New Federated Security Troopers from Crooked Dice Games |
Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”. This is my
weekly gaming post for miniature games, non-computer RPGs and some card games.
Gaming News
First off is the Mantic news. They will by releasing
a couple of apps in the future. The first will be a store that will have
digital versions of all of their rulebooks and the second will be a digital
guide and aid to DreadBall.
Also they will be added Faction add-on packs for
Deadzone soon.
Next is the HeroClix news. This week there was
previews of: Two versions of Cheetah from DC Superman and the Legion of
Super-Heroes; Time Wizard from Yu-Gi-Oh Series One; and Angel from Marvel X-Men
Days of Future Past.
The Quel-Regult Scout Battlepod |
Now for the Crooked Dice Games news. A painted image
of four new Federated Security Troopers including a groovy new Heavy trooper
was posted on their forums. These figures will be coming out in February.
Several prices have changed. These are: FedSec Robot
is now £5; the FedSec deal with the robot has gone down £1 to £14; the Failed
Experiment deal is reduced by £1 to £7.50; Talos has gone up by £2 to £10; the
Talos and Argo deal is now £12; and Argonauts are now £6.50 (up 50p) and £12 for
two (up £2).
The next 7ombie TV supplement called Vlad’s Army is
currently being layout so it should be out soon. The first starter set should a
redesign of the Minions set and the next one should a SHIVA set.
Next is the RoboTech RPG Tactics news. Images of the
master for the Quel-Regult Scout Battlepod figure has be posted in the Updates
on the KickStarter.
Now for the Kingdom Death news. Last week there was
meant to be a major update for the KickStarter, but due to waiting for some
plastic figures to arrive it was pushed back. It should happen later today, so
keep an eye on their web store for new stuff that can sell out in hours.
I forgot to say last week that there was only a post
in the comments say that Slender Man currently too hard so it needs to be down
grade a bit and they solo play is being tested and is currently going well.
Next is the Privateer Press news. We finally get an
image of the final Convergence Warcaster “Father Lucant, Divinity Architect”.
He looks great but might be a nightmare to put together.
Also I have learnt that should be some wrecked
Vector tokens coming out next week. Now there is nothing on Privateer Press
main page for them so these could be a third party thing. I might pick up a
pack of these at a later date. To go with the one's I have made (two more will
appear on the "Painting and Converting" section in the future, after
the army of Zombies).
Lastly there is the Beyond the Gates of Antares
news. A year ago it was a KickStarter that sadly got pulled. Back then there
was not much to the game apart from ideas. Some concept art and a couple of sculpts
only appeared towards the end of. It was cancelled on KickStarter due to the
fact I was not making the money they wanted. I would personally say the main
problem they had was that there were too little for backers to see and the main
goal was far too high. It was £300,000 while most KickStarter funded games had
a starting goal of $50,000 (at max based on the ones I backed).
Then earlier this month people were taking about a new
Sci-Fi game coming out from Warlord Games that uses the Bolt action system. I
did not link the name until I decided to look it up. The game was still going and
is currently being play tested. Only a hand full of figures has been revealed
so far, but Warlord Games have said that they will be revealing more over the coming
month.
As you may be able to tell, I will be added this
game to the list I will be talking about. It might even change to a Warlord
Games news section than just Beyond the Gates of Antares.
Past Events
On Friday there was this month’s High Command
tournament. Sadly only five people turned up. I ended up winning it just. I
received the alternate art card of “High Exemplar Kreoss” and a second copy of
“Grayle the Farstrider”.
On Sunday I went with Rob to a DreadBall tournament
in Norwich. It was nearly a two and half hours journey, but was a lot of fun. I
went for my standard team of Robots, luckily I did not go with Teratons as
there were already two teams of them. I won my first three games with one of
them being a land slide but sadly I lost the last two. Sadly I did not get into
the top three, but I did get the most four pointers winning me a metal Teraton
Jack and I also won a second Coach Renton as a spot prize.
Due to the tournament and both me and Rob having
other thinks to do we cancelled the full rules Deadzone games we were planning
for Monday.
