HeroClix, the 4th of August, The Clix O'clock News

Welcome to another HeroClix post. With the news there was previews of Magog and Silver Banshee. from the next DC set, Superman. Mangog has very good attack values for a figure under 100 point but his highest defense value is bad. However with the share defense ability from his TA will help him. Silver Banshee is quite good too. I have also found the dials and abilities of the for seven out of ten of the Gears of War figures and all of the Street Fighter figures. The Gears of War characters were Locust Drone, Mauler, Kantus, General RAAM, Skorge, Anya Stroud and Dominic Santiago. (the link might include the other three so if they are not there already as you are reading this) Anya's dial looks really great and is making me think out Soldier teams. Lets see, her, Winter Soldier and Easy Company grunts. I had a bit of a look at the dials, they are ok, Akuma is really nasty with his double Flurry with a move in between. The Block trait which several of them have is good, might use it for an alternate version of Zoro from One Piece. Also sadly there is no Sakura and Ibuki in the set too. I might get the starter set. Hang on, missing characters, this could lead to a new DreamClix series, the missing Street Fighters.

The TAs from both sets can not be copy which does down grade them, however they are a bit powerful. I might do it to the Naruto TA. Oh and several images from Gencon has came up. The first one (to the left) is of the Marvel Infinity Gauntlet set with four of the figures, a colossal size Thanos and three of standard size characters. By the look of things this set will be heavy on cosmic characters. The set will be out in January 2012. Next one is of a large set of Lord of the Rings figures. They seem nice looking. Need to see who else they are doing and dials before deciding to get any no not. however I most likely get Gandalf for a Sorcerer Supreme team with Doctor Strange and Doctor Fate. Last one is of several figures from the Superman set. It has Silver Banshee (been preview), Supergirl, Darkseid and three others.

This week was the first week of Déjà vu. The figure I picked for the Déjà vu event was the Black Widow from the main Captain America set. She has a lot of useful keywords like Avengers, SHIELD, Marvel Knights and Thunderbolts. This week is the 300 points game. I went for a SHIELD team who were:

This week there is no Adam, it looks like he has quit earlier than planned as he was going to University this is. May be he has a summer time job. Well anyway as there was only the four of us, there was only three rounds. On the first round I was up against Darren. His chosen figure was Luke Cage from Captain America and he used an Avengers team this week who were:

His Captai America creamed my team. It did not help that I choose a bad map for me. I lost that game. On the second round I was up against Michael. His chosen figure was the human Elektra from Secret Invasion and he used a Martial Artist team who were:

This game was a bit closer but Gamora's high defense tying up my attacks and Elektra's movement special that gives her a hundred and one abilities pushed the game to his favour. He won but with only Elektra left on the field. On the last round I was up against Adrian. His chosen character was Lyssa Drak from Arkham Asylum and he used a non themed DC team who were:

The was a white wash. On a map with all most no hindering terrain to hide in Stealth with was useless. If it was not for the double Outwit outwiting my Range Combat Expert, I would have won the game much faster. Over all this week one win and two losses. Hope I will win more games next week. However Darren has worked out what Theme I will be using sadly.

Next week will be the second week of Déjà vu, meaning I must have Black Widow on the team but nothing else from this week. It will be 400 points.

For this week's DreamClix I will be doing dial ideas for the Mandurugo genetic and Matthes from the Blade anime; Blair from Soul Eater; Kaya from One Piece and Tessai Tsukabishi from Bleach. But first we have the dial designs for Marsh and Neuron from the X-Men anime; Mecha Jetter Girl from CosmicBreak; Chifuyu Orimura from IS: Infinite Stratos and Shikamaru Nara from Naruto.

Now we have the Mandurugo genetic from the Blade anime. The Mandurugo are a vampire tribe from the Philippines. They have a harpy like look in they full vampire from. They should have the Flight symbol, Charge, a special ability like Nightcrawer's Teleportation Evacuation called "Capture Pray", Blades, the "Hunger" trait and the minion power called "Philippine Vampire".
Capture Pray: This character can use Hypersonic Sound. When they use it, a target hit by a close Combat attack may be placed adjacent to them after the power action resolves.
Hunger: When this character makes a close Combat attack against a character that are not on their starting click, they gain a +1 to their damage value.
Philippine Vampire: If this character is within eight squares of a friendly character called Matthes, Mandurugo gains a +2 to Movement.
They should have about five clicks of health and starting values of Movement 10, Attack 9, Defense 17, Damage 2 and Range 0. They should not have a TA and their keywords should be Monster and Existence.

Next is Matthes from the Blade anime. She is the leader of the Mandurugo vampires. She should have the specials "Capture Pray" and "Queen of the Philippine", the "Hunger" trait, the Flight symbol, Leadership and Blades.
Queen of the Philippine: Matthes gains a +1 to her Defense value for each character called Mandurugo adjustment to her.
She should have about six clicks of health and starting values of Movement 14, Attack 10, Defense 17, Damage 2 and Range 0. She should not have a TA and their keywords should be Monster, Ruler and Existence.

Next is Blair from Soul Eater, not Blaire from MFC. Blair is a cat with strong magical powers. Maka and Soul believed she was a witch at first, but realised their miss take after Soul eat Blair's soul. She decided to live with them and work at Chupa Cabra's. All her spells app She should have the Flight symbol, Nullifieda special called "Smashing Pumpkin" and Shape Change.
Smashing Pumpkin: Blair can use Energy Explosion. Characters with the Duo ability that are hit by this take 2 damage instead of one and after the attack the Duo ability is outwitted.
She should have five clicks of health and starting values of Movement 10, Attack 9, Defense 17, Damage 2 and Range 6 with one target. Her TA should be the Soul Eater one and her keywords should be Animal and Mystical.

Next is Kaya from One Piece. Kaya is a rich young girl who lives in the largest mansion of Syrup Village on Gecko Islands. She seemed quite sickly at first, but it turned out that she was just worrying herself into sickness. This was no helped by Kuro interference. Usopp use to sneak into the mansion's grounds and tell Kaya stories of his adventures (that were lies) though the window of her room. This helped cheer her up, which made her feel better to Kuro's dislike. After Kuro's plans of gaining Kaya's wealth was ruined by the Strew Hat craw and Usopp. Kaya and her servant Mary gave them Mary's ship, the Going Mary and Kaya started to study to be a doctor. Since the She has made a couple of minor appearances in reactions to major events and is flash backs of Usopp's past. She should have a trait called "Supporter of the Straw Hats", a special called "Protected" and on her last click Support.
Supporter of the Straw Hats: If there is a character called Usopp in you force, Kaya has the Straw Hat Crew keyword.

Protected: Kaya can use the defense value of an adjacent friendly character. If there is a character called Usopp with is three squares, Usopp gains Willpower.

Both these abilities with be quite common from now on in one form or another. Well any way she should have about four clicks of health and starting values of Movement 7, Attack 7, Defense 15, Damage 1 and Range 0. She should not have a TA and her keyword should be Citizen which is a new genetic keyword.

Lastly we have Tessai Tsukabishi from Bleach. Tessai is an employee of the Urahara and a childhood friend of Kisuke Urahara and Yoruichi Shihõin. One hundred years before the storyline he was the Captain of the Kidõ Corps in Soul Society. He was forced into exile by Sõsuke Aizen and is currently hiding in the world of the living with Urahara in an untraceable Gigai while helping out in his shop. This version of Tessai is of him during the beginning of the series. He should have Super Strength, a Special called "Kidõ Barrier Master", Invulnerability and Close Combat Expert.
Kidõ Barrier Master: Tessai can use Barrier and Incapacitate as if he has a range of 6.
He should have about six clicks of health and starting values of Movement 6, Attack 10, Defense 16, Damage 2 and Range 0. His TA should be the Bleach one and his keywords should be Brute and Karakura Town.
