special rules were that Victory Points can only be awarded
from Locations. I played against Joe and Niall and lost both games. However
they both agreed that playing against Convergence was VERY tough. So with some
fine tuning and practice they should do better.
On Saturday morning I went down to Wargames Workshop
MK again for the final DreadBall Tournament of the year. On a side note the
Zombicide tournament was cancelled at the last moment and replaced with demos
of the new Warhammer 40,000 card game called "Conquest". Well anyway,
there were four of us in the tournament, me, Rob C, Rob F and new comer Dale. I
was using my Battle Angels (Season Two Corporation) team as they normally do my
will and as normal I send my 20mc on a card and an offensive coach (AJ).
On the first round I was up against Dale. He was
using a Teraton team. This was a terrible game. My dice rolls were absolutely
terrible. He killed half my team and I lost by a land slide. Not only that, but
my AJ coach figure broke. With the 6mc I earned, the 20mc I got from recycling
the dead players and 2mc I had left, I replaced three of my dead players.
On the second round I was up against Rob F. He was
using a Z’zo team. With the underdog bonus I got both Painmaster Yurik and the
Praetorian. It the first action of the game Rob F slimed the Praetorian with
his guard and killed him. This felt like a bad omen. My dice rolls were bad,
but not as bad as the first round. However luckily he only killed one of my
other players and in the last turn I managed to win by just one point. With the
9mc I earned replaced the player I lost and had five 5mc left after rtecycling
the dead one.
On the third round I was up against Rob C. He was
using Forge Fathers team. With the underdog bonus I got three MVPs. WOW. These
were the Enforcer, John Doe and Nightshade. I managed to win this game by white
wash and I did one more recovery round than he did, however he did kill one of my players. With
the mc I earned and got from recycling, I re-brought the dead player, got a fifth
coaching dice and a second. We believe that one of the chairs must be cured as
I sat there for the first two round and had bad dice rolls, while in this round
Dale sat there and lost his first game.
After lunch we had the finals. The top two players
will play for first and second, while the bottom players will play for third
and fourth place. I was up against Dale again. We were playing for first and
second place. With the underdog bonus in this game I got the MVP Rico Van Dien.
In a change of fortune I won this game. Winning the tournament. However, I did
loss two more players. Dale got second place, Rob C was at third and Rob F was
at forth.
If the tournament continued I would have only been
able to replaced one of the players.
As this was the last DreadBall Tournament at
Wargames Workshop MK in 2014, the Grand Championship results were revealed.
Before this tournament I was at fourth place. With the fact that the top two
players missing, my victory from this tournament lead to me winning the Championship
(one place above where I was last year) with Rob C at second. WOW. I might have
to try the National next year.
Next week should be a little quitter. Oh with Silver
Age Sentinels, we will not be able to get another game until at least the 13th
of November as everyone is busy on.

Painting Challenge Day 20 of 28”

before going to bed.

at the moment.
And Here are the figures I have finished yesterday.
That is ten more hobby point done the last two days,
making it just ten points so far this week and a grand total so for twenty-eight
hobby points overall so far.
Until next time, Keep Rolling.
