Sunday is the last day of the KickStarter and the last two days are normally the craziest.
With Mars Attacks news this week we got CAD images of Jaret, Shadow, Barnabus, Zeke, Corus and his Bounty Hunters from the Tiger Corps box set. Drex was not shown as he needs a little more work.
With the Deadzone news this week the PDF version of the Nexus Psi rule book is now available to everybody who backed it on KickStarter. Also they have started sorting out the missing stuff from the first shipment. It should take them four weeks to ship all the missing bits.
On future KickStarter news from Mantic. There are plans on doing two mini KickStarter after Mars Attacks and the second wave of Deadzone ships. The first will be a second Deadzone KickStarter that will add more to the current six factions and add at least a seventh faction. The other will be a Dwarf King's Horde one. Then the second Kings of War KickStarter is planned for late this year or early next year and it should be a BIG one.

Next is the HeroClix news. This week there was previews of: Kinetic Soldier from Yu-Gi-Oh Series One; and Avalanche (a long awaited remake) from Marvel X-Men Days of Future Past. Also the whole of the Marvel Captain America: Winter Soldier set and a bunch of the Marvel Avengers vs X-Men LE figures were posted up on the HCRealm's unit section.
They have revealed this week that the “Marvel Captain America: Winter Soldier” starter set will include the new 2014 rulebook. They have revealed some major changes. They will be introducing Ultra Light Object, relic rolls will no longer once per game per character and they have done some major changes to Themed Teams and ATAs. Here is a brief look at the changes to Themed Teams:

  • First of a Themed Team is now any team that has at least two figures on it and where all of the figures share a keyword.
  • Next Themed Team Probability Control (TTPC, also known as Themed Team Re-Rolls) can now only be used on NAMED keyword Themed Teams. You now also get one TTPC use per character on your force, but only up to one per each 100 points of the build total.
  • Themed teams can no longer cancel Battlefield Conditions.
  • And finally ATA’s are now only allowed to be used on Themed Teams, however the ATA you use does not have to share a keyword with the Themed Team you built.

Now for the Cool Mini or Not news. The Arcadia Quest KickStarter is still going strong. Let us look at what the main level “Guildmaster” at the end of the last post contains: the main box game which now includes eight more monster cards; the Kickstarter exclusive The Nameless Campaign box set; the Kickstarter exclusive Hero Sonja; a pack of thirty plastic gold coins; the Kickstarter exclusive Hero Montoya; a pack of twenty plastic wound counters; the Kickstarter exclusive Hero Koba; a pack of special Guild Dice; the Kickstarter exclusive hero Hitch; a pack of sixteen plastic Guild Tokens; the Kickstarter exclusive hero Viktor; a pack of twenty-four plastic Death Tokens; the Kickstarter exclusive hero Pluck; and the Kickstarter exclusive hero Morgan.

The stretch goal that were was still going as I post this was: two Kickstarter exclusive heroes of Monkey King and Monkey Queen at $550k.
A PDF copy of the main rulebook has been posted online as well as painting guide to one of the heroes. Sunday is the last day of the KickStarter and the last two days are normally the craziest.

Next is the RoboTech RPG Tactics news. We got two KickStarter updates this week. In the first update there were two new images. The first image was a mockup of the scatter template as the end product will look. It will be made out of transparent blue plastic with designs molded in, and some details painted in white. The second image was a parts broken down of a Valkyrie in Fighter mode. A whopping twenty-two parts for one figure (not including optional parts). They will take forever to build. In the Second update we got a bunch of pictures of the Spartan. One was of all the parts including the optional ones and the other pictures were of two assembled Spartans in different poses next to other things for size comparison.

Now for the Privateer Press news. Next Wednesday will see the release of the Warmachine Vengeance book, the Cygnar unit Trencher Infantry with Three Weapon Attachments, the High Command Hordes expansion pack Elemental Rage and issue 53 of the No Quarter magazine.
We also got the image of the standard version of “Goreshade the Bastard and Deathwalker” as well as an image of “Fyanna the Lash”.

Next is news on a third KickStarter I back this week that has ended. It is a computer game from Juggernaut Games called StarCrawlers. It is a sci-fi dungeon crawler. During the KickStarter they: funded the game; added Heavy Weapons and Submachine Guns to the game; added Security Camera Trap System to the game; added alternate gender portraits of all the classes to the game; added Alien Weaponry and Artifacts to the game; added Black Market Data Auction System to the game; a fifth player class, “Engineer”, was added to the game; added ISP – Interstellar Postal Service to the game; six Backer Exclusive items were added; both the Inferno and Plague Squad emery encounters were added to the game; a sixth player class, “Smuggler”, was added to the game; the CLAW machine was added to the game; a seventh player classes to be chosen by the backer will be added to the game; Deplayable Battle Buddies were added to the game; and a Backer Exclusive portrait of each of the classes to the game.
It managed to make $100,278 with 3,652 backers over the course of the KickStarter.

Here is an example of the
new artist for Mekton
Now for the Mekton news. They have hired another artist to help get the art work done.

Next is the Kingdom Death news. On Tuesday the long awaited update finally came. The game it still on track for a Q2 shipment. The pledges manager has been reopen to the original backers (meaning not for the Black Friday 2013 backs like myself sadly). In the update they showed off more of the new hard plastics and a bunch of non-spoiler pages (in fact you can read most of the text due to the size of the previews). Everything is looking great.
Also the shore was massively restock with new and old things. Now in the store are: Slender Man for $30; Pinups of Death - Hard Plastic Collection for $100 (it was on a two day $80 offer); Flower Knight for $30 (sold out in less than two days); Beyond The Wall for $27 (sold out in less than a day); White Speaker Nico for $27 (sold out in less than a day); Illuminated Lady for $25 (sold out in about two hours); Pinup Twilight Knight for $25; 54mm Twilight Knight Pinup for $40; Pinup White Speaker for $25; White Speaker for $25; Pinup Great Game Hunter for $25; 54mm Pinup Preacher for $40; The Chosen for $65 (low in stock); Dung Beetle Knight for $50; and the Experiment of Death box set for $65. The Pinups of Death - Hard Plastic Collection is a new box set that includes eight old pinups in hard plastic form with several new changes, the artwork post cards for all eight pinups, a promo settlement event and a promo gear card for Kingdom Death Monster. Here are the eight Pinups and the changes done to them:
Pinup Forsaker – She is an all new sculpt that is much closer to the original concept.
Pinup Twilight Knight – She now carries the official Twilight Order sword and has a brand-new improved cape.
Pinup Architect – No real changes, but does come with the variant parts.
Pinup White Speaker – Remastered with improved proportions.
Pinup Great Game Hunter – Remastered with a new head and a tweaked pose.
Pinup Survivor – Remastered and includes brand new variant head as well as the original head remastered.
Pinup Preacher – Remastered proportions to be closer to the concept art, new face and hair. She includes the variant parts.
Pinup Savior – Face tweaked to be closer to the original concept art. Now includes parts to turn it into the variant Sculptor Edit.
Also all of them were re-scaled to be the same scale as each other and the game pieces as there was a little scaling issues with the old resin versions. I have not picked this up yet, but I do plan to in the future if still available as I have too much money going out due to KickStarters and I need to save for Salute, but I did manage to get an Illuminated Lady before she sold out.
There is something about this game I really REALLY like and I cannot wait to get a hold of it.

Now for the Journey: Wrath of Demons news. The pledge manager will be rolling out on e-mail to all backers from the 18th. They have decided to include two more double sided map tiles in the Spider Demon expansion set.

Next is the Elven Adventurers Box Set KickStarter news. They are now getting metals back and they should be getting resin casters of all the trolls back in the next few weeks. Due to an USPS held some March orders will have to be delay into early April depending on which miniatures were ordered. This should not affect April orders as they should have everything back by then. Both the address survey and the pledge manager are now out to all backers. Due to them being busy making the figures there is no web base form to fill. There is just a price list which backers pick what they want and then the backers message a break down list to them paying any extra via PayPal. I went for Elven Rogue, Elven Sniper, Elven Swan Magus, Elven Thief, Elven Frost Queen, Elven Pilot on foot, female Kitsune and three Swans that I had to pay extra for.

Now for the Warlord Games news. All orders placed to be picked up at Salute next month will get a Beyond the Gates of Antares Boromite figure and will be entered into a prize draw to win one of each Boromite figure they have made so far. Also states for the basic Boromite team were posted.

Lastly is the Crooked Dice Games news. This week the 7ombieTV supplement “Vlad’s Army” is released in PDF and the physical book is available for a pre-order for an April release. There is an additional massive PDF of cut out and assemble buildings and scenic items by Carl Stoelzel as well, for a staggering combination of products. Plus some Vlad’s Army Cards and Tokens are available for a pre-order for an April release.

Past Events

The alternate art card that "should"
be available at the High Command
tournament next month
On Friday I went to Wargames Workshop MK for this month’s High Command tournament. The first game was a standard one on one game which I won mine. However the second game was a four way game. I sadly did not win the four way, but I did get second place, which means nothing in the league.

On Saturday I went to Simon’s with Richard to play some Zombicide. We played mission four of Prison Outbreak called “The Welder”. We all survived without taking a wound, but here was a sick comb we had that helped do it: Josh at red with Luckily, +1 to dice rolls in combat, two American Bulldogs, a German Shepherded, a Riot Shield and the Concrete Saw.

On Wednesday I received a text from Darren S saying that HeroClix will be happening this week so on Thursday I went down to York House to play some games of HeroClix. The Scenario this week was “Four is the Magic Number”. You can find it is the HeroClix Scenarios page at the top of the blog, just under the logo.
In the first round I was up against Adrian who was using an Avengers themed team. During the game Adrian’s dice rolls were terrible and mine where great. Sadly he forfeited before my Silver Centurion’s torpedo could hit. So I won that game. Also Darren S won his game against Michael.
In the second round I was up against Darren S who was using an Avenges themed team too. Like normal I lost against Darren S, but he did have to put a lot of effort into it. Sadly my Silver Centurion’s torpedo missed a very suicidal Spider-Man with 20 defence. Also Adrian won his game against his brother Michael.
In the third and final round I was up against Michael who was using an X-Men themed team. My Silver Centurion’s torpedo finally did something, it hit Colossus at full power crippling him for my character to finish off and the wipe the floor with the rest. OK, Emma Frost was a pain to kill, but I did manage to do it at the end with only losing Captain America. So I won that game. Also Darren S won his game against Adrian.
Darren S won over all this week, however I did get a solid second.
For those who are wanting to know, the other games happening at York House were Warhammer Fantasy and Flames of War. I think there might have been a couple of other games being played in other rooms.
