DreamClix Special, News Overload

Welcome to another DreamClix Special post. For people new to the blog the "DreamClix Special" posts is normally happens on weeks that there was no games. It contains why the game never happens; next week's game; the HeroClix news since the last HeroClix post; a little larger DreamClix section which are fan made HeroClix; and news about updates to the DreamClix Dial Designs page. The was no game this week as Darren cancelled at the last minute, which was good for my (read next week's Neoscream's Life post to learn why. So the game for this week will be moved to next week. Strongest Out There. 500 points. Three actions. One figure must be a Hulk or a Hulk like figure. All other figures can not be over 100 points. No Feats are aloud. The Hulk or Hulk like character's Defence powers can not be Outwitted.

Now the HeroClix news for the week, and there is a lot this week. This week there were previews of Nova Corps Recruit and Nova Corps Centurion from the Marvel: Galactic Guardians set; the U.S.S. Excelsior, the I.K.S. Kronos One and the Warship Voyager from the Star Trek: Tactics set; Gabe Jones from the Marvel: Avengers Movies set; and In-Betweener and Soul Gem object. There is also news on mote up and coming HeroClix stuff. There will be a twenty-four figure, single figure booster set for the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, as well as a board game and starter set for the film. The board game will have Batman, Bane, Catwoman and the Joker, while the starter will have Batman, Catwoman, the Joker, Bane, Harvey Two-Face and Sgt. Gordon. There will be two new Fast Forces sets based on DC: 75th Anniversary and Marvel: Giant Size X-Men. The DC: 75th Anniversary one is called War of the Light and will contains the Lanterns Atrocious, Larfleeze, Sinestro, Saint Walker, Indigo One and Star Sapphire. While the Marvel: Giant Size X-Men one is called Uncanny X-Men and will contain Professor X, Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, Rogue and Wolverine. Wow a lot of must haves. There will also be a Star Trek: Away Team Starter set that will contain seven characters (not ships) from the newest Star Trek film by J.J. Abrams. The only named figures are Kirk, Spock and McCoy, but I am guessing the other four will be Uhura, Scotty, Sulu and Chekov due to the fact that there are figures for them in the Expeditions board game and It's expansion set. The Batman stuff will be out on June, the Fast Forces stuff will be out on May and the Star Trek: Away Team Starter will be out on July. I am betting the Batman: The Dark Knight Rises will contain the 2012 rules as June is about the time WizKids release a updated rulebook and "Powers and Abilities" card. On personal I have picked up the Incredibly Hulk Fast Forces set. The only box sets left to get are DC: Superman Fast Forces Battle for Smallville and the Lord of the Rings Starter until all the new stuff comes out.

Now for this week's DreamClix section. This week I am doing ideas for a Britannia Pilot from Code Geass, a Fuchikoma from Ghost in the Shell, Gelus from Death Note, a card for One Piece; and Luna Lovegood, Patronus Charm and the Hogwarts School team ability from Harry Potter. But first here are dial designs for Ichigo's Cosplay card from Cosplay Deviants, the New Recruit generic from Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex, the weak version of Mumm-Ra from the 2011 Thundercats; and Monster Carrot from Dragon Ball.

Next is a Pilot Card for the Britannia Pilot from Code Geass. The Holy Empire of Britannia (also refered to as the Britannian Empire or just Britannia) is a nation born from the defeated remnants of the British Empire and is the world's dominant military superpower and one of the large Empire-unions that control Earth initially in the early 21st Century, the others being the Chinese Federation, the Euro Universe, and later United Federation of Nations.
Requirements: Britannia keyword.
Special Ability: None.
Mecha Ability: None.
Team Ability: Britannia
The next Code Geass idea should be a Pilot Card for Lelouch.

Next is a Fuchikoma from Ghost in the Shell. A Fuchikoma is a 1-man tank (walker/roller) used by members of Section 9 of the National Public Safety Commission. They also appear in slightly altered form as Tachikoma in the anime series. The Fuchikoma was the team's A.I. tanks in the manga, but due to copy right problems they were replaced with the Tachikomas in the anime. They possess a simple artificial intelligence and can act independently to support their user in combat. When not in use, they exhibit a childlike personality and provide much of the humor in the series, while also being used to elaborate on Shirow's philosophy and ideas. Their AI does not include typical safeguards as they are military hardware, but because they possess emotions, they are closely monitored for signs of instability. The Fuchikomas within Section 9 are synchronized nightly or after missions to share their experiences and allow the entire group to learn from them. Mechanically, they have four legs and two simple hands with three fingers on extensible arms which double as machine guns. The "face" consists of a large main lens and two smaller sensors with a "mouth" below, which is commonly a grenade launcher but sometimes a heavier machine gun. The pilot sits in a hunched position inside a large posterior pod with interface cables leading to the standard ports in the user's neck for direct control, but the Fuchikoma can also be given orders to act without a pilot.  They can handle many different types of terrain, and are able to walk up walls, rappel, walk, or extend wheels from their feet to drive. They are also submersible. They should be like the Tachikoma, but with a lower move value, a higher damage value and at less one click of health more. The next Ghost in the Shell idea should be Criminal Mastermind.

Next is Gelus from Death Note. Gelus appears in a flashback when Rem explains how to kill a Shinigami. He is a small, doll-like Shinigami whose appearance suggests that he was poorly sewn together from mismatched fabric. He only has one eye, despite having two eye sockets. In the flashback, Rem recalls Gelus watching over a younger Misa Amane in the human world. Knowing that it was Misa's final day, she watches with him. Having fallen in love with Misa, Gelus uses his Death Note to kill Misa's destined murderer, against Rem's protests. Gelus is reduced to a pile of dust as punishment for extending a human life, leaving behind only his Death Note. In the anime, he is shown to drop the pen and start crying, before his eye disappears and he disintegrates. Rem delivers his Death Note to Misa because it was her that he saved as she thinks that was his final wish. In the film, she simply drops it and it lands near Misa. He is voiced by Ken'ichi Matsuyama in Japanese and Michael Dobson in the English dub. He should have the "Shinigami Being" trait (see the dial designs for Ryuk and Rem for the trait), the fight symbol, Phasing, Psychic Blast and Probability Control. He should have about four clicks of health and starting combat values of Movement 6, Attack 9, Defence 16, Damage 2 and Range 10 with one target. He should have the Power Cosmic team ability and the keywords Shinigami and Mystical. The Death Note idea should be a card.

Next is a card for One Piece. Will it be a Feat, an Additional Team Ability or an Object. FEAT.
Supporter of the Straw Hats: Requirements - There must be a character called Monkey D Luffy on your force.
The character this is equipped with must not have the Straw Hat Crew or Pirate keywords and must be 50 points or less. This character gains the Straw Hat Crew keyword.
This will replace the special ability on several dial ideas and will course Cody to drop the Straw Hat Crew keyword. The next One Piece idea should be Gin.

Next is Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. Luna Lovegood was a witch and daughter of Xenophilius Lovegood and his wife. Her mother accidentally died while experimenting with spells when Luna was nine, and Luna was raised by her father, editor of the magazine The Quibbler, in a rook-like house around the village of Ottery St. Catchpole. Luna attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1992 to 1999 and was sorted into Ravenclaw house. In her fourth year, Luna joined Dumbledore's Army, of which she became an important member. She participated in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries in 1996 and the Battle of the Astronomy Tower in 1997, and co-led the reconstituted Dumbledore's Army when Hogwarts fell under the control of Lord Voldemort. Because of her father's political dissidence at the time, Luna was abducted by Death Eaters to be held ransom, and imprisoned in the dungeons of Malfoy Manor for months. She was freed by Dobby along with several other prisoners in the spring of 1998, and stayed at Shell Cottage until she returned to Hogwarts to participate in the final battle of the Second Wizarding War. She should have Barrier, a special called "Summon (Patronus Charm)", another special called "Spectrespecs", Preplex and Leadership.
Summon (Patronus Charm): Give Luna Lovegood a power action, SUMMON one Patronus Charm pog next to her, maximum of one per character with this ability can be on the field under your control. If Luna Lovegood loses this ability, remove from play the Patronus Charm.
Spectrespecs: Luna Lovegood ignores Hindering terrain for line of sight.
She should have about five clicks of health and starting combat values of Movement 8, Attack 9, Defence 16, Damage 2 and Range 6 with one target. She should have the Hogwarts School team ability and the keywords Hogwarts, Ravenclaw and Mystical.

Next is the Patronus Charm pog from Harry Potter. The Patronus Charm is a charm that evokes a partially-tangible, positive energy force known as a Patronus. Patronuses are also called spirit guardians though this may only refer to corporeal Patronuses. It is primarily designed for defence against otherwise unbeatable Dark creatures like Dementors and Lethifolds, though there are other uses. It should have Phasing and "Burst of Light".
Burst of Light: Patronus Charm can use Pulse Wave as if it has a range value of 6, but it only effects characters with the monster keyword. Remove Patronus Charm from play after using this ability.
It's starting combat values should be Movement 10, Attack 10, Defence 15, Damage 2 and Range 0. The next Other section idea should be Hikaru Usada, (Rabi~en~Rose) from Di Go Charat.

Next is the Hogwarts School team ability: A character with the Hogwarts School team ability can use Enhancement, but only on other characters with the Hogwarts School team ability.

Lastly is the DreamClix Dial Designs page update news. I have updated the page three times since last week's HeroClix post. On Sunday was I updated the Capcom stuff and added the Christmas stuff, on Tuesday I added the Code Geass reboot stuff and on Thursday I started the first of four CosmicBreak update. There while be four CosmicBreak updates because as I need to edit all the dials and I am changing all the Traits to team abilities. Here are the two new dial designs and the three Team Ability pictures from the updates:

Well that is it for this week. Until next time, Mecha Up.
