Gaming News from Neoscream: 29th January 2016

Welcome everyone to the “Gaming News from Neoscream” post. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs and some card games, as well as my miniatures painting and upcoming local events.

“Gaming News”

First off we have the Bushiroad news. With Weiß Schwarz, next Friday will see the release of Puyo Puyo Pack Trial Deck in Japanese.
Also with Cardfight Vanguard, today see the release of G Booster Set 5 "Moonlit Dragonfang" in English.
And in Japan Bushiroad have released today a new card game called "Luck and Logic". The releases for the game are two trial decks (SD01"Brave Logic" and SD02 "Rinne Logic") and the booster set BT01 "Growth and Genesis". This is linked with the new anime I have been watching and they are some cross promotional stuff with Cardfight Vanguard. Both the Trial decks have a Cardfight Vanguard card lossy based on a character (not necessarily titled character). Sadly they are not from any of the clans I collect. The game is meant to be released in English during this summer.

Next is the HeroClix news. This week we got previews of: Desaad, four different versions of Batman and four different versions of Superman from DC World's Finest.

Now for the Modiphius news. With the Infinity RPG they have released a updated character sheet for the game.

Next is the Cool Mini or Not news. With Arcadia Quest they continued with the walk through of the Sculpting of Sarya. This time they talk about and showed off her "Mud Sample".

Now for the Mantic news. The Walking Dead: All Out War Miniatures Game is launching on Kickstarter on February the 1st. It is down to closes on February the 29th and wave one should be shipping is in August 2016. I will following this KickStarter, however I will most likely not be backing it past £/$1 as I am not after the game.
With Warpath we got images of physical model for the GCPS infantry and they are looking quite nice.

Next is the Stonehaven Miniatures news. They have posted images of more greens from the Halfling Adventurers KickStarter. Also backers can still e-mail their orders.

Lastly do not forget to vote on the Beasts of War 2015 Gaming Awards your favourites games and products of 2015.

Build Analysis: Cardfight Vanguard Dimensional Robos

Due to some spear time at work, I have decided to start a new series of posts that will first look into my decks for Cardfight Vanguard. This should in the future be expanding to include army/team builds for miniatures games. I would like this to be a more interactive post and get feedback from readers on things like improvements and tactics. Unlike "Neoscream's Life" and "Gaming News from Neoscream", this will be a fortnightly post, how ever I will most likely have multiple posts written a head of time. In fact I am in the middle of writing the next one. If I do get too ahead of my self I might make it weekly, however after the refit at work I do not have the extra time to write the posts and materiel to write about.

    Team Caesar from the anime
The first deck I am looking at is my newest one, well more like a return of my first ever deck, Dimensional Robos. Anyone who really knows me knows I am really into Robots. As a kid I was a huge Transformers fan and I even studied Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at University. So Dimension Police and Nova Grappler my clan of choose, however Dimension Police is my favourite of the two, most like because Team Caesar in my favourite team from the Cardfight Vanguard anime. Cannot wait until they make a comeback in G Gears Crisis. My first and only deck for a was a Dimension Police, and the original version of  it was a Dimensional Robo sub clan until until I moved on to Cosmic Hero sub clan.
Anyway with the release of Fighter’s Collection Winter 2015 which comes new support for the Dimensional Robo sub clan, I finally decided to rebuild my Dimensional Robo deck. It was something I have been planning to do for a while and had been doing some planning for it, but I finally got off my butt with these new cards. This is the deck I have built with the cards I own (or waiting to arrive):

    Grade Four
    Super Cosmic Hero, X-falcon x1
Legendary Dimensional Robo, Daikaiser Leon x4
99th-gen Dimensional Robo Commander, Great Daiearth x2
    Dark Superhero, Omega

    Grade Three
True Ultimate Dimensional Robo, Great Daikaiser x4
Ultimate Dimensional Robo, Great Daiyusha x2
    Super Dimensional Robo, Daikaiser x2

    Grade Two
    Dimensional Robo, Daibazooka x4
    Dimensional Robo, Daijet x4
    Dimensional Robo, Daidragon x2
    Dimensional Robo, Daibarrett x1

    Grade One
    Dimensional Robo, Dailion x4
    Dimensional Robo Operator, Yuka x4
    Cosmic Hero, Grandguard x4
    Commander Laurel x2

    Grade Zero
    Dimensional Robo, Daishot (Starter) x1
    Dimensional Robo, Gorescue (Heal) x4
    Dimensional Robo, Daibattles (Critical) x4
    Operator Girl, Reika (Stand) x4
    Dimensional Robo, Daiwolf (Critical) x2
    Dimensional Robo, Gofight (Stand) x2

Yes for those who do not know, I have managed to pick up two more Daikaiser Leons. Insert evil laugh.
The main Tactics in from grade three is to ever Break Ride into my Legion (True Daikaiser and Ultimate Daiyusha) or Stride into Daikaiser Leon or Daiearth at the are time (eg not as the first Stride). Then with the help of Laurel I can ever attack twice with my Vanguard or make my opponent use up defensive cards blocking the first attack from Vanguard and have the Rearguard do the damage. However with the fact I field a lot of Stand triggers and this deck does not need high attack values to trigger abilities (Cosmic Heroes). With Laurel on the field and the field is full, I could get away with attacking with an un-boosted Rearguard first (Daidragon would, be the best choice), then attack with an un-boosted Vanguard, if I get a Stand trigger I can Stand the Rearguard that attacked so it can ever help Laurel re-stand my Vanguard if the Vanguard hit the attack or so it can attack again.
I am quite happy with this deck. There are a couple of changes I could do, but I do not know if I should do them.
The first is in the grade ones. Releasing a Dailion and a Yuka with two more Laurels. This would up the chance of playing Laurel. However this does heavily weaken the chance of me getting a grade one Dimensional Robo to ride on my first turn as over half of my grade ones would be none Dimensional Robo. I need it to be a Dimensional Robo to help activate the abilities some of my higher grade cards have as they will not trigger unless I have three Dimensional Robos in the soul. I could change the Grandguards with "Dimensional Robo, Daishield", but I need the Counter Change ability of Grandguard as the main attackers use a lot of Counter Blast.
With the grade twos Daibarrett was a place holder for a third Daidragon, however Daibarrett is quite useful. It fact I am wondering if I should drop a Daijet for a second Daibarrett.
I am using eight grade threes which is the normal for most deck builds. However due to the grade three drive trigger abilities of True Daikaiser and Daikaiser Leon most people field ten. I feel that it is a little over board, especially when Daibazooka is classed as a grade three on drive checks. But then again the only game I have gotten with this deck was a loss as I did not draw a single grade three during my drive check with my True Daikaiser/Ultimate Daiyusha Legion attack. However this might just be bad luck as I did not even draw a standard trigger. I have to wait and see. If I do up the number to ten I would have to drop a card from both my garde one and two line ups.
Lastly the grade fours. I do not own a copy of "Super Cosmic Hero, X-tiger", however if or when I get my hands on one I might replace X-falcon or Omega with it. Or I could hunt for two more copies of Daiearth and replace both X-falcon or Omega with them. However I most likely  spending money or trade fodder working on my other decks than getting more Daiearths.
Well it would be nice to get people's opinions on this deck and I do hope to hear from you all ever on here, Facebook or Twitter. At a later time I might come back and do an update post about this deck based on feedback and play testing.

As I was writing the post, the theme music of the above video kept on playing in my head. It is from an anime called Gravion. I wonder why? LOL. The next deck I will be doing will most likely be my Cosmic Hero deck.

    Until next time, enjoy life.

    Neoscream Life: 18th to 24th January 2016

Welcome everybody to another the Neoscream's Life post. This is my weekly post of life, what games I have been playing, what I have been painting and what I have watching and reading. OK I finally have new theme for the opening pictures, Monsters of Kingdom Death. First one is the White Lion.

    "Life"

The eczema on my face has cleared up after a couple of days other than that nit much happened last week. As I never gotten around to arrange a game for Monday, I decided to have break. However I did go to Wargames Workshop MK on Saturday for a Cardfight Vanguard Tournament and order tickets for me and Richard to see Foxes at the Round House on March 4rd.
This week is FINALLY the start of the refit at hell work. Only the drive-thru will be operating and according to the re-fitters the refit will take three weeks (which personal I dealt with experience from another stores refit). My shifts will be reduced from five/six days a week (normally six) to four days a week during the refit. However I will be paid the two weeks of holiday I still have left during this time to make up for the loss of hours. So sadly I can not use it to go away. C'est la vie.

    "HeroClix"

Like normal on a Thursday night, I went to York House for HeroClix. The Scenario this time was: "No More Mutants!" Having been driven mad by realising her children never existed, Scarlet Witch has used her Hex to de-power all mutants. 500 points. Any hero who get their power from being a mutant have -1 to all combat values and all there powers are outwitted.
I went for a Dark Avengers themed team who were:

    Moonstone (031a Marvel Avengers Assemble) 126 + Dark Avengers (ATA) 4 = 130
    Superia (032 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 140 + Dark Avengers (ATA) 4 = 144
    104 AVAS048 Trick Shot (048 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 104 + Dark Avengers (ATA) 4 = 108
    Bullseye (042 Marvel Web of Spider-Man) 117 + Dark Avengers (ATA) 4 = 121
    =503 points

The first round I was up against Michael who was using a Guardians of the Galaxy theme team who were:

Gamora (001 Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy comics) 55
Star-Lord (001 Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy movie) 95
Groot (051 Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy comics) 100
Adam Warlock (001 Marvel Infinity Gauntlet) 250
    =500 points

Ok technically this was not theme as Darren S grabbed the wrong figure for Michael, however as it was Darren S's mistake and not Michael's, Darren S yet it be a themed team. I managed to win this game. Also Adrian won his game against Darren S. On the second round I was up against Adrian who was using a Red Lantern Corps themed team who were:

Red Lantern Recruit (002 DC War of Light) 50
Laira (020a DC War of Light) 90
Atrocitus (112 DC War of Light) 160
Superboy Prime (057b DC War of Light) 190
    =490 points

The Red Lanterns were very powerful and I ended up losing the game. Also Darren S won his game against Michael. On the third and final round I was up against Darren S who was using a Wonders of the World themed team who were:

Batman (003 DC Superman and Wonder Woman) 60 + Wonders of the World (ATA) 5 = 65
Huntress (010 DC Superman and Wonder Woman) 60 + Wonders of the World (ATA) 5 = 65
Power Girl (011 DC Superman and Wonder Woman) 140 + Wonders of the World (ATA) 5 = 145
Superman II (001 DC Superman and Wonder Woman Fast Forces) 120 + Wonders of the World (ATA) 5 = 125
Green Lantern (003 DC Superman and Wonder Woman Fast Forces) 95 + Wonders of the World (ATA) 5 = 100
    =500 points

Sadly like normal against Darren S, I lost the game. Also Darren S won his game against Michael. Over all the Red Lanterns over powered us all.
This week's scenario will be "The UnAmericans". 500 point, only a third (in figures not points) of your team can be American (USA) Superheroes. Just for the record Superman and Supergirl are from Krypton but are considered American (Clark/Kara are USA Citizen) so would count as American.

    "Cardfight Vanguard Tournament"

On Saturday I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a Cardfight Vanguard Tournament. There were two tournaments being run. An extreme format one and a Sneak Peek for the new set coming this Friday, G-BT05 "Moonlit Dragonfang". At first I did not know which one to do. I wanted to try out my new Dimensional Robo deck, however the Stride side needed a ton of work done to it (I needed to get more "Legendary Dimensional Robo, Daikaiser Leon" and "99th-gen Dimensional Robo Commander, Great Daiearth"). Also I wanted to do draft, however I do not run or to run any of the clans. I decided to go with the Sneak Peek as I like the idea of the format and I can use the rare cards as trades for what I need.
In the draft I got some interesting cards and my deck ended up being:

    Grade 4
    Fiery March Colossus
    Dragon Destroyer Battle Deity, Kamusunoo
One Who Views the Planet, Globe Magus
    Grade 3
    Blitz-spear Dragoon
    Mirror-world Lion
    Fullsmilr Wyvern
    Metalglider Dragon
    Flip Croony x2
    Grade 2
    Tankman Mode Interrupt
    Rigid Crane
    Hellsgate Magician
    Nightmare Doll, Ginny
    Foot Brawler, Teiroc x2
    Grade 1
    Battle Sister, Tally
    Sacrifice Messiah
    Steam Fighter, Ur-zaba
    Gear Bat of Recasting
    Fire Ring Wyvern x2
    Grade 0
    Dreaming Bicorn (Starter)
    Steam Scara, Merkar
Lighting of Triumphant Returns, Reseph (Critical)
    Paradox-cannon Dracoked (Critical)
    Brawler, Streetfight Dragon (Critical)
    Triangle Magus (Draw)
    Prankster Girl of Mirrorland (Stand)
    Battle Sister Muffin (Critical) x2

Oh and Liam pulled the god pack. With it I won all three rounds. Making me the winner of the Sneak Peek. After the Sneak Peek I got a game against the Liam with my new Dimensional Robo deck. He was using him Spike Brothers deck. Sadly I lost, but that was due to bad luck than anything. However I traded the "One Who Views the Planet, Globe Magus" with Shell for a second "99th-gen Dimensional Robo Commander, Great Daiearth". I also made other trades to improve my Touken Ranbu deck. Overall a really enjoyable day.
Also on the next day I won two more copies of "Legendary Dimensional Robo, Daikaiser Leon" which gets the Stride side more competitive. So I am ready for the next tournament which will be the 13th of February.

Gaming News from Neoscream: 22nd January 2016

Welcome everyone to the “Gaming News from Neoscream” post. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs and some card games, as well as my miniatures painting and upcoming local events.

    “Gaming News”

First off we have the Bushiroad news. With Weiß Schwarz, today see the release of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Trial Deck, Booster Set and Meister Set in English.
Also with Cardfight Vanguard, today see the release of G Technical Booster 1 "The Reckless Rampage" in Japanese. Also next Friday will see the release of G Booster Set 5 "Moonlit Dragonfang" in English and there will be a Sneak Peek Event at Wargames Workshop MK tomorrow of it.

Next is the HeroClix news. This week we got previews of: Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, Ragman and two versions of Poison Ivy from DC World's Finest.

Now for the Ninja Division news. World wide shipping of Ninja All-Stars has started and there has been reported that backers have started to receive them outside of Asia.

Next is the Modiphius news. First off is their Infinity RPG. They have released a preview of the Lifepath from the core rulebook for backers only.
With their Thunderbirds Co-operative Board Game KickStarters, wave two should now start shipping mid to late February in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. While America, Canada and Europe should start shipping early to mid March.

Now for the Guild Ball news. They have preorders of Corsair from the Fisherman's Guild and Esters from the Brewer's Guild are up on their website. They are due out on next Friday.

Next is the Frostgrave news. The second PDF expansion, "Sellsword" is out now. It a new type of Soldier that gains experience called a  Captains to the game as well as three new Scenarios.

Now for the Shadows of Brimstone news. They are still working on getting wave 1.5 out and it should now start shipping to backers sometime in February. However this does mean that wave two has be delayed by several months as it was meant to ship it February. Their are sone good new. They have revealed that all new hero figures will be released in resin due to quality issues.

Next is the Cool Mini or Not news. With The Others: 7 Sins, due to a bit of a delay the shipping date has been pushed back a month. However this means that the Pledge Manager has been extended until February 1st.
With Arcadia Quest, we got an image of the finished artwork for the "Hell of a Box" box and the finished Guild Tokens for the new guilds from Inferno. They have also start a journey into Sculpting the hero Sarya as she was a character that they did not have sculpted. This week’s post talked about scale.

Now for the Mantic news. First off Deadzone Infestation news. Shipping has been delayed until March due to production delays and Chinese New Year. However they did show off a ton of finished stuff. These were: The hard plastic pieces for the Enforcer Jetbikes, Recon Unit N7-117, The Piper, Rat Swarms, the Night Terror, a Progenitor with Sniper Rifle, the Brood Mother, Blaine on a Jetbike, a Plague Aberration, the Veer-myn Heavy Chem Laser, the Veer-myn Heavy Chem Thrower, the craw for them and a hard plastic sprue of the Forge Father Steel Warriors.
With Warpath we got a reminder that the Pledge Manager ends on February the 29th. We also got images of the Plague Bursters and CAD images of the GCPS Hornet Dropship.

Next is the Exploding Kittens news. After the MASSIVE success of the card game on KickStarter, they have released it as an app game. Sadly it is only available from iTunes.

Now for some Kingdom Death news. There has been some MAJOR delays over the last 90 day due to roughly fifty-five e-mails a day about missing parts or missing orders for three months. This has meant that a lot of the Black Friday stuff have not shipped (mine being one of them), that most (or none) of the Christmas order have not shipped yet and that their was no January sales or new stuff on the web store. By the sound of it the major problem is that they are too many fouls reports and some manufacturer problems too. Also the delays do not help as a lot of the current one most be people complained about their orders not arriving yet.

Lastly the finalists of the Beasts of War 2015 Gaming Awards are up so please go and vote for your favourites.

      Neoscream Life: 11th to 17th January 2016

Welcome everybody to another the Neoscream's Life post. This is my weekly post of life, what games I have been playing, what I have been painting and what I have watching and reading. I am still thinking about what to do as my weekly opening picture, so I decided to give you a poster of a film that will take Valentine's Day with a storm.

      "Life"

The week began with some bad news. The talented David Bowie has passed away. He will be greatly missed by all.
On Monday evening after work I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a game of Kingdom Death Monster with Bob and Michael. At the beginning we had six survivors at the Settlement. Two died fighting a Level One White Lion and one died during the Settlement phase. This has left us with just three Survivors and we are up against the Butcher in the next game. We are doomed in this campaign.
On Friday evening I went down to Simon’s with Richard and Darren H to also play so Kingdom Death Monster. In this campaign we are doing tons better. We started with a lot more Survivors at the beginning. We decided to go up against a level one Screaming Antelope and did quite well. We did not use any Survivors at all. Now like the campaign I am are playing at Wargames Workshop MK, the next game will be against the Butcher.
During the week I have had a major problem with a rash over my eyelets. On Wednesday I got some face cream as I could not get any eczema cream at that point of time. It made the skin not as dry, but by the look of things it just irritated the rash. In fact it looked like someone had punched me in the right eye. So on Friday on the way to Simon's I went to Tesco with Richard and picked up some eczema cream, which helped a ton. As I post this it has mostly cleared up.

      "HeroClix"

Like normal on a Thursday night, I went to York House for HeroClix. The Scenario this time was: "The Common People", 400 points, only Common Rarity Figures. I went for an Alpha Flight themed team who were:

      Guardian (011 Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 100 + Alpha Flight (ATA) 4 = 104
      Aurora (012 Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 75 + Alpha Flight (ATA) 4 = 79
      Northstar (011 Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 75 + Alpha Flight (ATA) 4 = 79
      Box (008 Marvel Mutations and Monsters) 125 + Alpha Flight (ATA) 4 = 129
      =391 points

The first round I was up against Darren S who was using an Initiative theme team who were:

Hazmat (006 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 86
Mettle (007 Marvel Avengers Assemble)  88
      3-D Man (013b Marvel Avengers Assemble) 90
Rage (016 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 74
Justice (014 Marvel Avengers Assemble) 64
      =402 points

Like normal against Darren S, I lost. Also Adrian won his game against his brother Michael. On the second round I was up against Michael who was using an Avengers themed team who were:

Iron Man (001a Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 300
Scarlet Witch (006 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 100
      =400 points

I managed to win this game. Also Darren S won his game against Adrian. On the third and final round I was up against Adrian who was using an X-Men themed team who were:

Northstar (011 Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 75
      Magneto (014 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 150
Longshot (009 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 75
Emma Frost (010 Marvel Avengers vs X-Men) 100
      =400 points

Sadly I lost this game. Also Darren S won his game against Michael. This week's scenario will be "No More Mutants!" Having been driven mad by realising her children never exisited, Scarlet Witch has used her Hex to depower all mutants. 500 points. Any hero who get their power from being a mutant have -1 to all combat values and all there powers are outwitted.
