Welcome to another DreamClix Special. First off is the HeroClix news for the week. This week there were previews of The Joker as Sgt. from DC: The Dark Knight Rises; Bruce Banner and two versions of the Hulk from the Marvel: Avengers Movies set; and Apocalypse from the Convention prize support. This week was the last of the standard Marvel: Avengers Movie set as it was released this week, but next week's preview will be of Comic Book day Thor (might be called God of Thunder) but what will replace it the week after that. On personal news, I have ordered a case of the main Marvel: Avengers Movie set and Falcon from Captain America. I try to remember to post what I pulled ever in a post of its own, with the Neoscream's Life post or next week's HeroClix post. I also looked to see how much the Nova Corps team I designed would cost. It was about £8, if I already own the right version of a very old set and that I guessed postage right.
This weeks game was Armour Wars. 500 points, at least one figure must have the Armour keyword (Armor for the Americans) and be 100 or more points. We will be using special Armour Wars update tokens that were released in a HeroClix convention magazine years ago back when Topps owned WizKids. I went for an Avengers team using three of the four figures from the Avengers Movie HeroClix Mini Game (again, DO NOT BUY IT, get the real starter set). The team was:
The Armoured Avenger (003 Avengers Movie Starter) 200
The First Avenger (002 Avengers Movie Starter) 100
The Mighty Avenger (001 Avengers Movie Starter 140
Black Panther (106 Universe) 27
Scarlet Witch (057 Avengers) 35
=502 points and four re-rolls.
On the first round I was up against Adrian. He was using an Armour theme team who were:
Annihilus (056 Secret Invasion) 127
Doombot 5953 (107 Secret Invasion) 40
Guardsman (005 Avengers) 32
MACH-4 (042 Sinister) 100
James Rhodes (211 Armour Wars) 119
Crimson Dynamo (071 Armour Wars) 75
=493 points and four re-roll.
The Armoured Avenger's EMP Burst (The Armored Avenger can use Pulse Wave. When he does, after actions resolve each opposing character with the Armor or Robot keyword that took damage from this attack is given an action token.) failed to week as I could not at least roll a a 5 or more. However my team did white wash his team regardless of The Armoured Avenger's pure performance. On the second round I was up against Darren. He was using a Fantastic Four theme team who were:
Dr. Doom (029 Galactic Guardians) 169
Wolverine (035 Incredible Hulk) 70
Ghost Rider (037 Incredible Hulk) 125
Storm (048 Giant Size X-Men) 86
Spider-Man (001 Secret Invasion) 50
=500 points and four re-rolls.
Even tho The Armoured Avengers performance was tons better as he did a hell of a lot of damage to DOOM with the EMP Burst special. But Darren have ever like normal creamed my team. and took them all out Luckily I did KO'd his Ghost Rider. On the third and final round I was up against Michael. He was using an UNSC themed team who were:
Marine with SMG (001 Halo) 26
Spartan with Dual Magnums (009 Halo) 80
Spartan with Battle Rifle (010 Halo) 70
2x Spartan with Plasma Rifle (019 Halo) 87 x 2 = 174
Master Chief and Cortana (042 Halo) 150
=500 points and four re-rolls.
Until The Armour Avenger's took damage he was doing great as the EMP Burst hit his entire team which cause pushing damage to the two Spartans with the Armour keyword. Both the Mighty and First Avengers as well as Scarlet Witch cleaned up afterwards. I ended up white washing his whole team.
Now for a quick review of the the three figures from the Avengers Start I used. First of The First Avenger (Captain America), for 100 points he was quite a good figure and did better than expected. Next is The Mighty Avenger (Thor), I still do not know which is better him or Thor from Fast Forces Hammer of Thor. Lastly The Armoured Avenger (Iron Man, his low attack for a 200 points figure was the problem with him. Ok the Variable Powers System special (The Armored Avenger can use Perplex, but only to target himself.) helped on the first two clicks, but after that, the 9 Attack does not cut it. I would have preferred him to have the special on his third and fourth clicks instead of Range Combat Expert. I might try him out again with another Perplexer at a latter date to see if that helps.
Next week will be Soldiers and Warriors. 500 points, you can only use characters with the Soldier or Warrior keywords.
Now for this week's DreamClix section. This week I am doing rules for Support Cards and ideas for the Support Card of Clovis la Britannia from Code Geass, the Pilot Card of Largan Drace from Mobile Suit Gundam and Deep Sea Boomer from Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040. But first I have designs of Z-01 Lancelot from Code Geass, Shino Aburame from Naruto, Bug Swarm pog and Kukaku Shiba from Bleach.
Next is the rules for Support Cards. These have been on the planing board ever since the idea of doing Gundam stuff in DreamClix. Today is finally the time for one of these cards to appear. These cards represent character characters that are not on the battle field, but support or command their force from the background. They normally have one or more special ability which most are ever once a game abilities or epic actions. These cards can only be played in set themed teams and can modify the number of theme team re-rolls you have. There is three different ways this could be pointed, one flat points cost, X times every 100 points of the build total or X times half of the number of number of theme time re-rolls before any modifications.
Next is the Support Card of Clovis la Britannia from Code Geass. Clovis la Britannia is the Third Prince of the Britannian Imperial Family and the former Viceroy of Area 11 and son of Gabrielle la Britannia. He's also Lelouch vi Britannia's older half-brother. Before Lelouch and Nunnally were exiled to Japan, Clovis had a relatively good relationship with Lelouch's family and always took the time to visit Lelouch and play chess with him. Although he lost time after time, Clovis was not discouraged and viewed Lelouch as a rival in chess. Clovis enjoys art and his sister, Euphemia, notes that he is a talented painter. Clovis eventually went to Area 11 to become its viceroy being told that Lelouch and Nunnally had died there, unaware of his lost siblings position as political hostages and remained alive but in hiding. He is timid by nature, but he has narcissistic attitude and disdain of the Elevens (displayed by his not hesitating in ordering the complete eradication of the Shinjuku Ghetto, despite the presence of hundreds of civilians inside) gives Lelouch an opportunity to start throwing the Britannian Imperial Family, as well as the Empire of Britannia itself, into turmoil. He should only be played in Britannia theme teams, he does not modify the theme team re-rolls, no other requirements and he should only have one special called "Leave No One Standing".
Leave No One Standing: At the end of your turn, if at least one of your opponent's characters are KO'd during you turn, remove one action token from one of your characters.
The next Code Geass idea should be a APC.
Next is the Pilot Card of Largan Drace from Mobile Suit Gundam. In the year AG 115, Largan Drace is a mobile suit pilot formerly stationed at the Arinston base on Nora. When the UE attacked the colony, Flit Asuno was willing to let Largan pilot the Gundam AGE-1 but Vargas Dyson would not allow him to risk his safety piloting a new mobile suit. After seeing the situation getting worse Largan instead pilots the RGE-B790 Genoace. While awaiting for the hanger's gate to fully open a Gafran on the other side surprise attacks the Genoace. The attack knocks Genoace down but Largan manages to return fire for the gate can close once again. He is then rescued by the Earth Federation soldiers and sustain minimum injuries. After the destruction of the colony Nora, Largan remains on board with the Diva-class. At space colony Fardain, after both sides, Zalam and Euba, entered a temporary alliance Flit leaves them to protect a truck carrying his friends from a Baqto. The Gundam AGE-1 proves no match against the Baqto, but luckily Largan arrives just in time to stall it for Flit can go receive the Titus wear configuration. Largan charges the Baqto with a heat stick, however it was deflected and the Genoace was subdued. The Baqto charges its beam spikes to deliver the final attack on Largan, but Flit in Gundam AGE-1 Titus saves Largan and destroys the Baqto. After thwarting the UE attack on Fardain, the Diva proceeds to the Minsry colony. Once having the additional forces and an attack plan the crew proceeds to the EU stronghold. His requirement should be the Earth Federation Force keyword. He should have the Earth Federation Force team ability. His special should give him Super Senses due to luck than sixth sense. His Mecha ability should be a +1 to the Defence value if he is in a RGE-B790. The next Mobile Suit Gundam AGE idea should be a generic Pilot Card for the Earth Federation Forces Pilot.
Next is the Deep Sea Boomer from Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040. To test new Boomers technology for boomers to work in deep space, Genom used them in deep sea mission. One of these boomers when out of control with a humans thoughts trapped in side it. It should have Super Strength, Close Combat Expert, Impervious and Invulnerability. It should have about seven click of health and starting combat values of Speed 6, Attack 10, Defence 19, Damage 3 and Range 4 with one target. It should not have a team ability and its keywords should be Brute and Robot. The next Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 idea should be AD Police K-Suit.
Lastly is the DreamClix Dial Designs page update news. On Sunday there was an update to the DreamClix Dial Designs page, which was the third of four CosmicBreak updates. There was nothing new in this update. There was another update on Thursday, which was the final part of the CosmicBreak updates. All four of the new dial designs are show below. If you have been checking the updates to CosmicBreak, you may have noticed that I have dropped the Moe keyword. I felt this was a wast as all the Moes had the Robot keyword. I also replaced the Chibi keyword with the Kid one as it felt more fitting. There should be an update on Sunday which will be the first of two Cosplay Deviants updates.
Well that is it for this week. Until next time, Mecha Up.
