Gaming News from Neoscream: 28th November 2014

Welcome to “Gaming News from Neoscream”. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs, some card games and computer games.  Oh and Happy Black Friday to the American readers, you holiday will most likely even make the rest of the world broke. Due to the size of the Kingdom Death update ALL the pictures are from Kingdom Death. Sadly there is room for all of them (at least one is missing). To get better look of them you can click on them OR visit the Kingdom Death Monster KickStarter page under Update 93

“Gaming News”

First off is the new version Paranoia news. Over the week they managed to unlock: The Game’s Master’s Scream; the Ultraviolet pledge level which includes all the stretch goals for £80; and the Ultraviolet Plus pledge level which includes which includes all the stretch goals and add-ons for £110.
The Stretch Goals that still going on: Yellow Clearance Black Box Blues at £180k.
The KickStarter will be ending Tuesday so let us see what can be unlocked between now and then.

Now for the Wireless Power Board Game Terrain and Miniature Lighting KickStarter. Sadly it is still being funded, however they have added a bunch of new backer levels and add-ons.
The KickStarter will be ending Tuesday so let us see if they can fund it by then then sadly I do not think it will.

Next is the Mantic news. Since last week they have managed to unlock: A Kings of War Worldwide Campaign with a digital copy added to Living Legend level; a Campaign Character Pack; five Soul Reavers were added to the Undread Mega-Starter Army; a Basilean Heavy Arbalest Warmachine was added to the Basilean Mega-Starter Army; an Abyssal Iffrit in the Forces of the Abyss Mega-Starter Army; an Elf King on Dragon as an add; a Basilean High Paladin on Dragon; an Ogre Warlock was added to the Ogre Mega-Starter Army; three Elf Forest Shamblers were added to the Elf Mega-Starter Army; 4Ground terrain as add-ons; Secret Weapon Rolling Fields as add-ons; an Abyssal Dwarf Supreme Ironcaster on Greater Winged Abyssal; Army Boosters for most of the armies as add-ons; a new Ultimate pledge level that has everything in God of War and eight Mega-Starter Army too for $850; and an Orc War Drum team was added to the Orc Mega-Starter Army.
Currently as I post this these are the stretch goals that have not been done yet: Three Ogre Berserker Braves will be added to the Ogre Mega-Starter Army at $240k.
The KickStarter will be ending Monday so let us see what can be unlocked between now and then.
Mantic are doing a 15% off everything in their web store on Black Friday by using the following code, “THANKSGIVING2014”. They have also started to do bundle deals for Christmas.

Now for the Stonehaven Miniatures news. All of the Sepia and Colour files for their Pop-Up Miniature Terrain Kit our now online for all backers of the right level. Sweet. Also the physical copies should start shipping by the end of this week if they have not already.

Next is the Mechadrome Heavy Metal Combat news. The company behind this game, Gunfight Games, are doing a sale to celebrate Black Friday that ends tomorrow (Saturday). Use the following coupon code "CHRISMECHS" on their web store to get 20% your order.

Now for the HeroClix news. There are thirteen figure on their Watch List. These are: All nine the Entities for DC War of Light; Bill, Agent of A.I.M. (102 Marvel Deadpool); Iron Pharaoh (051 Marvel Invincible Iron Man); Bizarro (039 DC Superman and the Legion of Superheroes); and Proxima Midnight (050 Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy). For those who do not know what the Watch List is, it is a list of figures that seem broken in rule which they are watching to see if they (and in some cases the game rules) need to be changed.

Next is the Ninja Division news. Robotech RPG Tactics is now available on the Palladium Books web store.

Now for the Kingdom Death news. First off the Black Friday news. They are basically doing 50% off everything apart from anything new added for Black Friday. The new things are another round of per-orders for the Satan Twins and like last year another chance (but this IS the last time) to back Kingdom Death Monster. Like last year there is three levels however they do not come with the t-shirt this time. Bronze is the same as Survivor Level in KickStarter, Silver is Survivor level plus all the expansions, and Gold is Survivor level plus all the expansion, Pin-Ups and Promos.
Also today there was a massive update on KickStarter. Currently there are five kits still currently being worked on. These are the Dragon Armour Kit (tooling complete samples in the mail), the Silk Armour Kit (currently being tooled), the Gorm Armour Kit (currently being tooled), the Sunstalker Armour Kit (currently being tooled) and the Green Knight Kit (currently being tooled). They have estimated that it will take (at the moment) a team of ten people one and a half months to pack all the Survivor levels. This does not mean that they are starting anytime soon. Painting of the books and cards for the Expansions will most likely be done and delved to then warehouse by the end of February 2015.
We got a ton of new previews in the update. The core game cards, the core game rulebook, the Leather Armour kit, the White Lion Armour kit, the Phoenix Armour kit, Dragon King in both forms, People of the Dragon (comes with extra heads that are compatible to armour kits and the hand are armour kit compatible too), Spidicules, Spiderlings (the Spidicules expansion will now include six of them), the Lonely Muse (that now comes with the Lonely Tree expansion), Dung Beetle Knight and the Rolling Armour kit.
At the moment they are estimating that it will start shipping to backers around June/July time in 2015. I have listed it as July on the KickStarter time table below. Please note that it is NOT set in stone.
Everything is looking so fantastic and beautiful, the artwork and the figures (OK the Pin-Ups and some of the female characters like the new Lonely Muse sadly have far too big over size breasts for my taste). I cannot wait to get a hold of mine.

Next is the Dust: Operation Babylon news. Things are being delayed a little me. The UK warehouse is expecting its delivery early next week and the US a week after. This is about a week later than reported last week.

Now for the Crooked Dice Games news. They are doing a 50% off sale on a ton of their books, cards and PDFs for Black Friday.

Lastly here is some more Black Friday and Christmas gaming sales news of places I do not normally report on. Battle Foam are doing a four day sale that started today and will end on Monday. Megacon Games, the company behind MERCS and Myth, are doing a sale that ends on Christmas Day. Warlord Games, Hawk Wargames and Fantasy Flight Games have started special deals for Christmas. Anvil Industry will be doing 30% off Black Ops Kits on Black Friday. Hasslefree Miniatures are doing a 20% off everything on Black Friday is you use the code “Friday2014” And lastly Wyrd Miniatures are doing a sale on Black Friday. There will be a ton of new releases, special edition figures, individual puppets from Puppet Wars are available and 50% off first edition models and books.

“Painting and Converting”

I was planning to start this next week but due to time today there will be no normal "Painting and Converting" section this week or next week (and maybe the following week). There has been a slow down on painting and with the Christmas painting not helping the normal painting time table I have decided to stop posting the painted figure for a while to chance up. However next week  I will be posting pictures of how the Christmas painting is going.

Speaking of Christmas painting, I have been painting a bunch of figures for Christmas this week. Five out of the eighteen figures that I am painting are almost finished. They just have their bases to do.

Until next time, Keep Rolling.

Neoscream's Life: 17th to 23rd November 2014

Mitsuru Kirijo
Welcome to the Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of some of the things I have done during last week and news on the great Geek Goddess, AJ.

“Life”

This week was a bad week. During the week work was a bit more of a nightmare than normal. It was not over the top bad, but with some personal thoughts, I was feeling very down. It is just life really getting to me again at the moment. Stuck in a dead-end nightmarish job, regardless of how many jobs I apply for I do not get a word back, and the lonely feeling of being 32 and never having a girl friend or been on a date. Oh there are other bits too, but I will not be going into them (due to time, stupid things and personal thing). This all was not helped with towards the end of the week (starting around Thursday) my stomach started to act up. It began with bad stomach pains when I needed to go and then when I go it was barely anything. On Saturday my mum and mates tried to cheer things up which made thing much better on that day. However both the stomach and work brought me back down hard. After Saturday night my stomach decided to completely stopped going (even with medicate to make me go), however the pain (cramps) would not go and as the day went on Sunday I started to feel like I was going the throw up (which I did not). With work I will not doing into detail, but they did really get me pissed off big time and the had to complain to the area manager, sadly via another store manager via text as ours was not it and that they would not give me to area managers number. I would have much preferred talking to the area manager on the phone to got my point thou better as it looks like I have gotten someone in trouble who I was not complaining about.

Lastly is the current Hasslefree Miniatures Sculpting Contest news. I have been working painting the army of miniatures for Christmas. To the left there is a picture of how things were going. The Lily Rain Eves are going well. I might have them finish by the end of the week. It is just the Kallens I need to do more work on.

"AJ and the WWE"

On Raw last week, Nikki Bella forced her assistant Brie Bella dress just like AJ (sporting AJ’s new top) for a supposed exhibition match. The real AJ came out to commentary (also sporting the new top). Nikki was about to win until AJ left commentary and gets on the ring apron shouting “Hey!” With the distraction Brie snuck a snaky win against her sister/boss. AJ them got into the ring and beat the crap out of Nikki. Brie started her husband’s (Daniel Bryan) “Yes” chant in support of AJ. However AJ then took her out too. That is AJ for you.

On Smackdown last week, AJ had a match against Brie. This time AJ dressed as Nikki. Nikki tried to distract AJ, however AJ throw Brie into Nikki taking them both out and then AJ pined Brie for the win. AJ then grabbed her title and made a quick escape before Nikki could retaliate.

The Survivor Series news will be covered next week as it airs on early Monday morning in the UK.

Gaming with Neoscream: 24th November 2014

Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”. This is my weekly gaming report and event write up post for miniature games, RPGs, card games and computer games. Sorry for another late post. I had to go into work early yesterday and then it ended up being a terrible day at work, does not help with being sick.

“This Week's Events”

On Thursday this week I went to York House for HeroClix. This week was a Villains only scenario. 400 points and all figures must be villains and under 100 points. I week I went for a Maggie themed team. I have always wanted to try a Maggie team, however I know that they will be terrible.
On the first round I was up against Darren S who was using a Brotherhood of Mutants themed team. Like normal against Darren S, I lost. Apart from his Flame Constructs I killed nothing of his. Also Adrian won his game against his brother Michael.
On the second round I was up against Michael who was using a Wrecking Crew themed team. Some how I managed to win this game with my poor damage values. Also Adrian shockingly won his game against Darren S.
On the third and final round I was up against Adrian who was using a Brotherhood of Mutants themed team. I managed to win this game. It really helped that I blocked/got rid of his two Probability Controllers. Also Darren S won his game against Michael.
Next week will be a "Famous Dues". 600 points, four actions, must include one Duo figure.

On Saturday evening I when down to Simon’s with Richard. We had a game of Transformers Risk. Simon was using Megatron’s forces, Richard was using Barricade’s forces and I was using Optimus Prime’s forces. Richard ended up winning the game

Gaming News from Neoscream: 21st November 2014

Welcome to “Gaming News from Neoscream”. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs, some card games and computer games.

“Gaming News”

First off is the new version Paranoia news. Over the week they managed to unlock: An extra adventure was added to Ultraviolet.
The Stretch Goals that still going on: The Game’s Master’s Scream at £150k.

Now for the Wireless Power Board Game Terrain and Miniature Lighting KickStarter. Sadly it is still being funded, however they have added a bunch of new backer levels and add-ons.

Next is the Privateer Press news. Wednesday saw the release of Skorne Epic Cavalry Battle Engine Warlock Xerxis the Fury of Halaak, the Minion Farrow Warlock Helga the Conquerer and issue 57 of No Quarter magazine. Also the re-release of the ten man Flameguard Cleansers Protectorate Unit, the fifteen man Blackbane's Ghost Raiders Cryx Character Unit, the six man Strider Blightblades Legion Blighted Nyss Unit, the six man Strider Rangers Legion Blighted Nyss Unit, the ten man Praetorian Keltarii Skorne Unit and the ten man Praetorian Swordsmen Skorne Unit.

Now for the Mantic news. The Kings of War Mini Kickstarter has started and is going strong.  In the KickStarter there are two main pledge levels. There is "Living Legend" and there is "God of War". At the start of the KickStarter you got both a hardback and mini softback version of the second edition rulebook in "Living Legend" and in "God's of War" you get everything in "Living Legend" and ever two Starter Armies or a Mega-Starter Army of your choice.
In a space of a week they have: Funded the new rulebook; Army List Creator and Chess Clock apps were added to Living Legend level; counters were added to Living Legend level; an Elf Mage Queen was added to the Elf Mega Starter Army; a Basilean War-Wizard was added to the Basilean Mega Starter; the Forces of the Abyss Starter set with 40 Lower Abyssals (can be built into ever melee or range versions), 20 Abyssal Succubus and 10 Gargoyles; the Forces of the Abyss Mega Starter set with 80 Lower Abyssals (can be built into ever melee or range versions), 40 Abyssal Succubus, 10 Gargoyles and an Abyssal Champion; a Kickstarter Exclusive Resin Tyrant King Blaine on Gramakh was added to Living Legend level; Movement Trays and dice as add-ons; an Undead Necromancer was added to the Undead Mega-Starter Army; the Dwarf Warsmith was added to the Dwarfs Mega Starter Army; and a new Map of Mantica was added to Living Legend level.
Currently as I post this these are the stretch goals that have not been done yet: A Kings of War Worldwide Campaign with a digital copy added to Living Legend level at $190k.
With DreadBall Xtreme, Mantic have started sending out the PDFs of the rulebook for Xtreme (not to be confused with the DreadBall Season books). I have received the email but have not had the time to look at it as I have HeroClix last night. On a bit of bad news Guardians of Tyr will no longer be running DreadBall Tournaments at Wargames Workshop MK.
Also the Mars Attacks rulebook and Compendium have been updated. What changes have they done I do not know as it was done yesterday.

Next is the Kingdom Death news. I somehow missed a short update last week. It was showing off the painted finished rulebook and some artwork. They also stated That there will not be any mini updates until after Black Friday, as they are working on a MASSIVE update for Black Friday.
On Tuesday they had a restock in their store of Savior, Savior Age 20, Savior Age 40, Savior Age 80 and Super Savior. However by the time I post this the Savior Age 40 has sold out.

Now for the Journey: Wrath of Daemons news. Due to some MAJOR problems they will not be able to start shipping until mid-December. This will mean that that it will not be arriving for Christmas for backers sadly. The delays is due to a bunch of quality problems with things like the packaging, cards and tokens.

Next is the HeroClix news. Last week the DC Flash set was released. HCRealm's are slowly getting all of the figures up on their units section. Hopefully they will be done by the end of the week.

Now for the Mechadrome Heavy Metal Combat news. Yesterday I received my stuff. I got the rulebook and cards. The rulebook is much shorter than I expected, but it is a more handler size. Sadly they have dropped the ability for pilots to improve during a league. I am have said it before, but I am planning on using this as the basis for my Mecha Knights game. I was planning on doing some changes a I would have preferred a smaller scaled game. I am planning on doing it as 12mm scale instead of the 28mm. This will mean I will be halving all the movement and ranges to fit the scale change better. So adding a pilot enchantment system will just another thing.

Next is the Dust: Operation Babylon news. They should be receiving the stuff from the manufacturers in their UK Warehouse by the end of the month and in their US and Australia by early December. They have decided to split the shipment to backers into two wave (WTF they decided to do this three months after the KickStarter original was meant to ship). Wave one should hopefully arrive before Christmas and will contain: Operation Babylon, Army Deals (Primed and Premium), Cards, Rulebooks, Tokens, Templates and any Achilles releases. Everything else will be in wave two which there is currently no date for.

Lastly is the current Hasslefree Miniatures Sculpting Contest news. I finally got a message on last Friday night saying that they just received the figures and will bill me soon and ship it on Saturday. Oddly I received a message on Saturday that it was on its way and then received the figures on Tuesday, however I never got the bill until this morning (which I paid).

This week's figures front view
This week's figure rear view
The week's Deadzone figures

Next week there should be six Standard Zombie Walkers, two Standard Zombie Runners and a Standard Zombie Fatty.

I have not really done much painting this week, but I did do a ton of undercoating for Christmas.

Until next time, Keep Rolling.
