My Mantic Bits Box |
Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”. This is my
weekly gaming post for miniature games, non-computer RPGs and some card
games. (Opps! I have spotted the mistake and removed it. Faceplam.)
Gaming News
First off is the Mantic news. They have finally
released DreadBall rules for Blaine and he looks is very nasty. Mantic well try
one more time to do hard plastics for Asterians and Forge Fathers for Deadzone,
but it does not mean it will happen. Also images for the ruined building sprues
and more CAD images of the Strider were posted on the Deadzone KickStarter.
Reads of my "Neoscream's Life" post
already know that I received my Mantic 2013 Bits Box. However I forgot to talk
about it and post the picture. It did not have as much stuff as the 2012 one.
However about half the box was stuff that was released during 2013. In it I
received a Warpath Marauder Raptor vehicle, a Warpath Marauder Grunt Command
Sprue, a Warpath pack of five Forge Father Stormrage Veterans (more Dwarf
X-Guard troops), a Kings of War Elven Bomen sprue (damn it I already have a ton
of them), a Kings of War Undead Revenant sprue, a Kings of War pack of Basilean
Sisterhood Panther Lancers (would have preferred the ones on foot), a King of
War pack of three Ogre Warriors (CWC 7TV team could use one of them as Big
Show), the DreadBall giant Dozer (damn it, I waited the Nameless Spawn or Alpha
Simian. Even the Big Mech would have been more useful. Well that is left), the
DreadBall MVP Anne-Marie Helder (another bad pull) and a Loka Air Rook (wow a
Loka figure too, the Air Queen would have been better but I have guy).
I have filled in both the Mars Attacks and second
DeadZone Surveys now. Crap more money going out.
Next is the HeroClix news. This week there was
previews of: Mr Majestic from DC Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes; and Injection Fairy Lily from Yu-Gi-Oh Series One.
Now for the Crooked Dice Games news. The new
Federated Security Troopers are out now. There is the three new Troopers for £9
or £3.25 each and the heavy weapon trooper for £3.50. Also two starter sets are
out now. The first is the S.H.I.V.A that contains the Guru, Kali, three
Thuggees, four Cultists and four minions with SMGs. The second one is the new
Minion set that contains four minions with rifles, four minions with SMGs, four
minions with hand weapons, a commander and an Administrator. Both are £25. The S.H.I.V.A
starter is a great deal as it good sized force for £25. I think it was about
250 ratings. Oh and this month’s Deal of
the Month is when you spend over £40 on non-new release stuff from their web
store and you will get any PDF of you choose (excluding 7th Voyage ones) from
their site worth up to £10 free. Just let them know what one would you like
when you are at the checkout.
Next is the Privateer Press news. First off they
have revealed a painted image of the Limited Edition Sculpts from the
Warmachine: Tactics KickStarter and the cover for the Rites of Passage novel. The figures should all be ready for the April shipping data. I am now wishing I went for the Retribution one as well.
Next the release dates for February are finally up.
Wednesday will see the release of the Khador Epic Warcaster Unit Orsus Zoktavir
“the Butcher Unleashed”, the Retribution Warcaster Issyria “Sibyl of Dawn”, the
Convergence Unit Attachment Transverse Enumerator and the Minion Unit Bog Trog
Ambushers. February 26th will see the release of the Convergence
Warcaster Unit Iron Mother Directrix with her Exponent Servitors, the Circle
Light Warbeast Gorax, the Minion Farrow Heavy Warbeast War Hog, the Warmachine
High Command expansion set “Into the Breach”, the Retribution of Scyrah
Myrmidon Wreck Markers and the Convergence of Cyriss Vector Wreck Markers.
Lastly there was an image of the Convergence solo
Enigma Foundry. There is no date for it yet, however I would bet it will be in May.
Now for the Kingdom Death news. There has been a
major re-stock on their web store. On it now are the Pinup White Speaker, the Pinup Savior, the Pinup
Great Game Hunter, the Pinup Architect, the White Speaker, the 54mm Twilight
Knight Pinup, the 54mm Pinup Preacher, the Chosen, the Dung Beetle Knight and
the Experiment of Death box set.
Now for the Warlord Games news. There has been a FAQ
and Errata for the Judge Dredd. Also greens for a Plod Bot and CAD designs for a common street bike for the Judge Dredd game were posted by Mongoose Publishing on the old KickStater page.
Next is the Elven Adventurers Box Set KickStarter
news. The greens (well greys) for four of the figures have been revealed. The
Elven Sniper is looking nice.
Lastly Renaissance Miniatures will be doing a
pirates thread 28mm terrain set KickStarter. They have done some fantastic
Medieval Village and East Asian Village terrain in the past and I can see this
terrain being fantastic too from the examples soon so far.
Past Events
On Monday I had a couple of games of DreadBall with
Rob. I was trying my Season Two Corporation team, “The Battle Angles” (named
after Battle Angle Alita). Rob used Marauders in the first game and Zees in the
second and I somehow managed to win both games. WOW. I might use them in next’s
tournament.
