MK HeroClix House Rules

MK HeroClix, the 28th of June, Dark of the Moon

An Evil Life-Model Decoy (a clone for those who do
not know) of Nick Fury.
Welcome to another MK HeroClix post. First off is the HeroClix news for the week. This week there were previews of Nitro, Max Fury and Shadow Council Soldier from Marvel Chaos Wars; Grandmaster from the Marvel Infinity Gauntlet prizes and Wonder Woman from DC Justice League 52. On personal news I have preordered a brick of Marvel Chaos Wars from 13th Floor.

This week's game was Dark of the Moon, keeping to the Transformers theme. 600 point, four actions, at least one character has to have a cosmic link (even if it is just in the name) and no ATA's. I decided to go for a Guardians of the Galaxy team who were:

Drax (011 Marvel Galactic Guardians) 121
Hollywood (013 Marvel Galactic Guardians) 138 + Protected (Feat) 8 = 146
Groot (049 Marvel Web of Spider-Man) 152
Yondu (048 Marvel Avengers) 53
One Who Knows (203 Supernova) 123
=595 points and four re-rolls.

I borrowed Darren's Groot for this team as I do not own him. On the first round I was up against Darren. He was using a Negative Zone theme team who were:

4x Annihilation Seeker (005 Marvel Galactic Guardians) 70 x 4 = 280
Ravenous (018 Marvel Galactic Guardians) 160
Blastaar (023 Marvel Galactic Guardians) 158
=598 points and four re-roll.

My dice rolls where shockingly terrorable in this game. I manage to KO an Annihilation Seeker, but Darren destroied my whole team. Adrian won his game against his brother Michael. On the second round I was up against Michael.  He was using a Detective theme team who were:

The Question (004 DC Arkham Asylum) 37
The Riddle (011 DC Arkham Asylum) 90
Crispus Allen (101 DC Arkham Asylum)) 197
Robin (013 DC Crisis) 79
Nightwing (057 DC Crisis) 125
Sandmen (086 DC Origins) 59
=587 points and two re-roll.

Crispus Allen was a pain with his special Outwit power and keeping on making his Impervious rolls. The tables was about to turn when time was called, as I had KO'd Crispus Allen finally. However Michael won the game by 27 victory points. Adrian won his game against Darren. On the third and final round I was up against Adrian. He was using a Martial Artist themed team who were:

Daredevil (021 Marvel Incredible Hulk) 75
Psylocke (023 Marvel Giant Size X-Men) 74
Nightcrawler (047 Marvel Web of Spider-Man) 86
Howard the Duck (035 Marvel Secret Invasion) 35
Elektra (048 human Marvel Secret Invasion) 80
Gamora (054 Marvel Secret Invasion) 73
Captain America (040 Hammer of Thor) 72
Moondragon (087 Marvel Clobberin Time) 71
Black Panther (106 Marvel Universe) 27
=593 points and two re-rolls.

This was a super cheesy team with both the broken Nightcrawer who keep on rolling eights to hit, and broken smokey boots Captain America. I ended up losing this game and Darren has banned him from borrowing his Nightcrawler. Darren won his game against Michael. So with three wins the cheesy Adrian won first place this week a I got last place.

Next week should be Rise of the Machines (following a robotic film theme). 500 points, at least one character on your team must have the Robot keyword.

Now for this week's DreamClix section. This week I am doing ideas for robot mode and jet mode for Starscream from Transformers G1; Franken Stein from Soul Eater and The Red Comet from Mobile Suit Gundam. But first I have designs of Mario Mario from the Mario games, Super Mario Bros team ability, Fuchikoma from Ghost in the Shell, and Swordom from CosmicBreak.

Next is the legendary schemer and back stabber of Transformers and everybody's favourite Decepticon, Starscream. Due to his treachery and personality, Starscream has had many future characters within the franchise to bear his name, most of which share his desire to become leader of the Decepticons. Starscream has, at some points, had control over the Decepticons, but his actions usually lead him to being defeated, or overruled by the more powerful Megatron. Starscream makes no secret of his ambition to overthrow Megatron as leader of the Decepticons. He is more intelligent than the average Decepticon, ruthless and cruel, but he is also unlikely to directly act on his ultimate ambition without assurance of conditions favourable to his ascension. He considers himself vastly superior to other Decepticons, and looks down on Megatron for being antiquated in his military strategies and tactics. Starscream believes that the Decepticons should rely more on guile and speed rather than brute destructive force to defeat the Autobots, although when he is given the chance to strike out on his own, he is often less successful than Megatron. Megatron frequently overlooks the potential threat that Starscream represents, though it is occasionally suggested that Megatron tolerates his presence for various reasons, such as a grudging respect for his scheming nature, or a mere safety precaution to keep an eye on him. However, Starscream often exhausts Megatron's patience quickly; violent-yet-brief verbal and/or physical conflicts are not uncommon between the two. Starscream transforms into a McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle and serves as the Decepticon Air Commander, leading the other Decepticon Seeker jets, many of whom share his physical design. According to his technical specifications, he can reach speeds up to Mach 2.8, and can climb up to sub-orbital altitudes of 52 miles (84 km) and nose-dive down to ground level in minutes (the real aircraft has a top speed of Mach 2.5 with an altitude ceiling of 65,000 feet (19,800 m), or 12.3 miles). His arm is mounted with launchers (mounted under his wings in jet mode), which can launch two types of weaponry—cluster bombs, each of which can level an area 10,000 square feet (900 m2), and his signature weapon, the null ray, which can disrupt the flow of electricity in any circuitry it hits for brief periods, effectively rendering any electronic device or machine (including Transformers) temporarily inoperable. First lets do his robot form. In this form he should have two Traits called "Backstab" and "Transform(Starscream)", the Giant symbol, Incapacitate, Energy Explosion, Leadership, Invulnerability, Toughness and Willpower.
Backstab: Give Starscream a power action. Deal one click of damage to an adjacent friend called Megatron. Both Megatron and Starscream gain a Backstabbed token. If Starscream has a Backstabbed token, he can use Perplex twice a turn. If Starscream is delt damage by a character called Megatron or Galvatron, remove all Backstabbed tokens from Starscream.
The Transform ability is basically Morph with a different name to suit the figures. He should have about seven clicks of health and starting combat values of Speed 8, Attack 11, Defence 17, Damage 3 and Range 6 with two targets. He should have the Decepticon team ability and the keywords Decepticons, Seekers and Robot.

Next is Starscream's Jet mode. In this mode he should have the trait "Transform(Starscream)", the Giant symbol, the Flight symbol, Energy Explosion, Energy Shield Deflection, Hypersonic and Running Shot. He should have about seven clicks of health and starting combat values of Speed 14, Attack 10, Defence 18, Damage 3 and Range 7 with three targets. He should have the Decepticon team ability and the keywords Decepticons, Seekers and Vehicle. The next Transformers G1 idea should be the Autobot Jazz.

Next is Franken Stein from Soul Eater. Doctor Franken Stein is the man that changed Sid into a zombie. He is based on the central characters from Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein, an amalgamation of the mad scientist and Frankenstein's monster itself. He currently is considered the strongest meister to ever graduate from Shibusen. Being a man of science, Dr. Stein sees everything in the world, including himself, as an experiment. This is the personality that he had as a child, as he often wanted to dissect the people around him. He was often stopped by Spirit. This personality trait made all those around him afraid of him. This strange hobby of wanting to dissect anything he thinks is interesting was still present, even when Stein became an adult, and once as part of a lesson, tried to have his class dissect an endangered animal, claiming that it would be bad if he did not find out anything from it before it became extinct. Stitching across his face suggests that he had worked on himself at one point. He also exhibits a sadistic and intimidating personality. During his battle against Maka and Black Star, he grabbed Maka by one of her pigtails, lifted her shirt up and drew marks on her body, to signify where he would put the knife through, and ponders if he should turn her skin into sand paper. When Black Star tried to attack him, he countered by knocking Black Star out in a seemingly painful and bloody manner. His smiles are normally filled with sadistic intentions. Stein seems to have dormant madness. He has even admitted that he is especially sensitive to it. Stein ultimately did go insane and struggled to maintain it. He even quit smoking as a way to convince himself. Emotionally, Nygus has described him as always alone and that he has no love in him. He has admitted that he can't understand Spirit's reaction to Maka asking him to go out shopping. This shows he can't feel deep emotions other than the need to dissect whatever interests or irritates him. This tendency likely seems to be more destructive or psychotic, which explains his dormant madness. He is depicted as morally bankrupt, at least back in his youth. In Sid's flashback, he questioned Sid's decision to adopt Black Star, who was a baby. This suggests that if it were Stein's decision, he would have left Black Star. His immorality is supported further by his repeated experiments on Spirit back when they were kids. Despite this cruel and twisted personality, Stein does have a kind and compassionate side that worries for his friends and students and he feels the need to protect them. He also exhibits a rather paternal demeanor towards his students. He also expresses deep disgust and moral outrage towards Medusa for stating that she would abandon her own child, Crona, when he/she would become useless to her. It is never stated when this other personality arose. He should have a special called "Multiple Combatants", Flurry, Outwit, Exploit Weakness and Combat Reflexes.
Multiple Combatants: After making an attack action, Franken Stein can use Force Blast as a free action.
He should have about six or seven clicks of health and starting combat values of Speed 8, Attack 10, Defence 18, Damage 2 and Range 0. He should have the DWMA team ability and the keywords Scientist, Meister and DWMA. The next Soul Eater idea should be Stein with Scythe.

Next is The Red Comet from the original Mobile Suit Gundam. I might move this to chase or LE at a later date. The Red Comet is Chan's nickname and this figure represents Char in his customed Char red Zaku II. It should have a trait called "Zeon's Ace Pilot", Hypersonic, Running Shot, Charge, Blades, Energy Explosion, a special called "Char Red Paint Job", Toughness, Super Senses and Leadership.
Zeon's Ace Pilot: This character is treated as if it is called Char Aznable.
Char Red Paint Job: The Red Comet can use Toughness and Super Senses.
It should have about five clicks of health and starting combat values of Speed 12, Attack 11, Defence 17, Damage 3 and Range 6 with two targets. It should have the Zeon team ability and its keywords should be Zeon and New Type. The next Mobile Suit Gundam UC idea should be Standard Tank Bystander Token.

Lastly is the DreamClix Dial Designs page update news. On Sunday and Thursday I updated the Marvel Anime section of the DreamClix Dial Designs page. There should be at least an update to the page on Sunday. In this update will be add Mobile Suit Gundam 00 to the page.

Well that is it for this week. Until next time, Mecha Up.
