Neoscream's Life: 20th to 26th Janurary 2014

RGM-86R GMIII
Welcome to the Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of some of the things I have done during last week (OK I have been forgetting to alter this bit) and news on the great Geek Goddess, AJ Lee.

“Life”

I sat the last two chapter Exams in the course on Thursday. I got 97.8% on both of them, which is just one question wrong in each. In the "Security" exam, the mistake was due to second guessing myself and over reading the question. In the "Advanced Trouble Shooting" exam, the mistake was due to me forgetting it was a Windows XP question than a Vista or 7 one. Next week we should be having a mock exam and re doing any chapter exams we need or want to do. I will be going for chapter one as I only got 69.8% in it. But as my average is currently about 89%, I am not too worried about retaking the other chapters.

With the computer build, for some unknown Dabs.com shipped the wireless card on its own on Friday morning the previous week and did not arrive until Thursday, while it was 1 to 3 working days delivery (so a day later than it should have been). Where as the graphics card was sent on Wednesday from ILGS, and arrive the next day while it was meant to be seven working days. The rest of the stuff from Dabs.com arrived on Saturday. When I got the remaining bits off Darren H on Sunday after lunch, I started building my computer. I had a nightmare time with the special processor fan I brought ages ago, so I decided to go with the one that came with the processor which fitted in perfectly. Other than a hidden power cable the physical build went well. However there were problems with installing Windows 8.1. After about three or four hours I found that Windows 8.1 had problem installing due to the wireless network card. Without it Windows 8.1 installed fine. I real be trying the card again later now that Windows was installed, however as it was about 9:30PM when I finally installed Windows 8.1. I decided to leave it for another day.

I have decided not to post blog posts on the new computer yet as I what to save that memorable moment for the 1,000 post.

“AJ Lee (and WWE)”

On Raw AJ was celebrating her record breaking title run with a party, but the only people that turned up for it we saw were AJ, Tamina Snuka, Bad News Barrett to deliver some bad news and Josh Matthews to interview AJ. Josh upset AJ and AJ went to hit him with a cake, but the worm dodges her and she ended up hitting Tamina. Later AJ was in tag team was her cake covered body guard Tamina. They were up against the Funkadactyls again, but sadly AJ was a little over confident and lost the match this time.

Even tho he unset poor AJ, I am liking Wade Barrett's
new #BadNewsBarrett style
AJ Lee was on Smackdown in a non-title match against Cameron and won. After the match Naomi attacked poor AJ. She even stupidly tried pinning AJ. Someone needs to lock-up Funkadactyls.

Just to remind people, the Royal Rumble write up will be in next week’s post.

Gaming with Neoscream: 24th January 2014

New Federated Security Troopers from Crooked Dice Games
Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”. This is my weekly gaming post for miniature games, non-computer RPGs and some card games.

Gaming News

First off is the Mantic news. They will by releasing a couple of apps in the future. The first will be a store that will have digital versions of all of their rulebooks and the second will be a digital guide and aid to DreadBall.
Also they will be added Faction add-on packs for Deadzone soon.

Next is the HeroClix news. This week there was previews of: Two versions of Cheetah from DC Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes; Time Wizard from Yu-Gi-Oh Series One; and Angel from Marvel X-Men Days of Future Past.

The Quel-Regult Scout Battlepod
Now for the Crooked Dice Games news. A painted image of four new Federated Security Troopers including a groovy new Heavy trooper was posted on their forums. These figures will be coming out in February.
Several prices have changed. These are: FedSec Robot is now £5; the FedSec deal with the robot has gone down £1 to £14; the Failed Experiment deal is reduced by £1 to £7.50; Talos has gone up by £2 to £10; the Talos and Argo deal is now £12; and Argonauts are now £6.50 (up 50p) and £12 for two (up £2).
The next 7ombie TV supplement called Vlad’s Army is currently being layout so it should be out soon. The first starter set should a redesign of the Minions set and the next one should a SHIVA set.

Next is the RoboTech RPG Tactics news. Images of the master for the Quel-Regult Scout Battlepod figure has be posted in the Updates on the KickStarter.

Now for the Kingdom Death news. Last week there was meant to be a major update for the KickStarter, but due to waiting for some plastic figures to arrive it was pushed back. It should happen later today, so keep an eye on their web store for new stuff that can sell out in hours.
I forgot to say last week that there was only a post in the comments say that Slender Man currently too hard so it needs to be down grade a bit and they solo play is being tested and is currently going well.

Next is the Privateer Press news. We finally get an image of the final Convergence Warcaster “Father Lucant, Divinity Architect”. He looks great but might be a nightmare to put together.
Also I have learnt that should be some wrecked Vector tokens coming out next week. Now there is nothing on Privateer Press main page for them so these could be a third party thing. I might pick up a pack of these at a later date. To go with the one's I have made (two more will appear on the "Painting and Converting" section in the future, after the army of Zombies).

Lastly there is the Beyond the Gates of Antares news. A year ago it was a KickStarter that sadly got pulled. Back then there was not much to the game apart from ideas. Some concept art and a couple of sculpts only appeared towards the end of. It was cancelled on KickStarter due to the fact I was not making the money they wanted. I would personally say the main problem they had was that there were too little for backers to see and the main goal was far too high. It was £300,000 while most KickStarter funded games had a starting goal of $50,000 (at max based on the ones I backed).
Then earlier this month people were taking about a new Sci-Fi game coming out from Warlord Games that uses the Bolt action system. I did not link the name until I decided to look it up. The game was still going and is currently being play tested. Only a hand full of figures has been revealed so far, but Warlord Games have said that they will be revealing more over the coming month.

As you may be able to tell, I will be added this game to the list I will be talking about. It might even change to a Warlord Games news section than just Beyond the Gates of Antares.

Past Events

On Friday there was this month’s High Command tournament. Sadly only five people turned up. I ended up winning it just. I received the alternate art card of “High Exemplar Kreoss” and a second copy of “Grayle the Farstrider”.

On Sunday I went with Rob to a DreadBall tournament in Norwich. It was nearly a two and half hours journey, but was a lot of fun. I went for my standard team of Robots, luckily I did not go with Teratons as there were already two teams of them. I won my first three games with one of them being a land slide but sadly I lost the last two. Sadly I did not get into the top three, but I did get the most four pointers winning me a metal Teraton Jack and I also won a second Coach Renton as a spot prize.

Due to the tournament and both me and Rob having other thinks to do we cancelled the full rules Deadzone games we were planning for Monday.

Neoscream's Life: 13th to 19th Janurary 2014

FA-010S Full Armour ZZ Gundam
Welcome to the Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of some of the things I have done during the New Year’s week and news on the great Geek Goddess, AJ Lee.

“Life”

On Monday night we finished earlier than normal with gaming at Wargames Workshop MK. I decided to catch a bus to the city centre and then get a taxi or bus home to save money as it would cost me £8 to get a taxi while it would be about £3.50 from the city if I do not get there in time for a bus as I had a prepaid bus pass. I looked at the time table of buses heading TO the city centre and the first bus was the number 300 at 9:37PM. However the bus was NOT heading to the city centre, well only after the return journey. I did double check and I did look at the right time table, it just had a massive error. I did not get home until 10:45PM. With a 8AM start and last week's "Neoscream's Life" post to post in the morning I was not too pleased.

In the Printers chapter exam I had this week I got 90.9%. Only two questions wrong. Next week I should have both the Security and Advanced Trouble Shooting chapter exams. A double so a lot to study. When I got home I decided to retry ordering the computer parts I wanted, and this time it worked. However they have only sent me the wireless network card so far.

Sunday was a long day as I went to Norwich for a DreadBall tournament. The results of it will be in the next "Gaming with Neoscream" post. Sadly during the tournament which was my only day off work, I got a couple of phone calls for work. The first being that they wanted me to come in to clean the shake machine, which I could not. The second was helping a manage of another store (who use to work for our store) wanted help on program a voucher onto his tills. Facepalm.

“AJ Lee (and WWE)

AJ was back on Raw. She was in tag team was her body guard Tamina Snuka. They were up against the Funkadactyls and won. Naomi was a sore losses and attacked AJ and Tamina after the match (OK they were beating the crap out of Cameron.

AJ was supporting Tamina in her match on Smackdown against Naomi. Cameron attacked poor AJ at ringside and Tamina sadly lost the match.
Big E Langston also had a match on Smackdown. It was another match against Fang Dim Bat (Fandango) and Big E won with the Big Ending.

AJ has now beaten the longest single Diva's Champion record now. Cementing her place as the BEST Diva ever on the WWE in the current setting. However, sadly she is not the longest Female single reign female champion as there is still the Woman's Champion record to beat. Stilling a page from her boyfriends book, meaning we are only looking at modern era holds (so we are ignoring The Fabulous Moolah at 10,170 and Rockin' Robin at 451), AJ needs to bet Trish Stratus title reign of 448 day.

Lastly as the Royal Rumble is this coming Sunday let us talk a bit about it. So far there are only three conformed matches. These are: The WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton verses John Cena; Big Show verses Brock Lesnar; and the 30-Superstar Royal Rumble Match. I will be cheering for Cena to win his match like always, and I would like to see Big Show KO punch both Lesnar’s and Paul Heyman’s lights out. Only seventeen superstars have been conformed to be in the Royal Rumble. These are:

·         Batista
·         Alberto Del Rio
·         Big E Langston
·         The Miz
·         R-Truth
·         Xavier Woods
·         Kofi Kingston
·         Cody Rhodes
·         Goldust
·         Rey Mysterio
·         CM Punk
·         Fandango
·         Bad News Barrett
·         Roman Reigns
·         Seth Rollins
·         Dean Ambrose

There had been a match that was rumoured to happen since before TLC, AJ Lee verses Tamina Snuka. There has not been any sign of them falling out so I do not think it will happen any time soon. As it was a rumour and possible spoiler for TLC and the TV shows, I never reported it when I original heard about it. Oh and the rumour also said that Tamina would win. Odd, AJ has an undefeated strike against Tamina in one on one matches. Remember I will not be talking about the Royal Rumble in next week's post, it will be in the week after's post.

Gaming with Neoscream: 17th January 2014

Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”. This is my weekly gaming post for miniature games, non-computer RPGs and some card games.

Gaming News

First off is the Mantic news. I learnt after posting last week’s post that all orders of DreadBall Kick-Off from their store during January will receive DreadBall Kick-Off Extra Time for free.
This week on their blog (link to their website is in the links list on the right) they have been revealing more about the DreadBall Galactic Tour Series: Azure Forest pack.

Next is the HeroClix news. This week there was previews of: Toyman, the Airplane toy, the Race Car toy, the Cymbal-Banging Monkey toy and the Teddy Bear toy from DC Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes; Firewing Pegasus from Yu-Gi-Oh Series One; and Alpha Class Sentinel in both modes and the Bystander Tokens that come with it from Marvel X-Men Days of Future Past.

Now for the Privateer Press news. Next Wednesday will see the release of the Cryx Bane Thralls unit, the Retribution Houseguard Riflemen unit, the Retribution Houseguard Thane solo, the Convergence Eradicators unit and the Hordes High Command expansion set “Savage Guardians”.

Next is the Zombicide news. There is a new mission on their website called Zombie Musical.

Now for the Journey: Wrath of Demons news. They have sent off masters for five of the miniatures and hope to have the plastic miniatures of them by the end of February.

Next is the Shadows of Brimstone KickStarter news. They showed off a ton of artwork this week and the 3D designs of the Harbinger.

Now for the Crooked Dice Games news. They have finish sculpting four new Beat and two SHIVA models. Sadly there are no pictures of them yet. These should be out on the 1st of March.
Until the end of January there it a 25% off sale on all miniatures (not including new releases) on their web store.

Lastly there is the Elven Adventurers Box Set KickStarter news. We have images of the green for the Troll 'Zerker.

Past Events

On Monday I had a couple of games of DreadBall with Rob. We were trying to get rid of any rush we had with the game as never of us had played since the tournament ran by Guardians of Tyr at Wargames Workshop MK back in November last year. We both tried out Season three teams. I had Teratons while Rob was using Zees. I won the first game and Rob won the second. Bob and Ian also had a game, Judwan verses Corporations and it showed that the change to the Judwan to down power them has made them not that good. Maybe lowering their cost to fit an extra player would help re-balance them.

Painting and Converting

This week makes the start of a re-work Painting order. So this week I have doing Miss Spider for my 7TV Hive team (I might also use her as AJ Lee’s current bodyguard Tamina Snuka in my CWC team), a Reb Commander, a Reb Teraton, two Reb Soraks and a Reb Yndij.

I have changer the bases for the Reb Commander and the Reb Teraton. I will try to post updated pictures of them at a later date. Next week should be doing a bunch more Rebs for Deadzone and some Loka figures as well.

Until next time, Keep Rolling. Only five more posts until post 1,000.
