Neoscream's Life: 20th to 27th June 2016

Welcome everybody to another the "Neoscream's Life" post. This is my weekly post of life, what games I have been playing, what I have been painting and what I have watching and reading. This week's Kingdom Death opening pictures is the Forge God.

"Life"

Not much for this section this week. On Monday I popped down to Wargames Workshop MK. It was more of a visit to see people as I did not go the previous week. Roxy was back in Milton Keynes for several days. On Saturday I decided to get into a new card game that had just came out in English from Bushiroad. The game is Luck and Logic. After the Cardfight Vanguard Duos Tournament I got some trades in for Luck and Logic from Shell, Liam and Jackie.

"HeroClix"

On Thursday I went down to York House for HeroClix. The scenario was 400 points, no figure over 75 points. This time we had a fifth surprise play, Roxy. I was using an X-Men team who were:

Colossus (001 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 50
Nightcrawler (002 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 50
Storm (003 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 50
Thunderbird (004 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 50
Warpath (019 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 60
Professor X (034 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 70
Angel (005 Marvel Days of Future Past) 74
=404 points

On the first round I was up against Adrian who was using an X-Men themed team who were:

Colossus (001 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 50
Nightcrawler (002 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 50
Storm (003 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 50
Thunderbird (004 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 50
Quicksilver (054 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 75
Kitty Pryde (029a Marvel Uncanny X-Men)  45
Pixie (056 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 75
=395 points

This was a close and it ended up as a draw, however as there cannot be draws in HeroClix, we had to roll off. Sadly Adrian won it. Also Michael had the bye and Darren S won his against Roxy.

On the second round I was on the bye. Roxy won her game against Michael and Darren S won his against Adrian. On the third round I was up against Roxy who was using a SHIELD themed team that I built for her who were:

Nick Fury, Jr. (001 Marvel Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD) 75
Agent Coulson (002 Marvel Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD) 75
Agent May (003 Marvel Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD) 75
Fitz (004 Marvel Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD) 50
Simmons (005 Marvel Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD) 50
Skye (006 Marvel Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD) 50
Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (003 Marvel Avengers Movies) 19
H.E.N.R.Y. (099 Marvel Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD) 0
=394 points

Roxy managed to win the game. Sadly I cannot remember the others results. My dice rolls were awful in both games.

This week's scenario is "The 'New' Fantastic Four". 400 points, four figures no more no less, no figure with the Fantastic Four Keyword.

"Cardfight Vanguard Duos Tournament"

On Saturday I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a Cardfight Vanguard Duos Tournament. Most likely due to Springfest the week before and space as they did not have the main hall, turnout was low. Only four teams (eight players) turned up. Shell was not playing due to the fact that she was running the store (we are all safe). I was teaming up with Jackie for this duos tournament. I was using my Cosmic Heroes deck while Jackie was using her Aqua Force deck.

On the first round we were up against Kyle G who was using Pale Moon and Jasper who was using Full Moon OTT. This Game ended as a draw due to time.

On the second round we were up against Matt C who was using Pale Moon and Kyle A who was using Kagero. We managed to win this game.

On the third round we were up against Jerom who was using Angels Feathers and Ansab who was using Gold Paladins. It was a good game and they were close to a win, however time ran out before they could. We stop for lunch before round four.

On the fourth round we were up against Matt C and Kyle A again. We managed to win this game as well.

On the fifth round we were up against Jerom and Ansab. It was a close and good game again, however we managed to win this time.

Due to numbers there was no cut offs and due to players (like Jackie) needing to go soon, Shell decided to ended the Tournament. With Three wins we somehow won the tournament. My bad luck has ended. Poor draws during Team Nationals the previous week and bad dice roll during HeroClix had bee my bane before hand. Wow my first Cardfight Vanguard Tournament win. Sweet.

"Painting and Converting"

During the week I sadly only managed to finish painting one figure. Another Doctor Who one. Due to getting this post out I will try to merge what is missing in this section in the Friday's/Saturday's post.

Welcome to the “Gaming News from Neoscream” post and its my Birthday. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs and some card games, as well as my miniatures painting and upcoming local events.

They also got a restock of the Satan Twins, the Warrior of the Sun Pin-up, the Grand Mother and the Lantern Armour kit.
As I post this they currently have in stock in the store: The Pariah, Great Game Hunter Doctors (both male and female versions), the Druid, the Great Game Hunter Noble, the Nightmare Ram Armour Pin-up; the Satan Twins, the Warrior of the Sun Pin-up, the Lantern Armour kit, the Pinup Storm Armour, Stone Face Base Inserts, the Adult Sunstalker and the Pinups of Death Hard Plastic Collection.

Now for the Frostgrave news. I forgot to post this in the last post (two weeks ago) and I only remember at the last moment. The Nickstarter (or Gnickstarter which they are calling it) had started for their "Into The Breeding Pits". A Gnickstarter is a North Star and Osprey Games pre-order program offering you deals on their new products. Basically it is a KickStarter, but the turn out is faster as the products are already in production. Their are six levels to back/pre-order at. Level One is "Pit Slave" and in it you get a copy of the "Into The Breeding Pits" book and a Wizard Sheet. Level Two is "Pit Survivor" and in it you get everything in Level One, the plastic Gnolls boxset and all Spend Goals. Level Three is "Pit Warrior" and in it you get everything in Level Two and four packs of the new metal Gnolls figures. Level Four is "Pit Chief" and in it you get everything in Level Three, the three new Wizard packs, the new Specialist Soldier pack and the Barbarian Chief figure for the next book "Forgotten Pacts". Level Five is "Pit Lord" and in it you get everything in Level Four, the Frostgrave Rulebook, the "Thaw of the Lich Lord" book, the Soldiers plastic box set, the Cultists plastic box set, the Lich Lord figureand the Gnoll Chieftain figure. Lastly Level Six is "Pit Master" which includes the whole Frostgrave range.
Since it started they managed to unlock the following Spend Goals that will be added to Level Two and above: A Hyena; three Giant Rats; a Violent Fungi; and a wallpaper for participants computers.
The Spend Goals that are still going as I post this are: A second Violent Fungi and a second wallpaper at £28k.
I backed this at Level Two.

Lastly some Transformers Earth Wars news. Last week they have added both Huffer and Bombshell to the game and then this week saw Longhaul and Alpha Bravo added to the game as well as some updates. Also yesterday they started their first event, "More Than Meets The Eye".

Neoscream's Life: 6th to 19th June 2016

Welcome everybody to another the "Neoscream's Life" post. This is my weekly post of life, what games I have been playing, what I have been painting and what I have watching and reading. This week's Kingdom Death opening (Well second due to the look) pictures is the Wet Nurse.

"Blog News"

Sorry for the lack of posts last week. I had busy with training for the Cardfight Vanguard team Nationals, playing Transformer Earth Wars and suffering from a cold.

"Life"

On Monday the 6th of June I went to Wargames Workshop MK for the fifth part of the Frostgrave campaign. My Wizard only gained two levels again. With the first level I upped her Hit Points and with the second she learned the spell Wall. My Captain also finally gained his first level. I decided to up his Hit Points. Sadly I lost my Warhound and a Thug. Which I need to replace.

On Friday the 10th of June I went down to Simon's with Richard and Darren H for some Kingdom Death Monster. We were up against the Kingsman again. This time it was a level two. It was a nightmare. An orange humanoid fish kept on appearing in front of the Survivors cry out something. Away we lost two survivors during this Showdown phases and a third (one one with the Twilight Sword) was cursed by the King's Curse. Due to the length of the battle took, we did not have time for the settlement phase.

On Tuesday the 14th and Wednesday the 15th of June I had some Vanguard practice with Liam, Shell and Crawford, as well as Matt on Wednesday and Jordan and Jonathan on Thursday. We worked on a new secret deck. There was talks of Training on Monday 13th of June as well at Wargames Workshop MK, but it never happened.

Sadly there was no HeroClix on both Thursdays due to people being busy.

During both week’s I was suffering from a cold. It was not anything major, it was nothing to wright or talk about normally. However the first couple of days of the first week I was a little out of it and then last Friday just before Springfest I was really knocked out by the cold in pain all around my head. Luckily it had cleared by Springfest.

"Cardfight Vanguard Tournament"

On Saturday the 11th of June, I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a Sneak Peek for G-BT07 "Glorious Bravery of Radiant Sword". Sadly Due to numbers that did not happen. Luckily There was a normal tournament to jump into. I decided to us my Nova Grappler deck. Sadly I cannot remember the results (due to how long I left it to wright this), but I did not do well. If I remembered correctly, it was more to do with time. Beeping Dyspraxia.

"Springfest Bushiroad 2016"

On Saturday the 11th of June, I went down to Huddersfield with Liam, Crawford and Jordan for Team Nationals. Sadly at the last moment Matt and Shell pulled out due to sickness. Luckily for Liam (they were his team mates), he managed to find a team online that were missing a member for other problems.

Talking about teams, I have been forgetting to talk about my team change. I was originally meant to be with Jackie and another Robert. However, due to major transport problems due to costs (over £105 per person, leaving about midnight with long waits in between stations and arrive too early) and a opening in Jordan's and David's team which includes a cheaper/better transport to the event, I ended changing teams.

Anyway, we meet up with David, Jonathan, Sam and Liam's new team mates at Huddersfield and then registered. I was using the new deck that I built during the week with the help of the others. It was a all new Cosmic Heroes deck. Jordan was using a Tachikaze deck and David was using a Kagerō deck. I managed to win my game the second round and both David and Jordan won their games on the round four. Due to the press getting to David we dropped out after the fifth round. Liam's team also dropped out then after turn five too. So we got in some trades in. I managed to finally got my fourth Cool Hank and Bustered for my Nova Grapple deck. Sadly David left. Liam managed to get a ton of cards for Shell. Jonathan's, Sam's and Crawford's team dropped out after round six. We decided to go and get lunch (which turned into more of a dinner) and then returned for more trading. We did take longer trading as Crawford (and Jordan) kept on going off for "Just one more Trade". We got back home about 9:30.

It was a great day out with the guys. Wish I could have gotten more games in or more trades or a game of Luck and Logic. But is was still a great day and I do plan on going to Solos in August.

"Painting and Converting"

During the two weeks I sadly only managed to finish painting one figure. A Doctor Who one. Because of this I have decided to not do any "Painting and Converting" sections this week.

Gaming News from Neoscream: 12th June 2016

Welcome to the “Gaming News from Neoscream” post and its my Birthday. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs and some card games, as well as my miniatures painting and upcoming local events.

"Blog News"

First off sorry for the late post. Due to how busy next week will be, There will be NO "Gaming News from Neoscream" post next week and the "Neoscream's Life" will be late if it happens next week. This is due to getting readily for the Cardfight Vanguard Team Nationals.

“Gaming News”

First off we have the Bushiroad news. With Weiß Schwarz, next week will see the release of the Osomatsu's booster set in Japanese.
With Cardfight Vanguard, next week will see the release of G Booster Set 7 "Glorious Bravery of Radiant Sword" in English.

Next is the HeroClix news. The last two weeks we got previews of: Daredevil, Wasp and Vision from Marvel Civil War (not to be confused with Marvel Captain America Civil War).

Now for the Cool Mini or Not news. They have started a new KickStarter for a dungeon crawler in partnership with Guillotine Games, their partner behind the amazing Zombicide. The game is called Massive Darkness. A dungeon crawl board game with no game master. Explore the darkness for loot and experience, facing hordes of awesome miniatures. It has already passed the one million dollar mark. There is only one pledge level, Lightbringer, which comes with the base game, the Kickstarter Exclusive Roaming Monster Cyclops Cliffbreaker and all Stretch Goals.
Since starting they have managed to unlock the following Stretch Goals: The game was funded; an Orc Flayer Boss; two Orc Flayer Minions; a KickStarter exclusive Dice Bag; a Dwarf Defender Boss; two Dwarf Defender Minions; the Kickstarter Exclusive Roaming Monster Werewolf; a Goblin Archer Boss; four Goblin Archer Minions; the Kickstarter Exclusive Hero Myrian the Witch; an Orc Enforcer Boss; two Orc Enforcer Minions; the Kickstarter Exclusive Roaming Monster Orgre Brute; a Goblin Warrior Boss; four Goblin Warrior Minions; the Roaming Monster Cockatrix; a Dwarf Warrior Boss; four Dwarf Warrior Minions; the Hero Zoe the Dwarf; the Kickstarter Exclusive Roaming Monster Orgre Rockbreaker; the Hero Azrael the High Elf; the Noble Warrior Class Sheet Pad; the Kickstarter Exclusive Roaming Monster Weretiger; the Hero Mila the Barbarian; the Kickstarter Exclusive Roaming Monster Flesh Golem; six Oillars; the Kickstarter Exclusive Roaming Monster Iron Golem; fifteen Level One Treasure Chests; the Kickstarter Exclusive Roaming Monster Cun-Ha the Mummy; the Hero Ajax the Sorcerer; the Sorcerer Class Sheet Pad; the Enemy box expansion "Elementals"; and the Kickstarter Exclusive Roaming Monster Living Construct.
The Stretch Goals that are still going as I post this are: Six Troglodyte Brute Minions at $1,300k; and a Troglodyte Brute Boss at $1,340.
I have only backed this at $1 for the updates. I have too many games at the moment and I already have a dungeon crawler, Dungeon Saga.

Next is the Fragged Empire RPG: Protagonist Archive and Miniatures news. The Pledge manager will be up soon.

Now for the Mantic news. They are currently working on a second edition of DreadBall, that might hit KickStarter next month and be released next year. This will included re-balancing of the rule and of all six seasons of teams (twenty five teams) as well as some new teams. Some of the major changes they are saying may/will happen are changes on how Giants, Jacks and MVPs work and a making all the teams play more unique. The latter will be a hard one to get off do to the LARGE number of team, especially if they plan on adding more. Maybe merging some would be an idea as people do complain that there is TOO many teams.

Next is the Cryptozoic news. the Pledge Managers for the Ghostbusters the Boardgame II.

Now for some Privateer Press news. Their yearly event, Lock and Loaded, is currently happening in America. With it marks the pre-release of Mark three of Warmachine and Hordes and the release of War Room Two. War Room in the office army Builder app for Warmachine and Hordes and this new version is for Mark Three of the games. Anyone who brought digital decks from the original version gets 20% off the  mark three decks.
I have tried to rebuild my main Cygnar force for Mark Three. Sadly I have to drop the Squire due to two reason. The first being the fact that you can only have one attachment and the second this that the rest of the army hits the 50 points standard (the new 35 points of mark two).

Lastly some Transformers Earth Wars news. They have added both Headstrong and Slug to the game.

Neoscream's Life: 30th May to 5th June 2016

Welcome everybody to another the "Neoscream's Life" post. This is my weekly post of life, what games I have been playing, what I have been painting and what I have watching and reading. This week's Kingdom Death opening pictures is the Chosen.

"Life"

On Monday I went to my friend Jake's wedding. It was great seeing him so happy.

On Tuesday evening and Sunday day time I went to Wargames Workshop MK for some Cardfight Vanguard practice. I managed to get some good practice with my Novas and improved my deck by quite I bit. Just one more Busted needed, as well as seven Cool Hank and Clay-Dolls.

"HeroClix"

On Thursday evening I went down to York House for HeroClix. The scenario was is time "David(s) verses Goliath". Build two 300 points team.

  • With Team One, "Goliath", you must only have one single figure and it must be from your own collection. No other figure allowed in this team.
  • With Team Two, "David(s)", the maximum cost of individual figures is 100 points and you can borrow figures from other players.

Unlike normal, due to the quickness this should play, we did six round instead of the normal three. Each round you play as David or Goliath while the other player will play as the other.

My David(s) team was:

Pyro (006 Marvel Days of Future Past) 90
Destiny (011 Marvel Days of Future Past) 50
Mystique (018 Marvel Days of Future Past) 82
Havok (024 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 81
=303 points

My Goliath team was:

Slattern (007 Pacific Rim) 300

In the first round I was up against Michael who was using his Goliath team who was:

Gate Guardian (052 Yu-Gi-Oh Season One) 300

This meant I was using my David(s) team. This was a close game as it ended up being Pyro and his Flame Construct against Gate Guardian and then Gate Guardian got a Critical Miss while attacking Pyro. This ended up KOing Gate Guardian. So I ended up winning, due to a Critical Miss. Also Darren S's David team defeated Adrian's Goliath team.

On the second round I was up against Darren S's David(s) team. Sadly I for to take photos and cannot remember his full team, but he was using an X-Men team with Banshee and the new Quicksilver. This meant I using my Goliath team. Like normal against Darren S I lost. Also Michael's Goliath team won against Adrian's David(s) team.

On the third round I was up against Adrian's Goliath team who was:

Hal Jordan and Sinestro (052 DC War of Light) 300

This meant I was using my David(s) team. Sadly I lost this game. Also Darren S's Goliath team defeat Michael's David(s) team.

On round four I was up against Michael's David(s) team who were:

Quicksilver (054 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 75
Wolverine (005 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 75
Captain America (001 Marvel Captain America Civil War Starter) 95
Falcon (004 Marvel Captain America Civil War Starter) 45
=290 points

This meant I was using my Goliath team. Slattern white washed his team. Also Darren S's Goliath team defeat Adrian's David(s) team.

On the fifth round I was up against Darren S's Goliath team who was:

Hulk (052 Marvel Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD) 300

This meant I using my David(s) team. Like normal against Darren S I lost. Also Adrain's Goliath team won against Michael's David(s) team.

In the sixth and final round I was up against Adrian's David(s) team. Sadly I for to take photos and cannot remember his full team, but he was using a Green Lantern team with Rond Vidar and Guy Gardner. This meant I was using my Goliath team. I So how managed to white wash him. Also Darren S's David(s) team defeat Michael's Goliath team.

Over Darren S won and the BIG guy wins more than the little guys, about two out of three times.

Massive Darkness Kickstarter Trailer

Opps. A bit of news that I missed.

Gaming News from Neoscream: 4th June 2016

Welcome to the “Gaming News from Neoscream” post and its my Birthday. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs and some card games, as well as my miniatures painting and upcoming local events.

“Gaming News”

First off we have the Bushiroad news. With Weiß Schwarz, last week saw the release of the Sword Art Online 2 Volume 2 booster set in English.
With Cardfight Vanguard, last  the release of G Booster Set 7 "Glorious Bravery of Radiant Sword" in Japanese.

Next is the HeroClix news. The last two weeks we got previews of: Another Iron Man, another Captain America, Atlas, Goliath, Coldblood, Bullseye and Taskmater from Marvel Civil War (not to be confused with Marvel Captain America Civil War).

Now for the Cryptozoic news. The Humanbusters expansion from the Ghostbusters The Board Game 2 KickStarter now includes rules for player verses player rules.

Next is the Steamforged Games LTD news. A survey has been sent to all backers of the Dark Souls KickStarter. Please note that this in NOT a pledge manager.

Now for the Cool Mini or Not news. The pledge manager for Rail Raiders Infinite is finally up on their web store.

Lastly I would like to talk a little about a new mobile game I just pick up. Yes I now I rare talk about non miniature gaming here. A couple a day ago SpaceApe release to the general public (it had been around a in beta form in before hand) a new mobile game that hit both the Android and Apple stores. It was based on something from my childhood. The game was "Transformers: Earth Wars". It is a G1 base building game. Many of the character designs are based on the "Combiner Wars" designs from the toys and IDW comics. If you like Transformers I would HIGHLY recommend it. I am playing as Autobot (I know shame on me), under the username of Ninjam Prime.
