Build Analysis: Revisited Part One

Welcome everybody to the first ever Build Analysis Revisited posts. This is basically me revisiting several of my old Build Analysis posts and doing an update on them. This will be covering the first three Cardfight Vanguard decks I posted which are: Dimensional Robos, Cosmic Heroes and Nova Grapplers.

First off is the first of my Dimension Police decks, Dimensional Robos. For those who missed the post here is a link to it. Since the post I have changed one G-unit. I have been using "Super Cosmic Hero, X-rogue" instead of "Super Cosmic Hero, X-falcon", but was planning on replacing it with "Super Cosmic Hero, X-tiger" when ever I got round to getting one. However I have seen a new grade four coming in Fighter's Collection 2016, that would work well with how things go in my games. The card is called "Super Cosmic Hero, X-phoenix". Basically, if your attack is 35k or higher and you missed with you attack, Counter Blast one to draw a card. With Commander Laurel on the field, my opponents rarely lets my Vanguard's attack to hit so the draw effects that my Vanguards normal have never come into play as I need to hit to draw. So X-phoenix might change things. There might be other changes (bigger ones) coming to the deck in the not to distant future, however I will talk about that after Cosmic Heroes.

Next there is my second of the Dimension Police decks, Cosmic Heroes. For those who missed the post here is a link to it. Sadly nothing has changed since the post as I have been using the Dimensional Robos deck than the Cosmic Heroes deck and I still have not gotten around to buying any X-tigers, however the deck is expecting some major changes in the not too distant future.

Before moving on to the Nova Grappler, there is something that will effect both the Dimension Police decks. The next main set, G-BT07 "Glorious Bravery of Radiant Sword", will contain new Dimension Police cards. There will be new support for Gallop (Cosmic Heroes) which includes a new Stride version of Gallop called "Super Cosmic Hero, X-gallop". There is no word if there will be any Dimensional Robos support, but I would guess that there will be at least a couple of cards. I am hoping for a G format grade three Daikaiser and/or a Dimensional Robos grade one Stride fudder that searches for a grade three Kaiser and/or a G-Guardian for Dimension Police (Dimensional Robos mainly).

Now for the third revisited deck, Nova Grapplers. For those who missed the post here is a link to it. With the release of G-BT06 "Transcension of Blade and Blossom" and playing with what what I currently have the deck has changed the deck I wanted to build. It is still a Extreme Battler deck, but now with more Extreme Battlers and support for Victor, Extreme Battler's main grade three who now has a grade four version. Here is what the deck I plan on building looks like at the moment:

Grade Four
Meteokaiser, Vic-Ten x2
Meteokaiser, Tribrut x2
Meteokaiser, Victor x4

OK, there is no change here as I already knew about the Stride version of Victor when I did the other post.

Grade Three
Exxtreme Battler, Victor x4
Exxtreme Battler, Danshark x4

Replacing Raybird with Danshark is not a hundred percent set in stone. Let us see if Danshark does help or not. I might even look at re-adding Gold Rutile.

Grade Two
Extreme Battler, Arbarail x2
Extreme Battler, Gunzork x2
Extreme Battler, Kenbeam x1
Cool Hank x2
Extreme Battler, Sazander x4

Both Magical Gambler and sadly the Starlight Hedgehog (if you do not know, my favourite animal is the Hedgehog) were dropped for the new Extreme Battler support. The Kenbeam might get changed for a third copy of ever Arbarail or Gunzork or Hank. Just need some play testing to find out which would be better for me.

Grade One
Final Wrench x4
Extreme Battler, Arashid x3
Lady Cyclone x4 or Extreme Battler, Headstrong-battle x4
Extreme Battler, Malyaki x3

Not really any changes here. However I still thinking of which to go for. Lady Cyclone or Headstrong-battle as my Perfect Guard.

Grade Zero
Extreme Battler, Runbhol (starter) x1
Ring Girl, Clara (heal) x2
Ring Girl, Ai (heal) x2
Extreme Battler, Break-pass (critical) x4
Battleraizer (stand) x3
Energy Girl (stand) x4
Turboraizer (stand) x1

The only change here I have done was to replace Zanbhara with Break-pass due to the effect. The Heals are really be any Nova Grappler heal trigger as the is none with abilities or with Extreme Battler in the name.

As I am writing this I only have the cards I got from the Sneak Peek. I have sadly not been able to get to Wargames Workshop MK since the release. Hopefully I can start building it soon.

Well that is all for now. Please any feedback on these decks would be appreciated. The next Build Analysis post should be an analysis of my Touken Ranby deck.

Until next time, enjoy life.

Build Analysis: Cardfight Vanguard Genesis

Welcome to another Build Analysis. This is the fortnightly blog post that breaks down my deck and team/army builds. This time we are looking at what my Genesis deck looks like at the moment.

This is my second non Dimension Police deck I have built and the most non Dimension Police deck I have used. Back when I started Cardfight Vanguard I always wanted to build a deck of one of Misaki's clans after doing Dimension Police and Nova Grappler. This is because Misaki is my favourite character from the show. I ended up doing Genesis as G-BT04 ? was the first main set to be released since I started to have one of them. I have been tempted to do an Oracle Think Tank "Magus" deck since the release of G-BT05 "Moonlit Dragonfang". However Shell is already has one and I can see it would be very expensive/hard to build. (But I might still do it in the future)

When I started writing this the deck looks like this:

Grade Four
Mythical Destroyer Beast, Vanargandr x2
Goddess of the Firmament, Dione x2
Miracle Element, Atmos x1

Grade Three
Wisdom Keeper, Metis x3
Mystic Beast, Fenrir x2
Goddess of Good Luck, Fortuna x1
Regalia of Wisdom, Angelica x1
Eternal Goddess, Iwanagahime x1

Grade Two
Myth Guard, Orion x4
Unappeasable Biter, Gleipnir x3
Mythic Snake, Jormungand x3
Battle Maiden, Shitateruhime x1

Grade One
Goddess of Decline, Hel x4
Myth Guard, Sirius x4
Mythic Beast, Skoll x3
Witch of Cats, Cumin x2
Existence Angel x1

Grade Zero
Witch of Prohibited Books, Cinnamon (starter) x1
Witch of Cherries, Poppy (draw) x1
Bandit Danny (draw) x1
Witch of Big Pots, Laurier (heal) x1
Regalia of Compassion, Eir (heal) x1
Goddess of Youth, Hebe (heal) x2
Dreaming Dragon (stand) x4
Witch's Familiar, Shiroma (critical) x2
Battle Maiden, Kukurihime (critical) x4

I am trying to build a deck around Fenrir and Vanargandr. The general idea was to have a copy of both Myth Guards in the soul. Fill at least one column with each for a nasty attack value. Have Existence Angel boost the Vanguard to up the soul. And to have Dreaming Dragon return all my cards to the deck after Soul Blasting.

I know I need to get some more grade fours for this deck (which is a theme with most of the decks from here on) and after the first time I realised (while tidying my trade folder) I had an extra Genesis Stride I could add, "Witch Queen of Holy Water, Clove". As this is not a Witch deck, her abilities are worthless. However she does make good G Assist fodder.

I know I have to deal with the grade three more. Four copies of Fenrir would be ideal (and I "just" now have four), however I need to think of something else to support he or act as a backup instead of the other grade threes I have.

I have been finding the Myth Guard as a glass cannon. Their have poor starting Attack values, they I need to have their partner in the soul for the the attack boost and the bonus to Attack is only when they are Attacking. I have decided to drop Orion for some basic 10k attacks and Sirius with some soul based support. At the moment with Sirius, I have replaced him with two more copies of Cumin and two copies of Claimer Harry, however I am thinking on replacing the Claimer Harry with more Existence Angels when ever I can get more.

The Cumins and Existence Angels are in the deck to help change the soul as in the past when I did not have them I struggled use my soul blast abilities.

And I do plan on replacing the two Shiromas and the two draw triggers for four copies of the draw trigger Regalia of Foredoom, Lot Angel, as it helps fill up the soul and a now have one of them which has replaced one of the old draw triggers.

In the future I might decide to go with a Goddess or Witch deck, however I will stick with Fenrir for now and wait until the next set with Genesis in (not including Fighter’s Collection) comes out to see if there is anything interesting to change my mind.

The current deck now looks like this:

Grade Four
Mythical Destroyer Beast, Vanargandr x2
Goddess of the Firmament, Dione x2
Witch Queen of Holy Water, Clove x1
Miracle Element, Atmos x1

Grade Three
Wisdom Keeper, Metis x2
Mystic Beast, Fenrir x4
Goddess of Good Luck, Fortuna x1
Eternal Goddess, Iwanagahime x1

Grade Two
Unappeasable Biter, Gleipnir x3
Mythic Snake, Jormungand x3
Battle Maiden, Shitateruhime x1
Battle Maiden, Izunahime x2
Regalia of Beauty x2

Grade One
Goddess of Decline, Hel x4
Mythic Beast, Skoll x3
Witch of Cats, Cumin x4
Existence Angel x1
Claimer Harry x2

Grade Zero
Witch of Prohibited Books, Cinnamon (starter) x1
Witch of Cherries, Poppy (draw) x1
Regalia of Foredoom, Lot Angel (draw) x1
Witch of Big Pots, Laurier (heal) x1
Regalia of Compassion, Eir (heal) x1
Goddess of Youth, Hebe (heal) x2
Dreaming Dragon (stand) x4
Witch's Familiar, Shiroma (critical) x2
Battle Maiden, Kukurihime (critical) x4

If you have any advice on changes to improve on this deck, please feel free to post comments on here, on Facebook or on Twitter.

The next Build Analysis post should ever be a review post of my Dimensional Robo, Cosmic Hero and Nova Grappler decks or the Build Analysis of my Touken Ranbu deck from Cardfight Vanguard.

Until next time, enjoy life.

Build Analysis: Cardfight Vanguard Nova Grappler

Welcome to another Build Analysis. This is the fortnightly blog post that breaks down my deck and team/army builds. This time we are looking at what my Nova Grappler deck looks like at the moment and what I currently plan on going with it.

Sorry that this was two weeks late. It was written, I just been forgetting to take photos of the cards and post it. G-BT06 "Transcension of Blade and Blossom" is now out in Japanese and will be coming out is English at Easter time. So I could redo the planned deck now, however I will leave that as an update post in the future.

This was the first none Dimension Police deck I made. However I have not been using it much as when ever I have tested it, I keep on having grade lock problems with it. This must be just bad luck or the deck is cursed as it follows my normal deck structure (which is somewhat a standard build for most decks): sixteen triggers, a starter, fourteen grade ones, eleven grade twos and eight grade threes. In fact in early versions of the deck I used a trigger as a starter to have an extra card in one of the other grade (I cannot remember which one) and it still suffers.

Well anyway here is what the deck currently looks like:

Grade Four
Meteokaiser, Vic-Ten x1
Meteokaiser, Tribrut x2
Miracle Element, Atmos x1

Grade Three
Gold Rutile x2
Exxtreme Battler, Victor x2
Exxtreme Leader Mu-sashi x2
Exxtreme Leader, Raybird x2

Grade Two
Magical Gambler x2
Extreme Battler, Gunzork x2
Starlight Hedgehog x2
Super Electromagnetic Lifeform, Storm x2
Transraizer x1
Extreme Battler, Kenbeam x1
Extreme Battler, Sazanda x1

Grade One
Screamin' and Dancin' Announcer, Stout x3
Twin Blader x2
Beast Deity, Solar Falcon x2
Final Wrench x3
Oasis Girl x2
Extreme Battler, Arashid x1
Burstraizer x1

Grade Zero
Extreme Battler, Runbhol (starter) x1
Beast Deity, Rescue Bunny (heal) x2
Ring Girl, Clara (heal) x1
Ring Girl, Ai (heal) x1
Beast Deity, Death Stinger (critical) x2
Shining Lady (critical) x1
Extreme Battler, Zanbhara (critical) x1
Battleraizer (stand) x4
Energy Girl (stand) x2
Turboraizer (stand) x1
Cannon Ball (stand) x1

Yes I know it is a bit of a mix match. I originally thought of building ever a Raizer or a Beast Deity themed deck. Raizer for the synergies and Beast Deity as I have a bunch from BT13 Catastrophic Outbreak. However after talking to Matt who is a Nova Grappler player and a couple of others, I have decided to aim for a Extreme Battler themed deck.

My plan is to run a stand heavy deck, hence why there are eight stand triggers in the deck and the Strides I currently have really help with that. In fact that is what Novas do best. STAND! STAND! STAND!

I have done some planning on a new deck and here is what I currently plan on having (please note as I am writing this we are getting previews of G-BT06 "Transcension of Blade and Blossom", so this can quickly change):

Grade Four
Meteokaiser, Vic-Ten x2
Meteokaiser, Tribrut x2
Meteokaiser, Victor x4

Grade Three
Exxtreme Battler, Victor x4
Exxtreme Leader, Raybird x4

Grade Two
Magical Gambler x2
Extreme Battler, Gunzork x3
Starlight Hedgehog x2
Cool Hank x2
Extreme Battler, Sazander x2

Grade One
Final Wrench x4
Extreme Battler, Arashid x4
Lady Cyclone x4
Extreme Battler, Malyaki x2

Grade Zero
Extreme Battler, Runbhol (starter) x1
Ring Girl, Clara (heal) x2
Ring Girl, Ai (heal) x2
Extreme Battler, Zanbhara (critical) x4
Battleraizer (stand) x3
Energy Girl (stand) x4
Turboraizer (stand) x1

OK with the grade zeros the triggers without special abilities it is more due to the look of the deck than anything. However more Energy Girls will help the deck a lot.

Until I saw the previews for G-BT06, I had two spots on the grade one which I have not decided on. However Malyaki fit the bill.

There is too meanly good choices and with possible new choices coming coming from G-BT06. I need to try to nail it down.

With the grade three I could drop a Raybird or two for Mu-sashi, but other than that I am happy with this line-up. However this might change when G-BT06 comes.

With the grade fours, I wanted to look for something to go with Vic-Ten and Tribrut and the ideal choice came in a preview for G-BT06, "Meteokaiser, Victor". He suits the bill in what I am after for this deck.

I might still look into building a Raizer deck in the future, however I am quite happy with this idea of a deck list. Can it be improved? Did I miss anything? Please let me know.

The next Build Analysis should be my Genesis deck for Cardfight Vanguard. (Hoping to get it out next week due to the delays of this post as Genesis was meant to be this week).

Until next time, enjoy life.

Build Analysis: Cardfight Vanguard Cosmic Heroes

Welcome to another Build Analysis. This is the fortnightly blog post that breaks down my deck and team/army builds. This time we will be looking at my other Dimension Police deck for Cardfight Vanguard, Cosmic Heroes.

I originally built a Dimensional Robo deck out of BT13 Catastrophic Outbreak, the Dimension Police trial deck and some cards picked up on eBay, but when I started going to the Cardfight Vanguard tournaments that Shell runs at Wargames Workshop MK, I started to getting the booster set Cosmic Roar, which was basically a Clan Booster Set for Dimension Police that upgraded the clan to G standards and introduced a new Sub Clan called Cosmic Hero. I ended up replacing my Dimensional Robos with Cosmic Heroes and it remained my only and main deck for quite sometime (however I have always planned on rebuilding a Dimensional Robo deck one day which I have now done).

The latest version of my Cosmic Hero deck is:

Grade Four
Super Cosmic Hero, X-falcon x3
Super Cosmic Hero, X-rogue x3
Dark Superhero, Omega x2

Grade Fours
Grade Three
Great Cosmic Hero, Grandgallop x4
Great Cosmic Hero, Grandbazooka x4

Grade Two
Cosmic Hero, Grandfire x4
Cosmic Hero, Grandsub x4
Cosmic Hero, Grandkungfu x3

Grade One
Cosmic Hero, Grandguard x4
Commander Laurel x2
Cosmic Hero, Grandrope x3
Cosmic Hero, Grandranger x2
Cosmic Hero, Grandchopper x2
Cosmic Hero, Grandwagon x1
Grade Threes

Grade Zero
Dimensional Robo, Daimagnum (Starter) x1
Cosmic Hero, Grandrescue (Heal) x4
Dimensional Robo, Daibattles (Critical) x2
Operator Girl, Reika (Stand) x4
Dimensional Robo, Daiwolf (Critical) x3
Cosmo Fang (Stand) x2
Cosmic Hero, Grandbeat (Critical) x1

Yes that is right, I am using a Dimensional Robo starter in my Cosmic Hero deck. In my opinion Daimagnum runs better in the deck than the Cosmic Hero one as Cosmic Heroes are about boosting their attacks to unlock abilities and Daimagnum does that without being at Generation Break. The Cosmic Hero one, "Cosmic Hero, Grandseed", only gives your Vangaurd an ability IF Grandseed's attack is high enough and when you are at least Generation Break One. I am not saying the ability is bad, just that I prefer the attack boost Daimagnum gives.

Like with my Dimension Robo deck I posted last time, this deck main tactic is multiple attack due to Laurel and Stand triggers. However is it also about boosting my attacks to activate abilities. Also it would be ideal to have Grandranger behind my Vanguard for the extra power.

Grade Twos
Sadly with Strides I normally always end up picking X-rogue over X-falcon due to worries that I cannot boost my attack value high enough. I was thinking this was more due to self-confidence than the deck, however I have been told by another Dimension Police player that X-falcon is a hard one to pull off, ever in a Cosmic Hero deck. I was planning on getting some copies of "Super Cosmic Hero, X-tiger" for this deck, however after the advice over X-falcon I received I know I really need to get some. I am currently thing of two and make it two copies of each of the X strides.

With grade zeros, I do want to get three more copies of Grandfight, make it four. Doing this I would be dropping the two copies of Daibattles and a copy of Daiwolf which is not a problem.

With the grade ones I would not mind getting two more copies of Laurel. Also I need to think of the right balance of my other grade ones, especially if I get more Laurels, as I feel like I have too many different cards.

I am very happy with my grade two and three line-ups. I personally cannot think of any changes I could do to improve it.

Well that is another post writing and the main bulk of it was finished the morning after I posted the first Build Analysis post. However this does not mean I have not worked on it between then and now. I have also written my Nova Grappler and Genesis builds as I post this. Well anyway the next Build Analysis will be my Nova Grapplers.

Until next time, enjoy life.

Build Analysis: Cardfight Vanguard Dimensional Robos

Due to some spear time at work, I have decided to start a new series of posts that will first look into my decks for Cardfight Vanguard. This should in the future be expanding to include army/team builds for miniatures games. I would like this to be a more interactive post and get feedback from readers on things like improvements and tactics. Unlike "Neoscream's Life" and "Gaming News from Neoscream", this will be a fortnightly post, how ever I will most likely have multiple posts written a head of time. In fact I am in the middle of writing the next one. If I do get too ahead of my self I might make it weekly, however after the refit at work I do not have the extra time to write the posts and materiel to write about.

Team Caesar from the anime
The first deck I am looking at is my newest one, well more like a return of my first ever deck, Dimensional Robos. Anyone who really knows me knows I am really into Robots. As a kid I was a huge Transformers fan and I even studied Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at University. So Dimension Police and Nova Grappler my clan of choose, however Dimension Police is my favourite of the two, most like because Team Caesar in my favourite team from the Cardfight Vanguard anime. Cannot wait until they make a comeback in G Gears Crisis. My first and only deck for a was a Dimension Police, and the original version of  it was a Dimensional Robo sub clan until until I moved on to Cosmic Hero sub clan.
Anyway with the release of Fighter’s Collection Winter 2015 which comes new support for the Dimensional Robo sub clan, I finally decided to rebuild my Dimensional Robo deck. It was something I have been planning to do for a while and had been doing some planning for it, but I finally got off my butt with these new cards. This is the deck I have built with the cards I own (or waiting to arrive):

Grade Four
Super Cosmic Hero, X-falcon x1
Legendary Dimensional Robo, Daikaiser Leon x4
99th-gen Dimensional Robo Commander, Great Daiearth x2
Dark Superhero, Omega

Grade Three
True Ultimate Dimensional Robo, Great Daikaiser x4
Ultimate Dimensional Robo, Great Daiyusha x2
Super Dimensional Robo, Daikaiser x2

Grade Two
Dimensional Robo, Daibazooka x4
Dimensional Robo, Daijet x4
Dimensional Robo, Daidragon x2
Dimensional Robo, Daibarrett x1

Grade One
Dimensional Robo, Dailion x4
Dimensional Robo Operator, Yuka x4
Cosmic Hero, Grandguard x4
Commander Laurel x2

Grade Zero
Dimensional Robo, Daishot (Starter) x1
Dimensional Robo, Gorescue (Heal) x4
Dimensional Robo, Daibattles (Critical) x4
Operator Girl, Reika (Stand) x4
Dimensional Robo, Daiwolf (Critical) x2
Dimensional Robo, Gofight (Stand) x2

Yes for those who do not know, I have managed to pick up two more Daikaiser Leons. Insert evil laugh.
The main Tactics in from grade three is to ever Break Ride into my Legion (True Daikaiser and Ultimate Daiyusha) or Stride into Daikaiser Leon or Daiearth at the are time (eg not as the first Stride). Then with the help of Laurel I can ever attack twice with my Vanguard or make my opponent use up defensive cards blocking the first attack from Vanguard and have the Rearguard do the damage. However with the fact I field a lot of Stand triggers and this deck does not need high attack values to trigger abilities (Cosmic Heroes). With Laurel on the field and the field is full, I could get away with attacking with an un-boosted Rearguard first (Daidragon would, be the best choice), then attack with an un-boosted Vanguard, if I get a Stand trigger I can Stand the Rearguard that attacked so it can ever help Laurel re-stand my Vanguard if the Vanguard hit the attack or so it can attack again.
I am quite happy with this deck. There are a couple of changes I could do, but I do not know if I should do them.
The first is in the grade ones. Releasing a Dailion and a Yuka with two more Laurels. This would up the chance of playing Laurel. However this does heavily weaken the chance of me getting a grade one Dimensional Robo to ride on my first turn as over half of my grade ones would be none Dimensional Robo. I need it to be a Dimensional Robo to help activate the abilities some of my higher grade cards have as they will not trigger unless I have three Dimensional Robos in the soul. I could change the Grandguards with "Dimensional Robo, Daishield", but I need the Counter Change ability of Grandguard as the main attackers use a lot of Counter Blast.
With the grade twos Daibarrett was a place holder for a third Daidragon, however Daibarrett is quite useful. It fact I am wondering if I should drop a Daijet for a second Daibarrett.
I am using eight grade threes which is the normal for most deck builds. However due to the grade three drive trigger abilities of True Daikaiser and Daikaiser Leon most people field ten. I feel that it is a little over board, especially when Daibazooka is classed as a grade three on drive checks. But then again the only game I have gotten with this deck was a loss as I did not draw a single grade three during my drive check with my True Daikaiser/Ultimate Daiyusha Legion attack. However this might just be bad luck as I did not even draw a standard trigger. I have to wait and see. If I do up the number to ten I would have to drop a card from both my garde one and two line ups.
Lastly the grade fours. I do not own a copy of "Super Cosmic Hero, X-tiger", however if or when I get my hands on one I might replace X-falcon or Omega with it. Or I could hunt for two more copies of Daiearth and replace both X-falcon or Omega with them. However I most likely  spending money or trade fodder working on my other decks than getting more Daiearths.
Well it would be nice to get people's opinions on this deck and I do hope to hear from you all ever on here, Facebook or Twitter. At a later time I might come back and do an update post about this deck based on feedback and play testing.

As I was writing the post, the theme music of the above video kept on playing in my head. It is from an anime called Gravion. I wonder why? LOL. The next deck I will be doing will most likely be my Cosmic Hero deck.

Until next time, enjoy life.
