Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”. This is my
weekly gaming post for miniature games, non-computer RPGs and some card games.
Gaming News
First off is the Mantic news. Deadzone has started
shipping. According to friends who went to the Mantic Open day, there were two
new season four DreadBall teams. A convict team and a new dwarf team based on
the Deadzone Brokkrs Dwarfs. These join the Yndij MVP (sadly by the sound of it
there is no team) that was revealed a couple of weeks ago which I forgot to report
about it the season four (DreadBall Extreme) line-up.
Next is the HeroClix news. This week there was
previews of: Emerald Empress and Mister
Miracle from DC Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes; and Morphing Jar from
Yu-Gi-Oh Series One.
Now for the Battle Systems Sci-fi Modular Terrain.
The KickStarter ended Sunday night and the new stuff we get out of it since the
last update were: An Extra Transfer Conduit, two extra V-consoles, two extra
Cargo Crates, an extra Clone Chamber, a bunch of extra Railings, an Access
Hatch counter and four Weapon Cache counters added to the Stronghold pledge
level; a Docking Bay add-on; two new alternate skin Battle Tables; a new
alternate skin for the Turbines; a Clean Wall set Add-on pack; and an Infested
Wall set Add-on pack.
There were no public stretch goals by the end of the
KickStarter. The KickStarter made £219,973 when the original target was £21k
and go 1,653 backers. Sadly due the Kingdom Death Monster Survivor levels being
re-opened for Black Friday, I had to drop this KickStarter due to money.
Next is the Crooked Dice Games news. On December the
1st, a ton of new stuff releases came out. These were: Bolo, Repair
Drone, The Destroyer, Thuggees and Thhuggee Heads. This month's deal is that all
orders will get free stuff, the more you order the better the free stuff is.
Now for the Kingdom Death news. Due to Black Friday
I would like to re-list what they have in their web store now. There are: Dung
Beetle Knight, The Chosen (it did sell out, but it got, Experience of Death and
Pinup Great Game Hunter. Also Full Metal Planet has a huge stock of Kingdom Death stuff. Be warned, it is a Japaneses site and that you will have to e-mail them the order than going though the store. Here is a page for ordering things out side of Japan and here is the page with their Kingdom Death stuff.
Next is the Elven Adventurers Box Set KickStarter
news. A primed image of the first twenty elfs has been posted. They will start
painting them soon.
Now for the Mekton news. Due to the wait for the
artwork the deadline has been pushed back which was originally December 2013.
The PDF should hopefully be sent out on the first week of January 2014 and the
printed version if things go to plan will be shipping ever the end of January
2014 or the beginning of February 2014.
Next is the Hasslefree Miniatures news. They have
been very busy catching up order as they were away for two weeks and mow they
have hit their Christmas time promotions so they or busy again. The promotion
is 10% off all orders or a free goody bag for all orders over £50. Due to all
of this they are unable to make moulds of the Sculpting Competition, which
means they will not be able to post the greens back until next year.
Now for the Privateer Press news. The December
release schedule has been released. All of their December 2013 releases will be
coming out on the 18th, a week before Christmas. These will be: Flame Bringers Protectorate
Flameguard Light Cavalry Unit, Eiryss the Mage Hunter Commander Retribution
Epic Character Unit Attachment, Optifex Directive Convergence Unit, Perforators
Convergence Unit, Beast Mistress Legion Blighted Nyss Solo, Blighted Nyss
Legionnaires Legion Unit and the Warmachine High Command expansion set “The Big
Guns”. The likely hood I be able to get The Big Guns is low, unless there is a
game of something like Zombicide happening on the Friday and I am up to going.
Also this month’s Alternate art card for High
Command is The High Reclaimer.
Next is the Interface Zero news. A ton of changes
have been done due to proof reading like adding details on things like drones
as people were finding it hard to understand how they work. Also there is just
two more pieces of art to be finished for the main rulebook. Artwork is always
a nightmare for "ALL" pen and paper RPGs back on KickStarter. An
artist cannot be rushed.
Lastly there is the HeroQuest news. Due to problems
with KickStarter which they have explained on their site (explained much better
than I would be able to explain), they are dropping the KickStarter and will be
moving to another crowed funding site.
Past Events
On Friday Bob brought Zombicide Toxic City with
Zombie Dogs to Board games night. Me, Adrian and Ian joined in. At random I got
Amy, Ian got Doug, Bob got Josh and Adrian got Neema. We were playing the
Zombie Square mission. We ended up failing due to driving around in cars to run
over zombies, especially zombie dogs.
On Monday I went to Wargames Workshop MK as I had to
pick up some Mantic round bases off Bob who picked up a bunch for me at the
Mantic Open day. Sadly I did not have any games arranged or got a game of
DreadBall or 7TV. So I watched Rob T and Ian playing Bolt Action. Bolt Action
is a 28mm World War Two game from Warlord Games. It is not a game I would get
into as there are no robots or super powers in it. Historical games do not
interest me, but I found the way they did turns and action tokens was very
interesting. There are six types of actions a unit can make so the action
tokens are special six sided dice. You needed a dice for each unit in your
force and the dice have to be a different colour to your opponent's dice. These
dice for both sided are placed a bag and then dice are drawn one at a time to
determine who can active a unit (or deploy during deployment). A great way to
do a "I move a unit, you move a unit" turn base system.
