HeroClix MK the 5th of January, X-Men get together

Welcome to the first HeroClix post of 2012. This week there were previews of Hollywood from Galactic Guardians; the U.S.S. Voyager and the I.K.S. Ch'Tang from Star Trek; and Thor from the Avengers Movies set. On some personal news, I forgot to say last week that I now have the Street Fighter Starter Set and three new Captain America figures (Nick Fury, Sin and Scorpion), and this week I just got the Watchmen Fast Forces set as well.

This week's game was Battle of the Small Fry. 300 points, no figure over 70 points including cards. This week Adam was back for a game as he was still off from University for the holidays. I first made two teams for this, a Gotham City team and a X-Men First Class team. The Gotham team was:

Bruce Wayne (001 Brave and the Bold) 48
The Question (004 Arkham Asylum) 37
Batman (016 Arkham Asylum) 64
Harvey Dent (102 Arkham Asylum) 67
Batgirl (014 Crisis) 70
Robin (028 Hypertime) 17
=303 points and two re-rolls.

And the X-Men First Class team was:

Angel (031 Giant Size X-Men) 50
Marvel Girl (001 Mutations and Monsters) 40
Cyclops (002 Mutations and Monsters) 50
Beast (003 Mutations and Monsters) 50
Iceman (004 Mutations and Monsters) 60
Havok (039 Mutant Mayhem) 44
=294 points and two re-rolls.

The gamer side of me says I should go with the Gotham City team, while the comic book fan side of me says I should go with the X-Men First Class team. In the end I decided to go for the X-Men First Class team. On the first round I was up against Darren. He was using a Teen Titansteam who were:

Beast Boy (014 75th) 60
Damage (017 Origin) 62
Raven (028 Icons) 54
Robin (034 Arkham Asylum) 66
Wonder Girl (003 Crisis) 60
=302 points and two re-rolls.

I would have to say my luck was high for this game. I was ever missing by one or rolling high numbers in this game. It was a rare win against Darren. On the second round I was up against Adrian. He was using a Teen team who were:

3 x Cuckoo (009 Mutations and Monsters) 40 x 3 = 120
Ali Blair (209 Armour Wars) 65
Shadowcat (038 Sinister) 54
Wiccan (047 Avengers) 54
=293 points and one re-roll.

This was a long and close game, but I manage to KO'd enough of this team to win the game. On the third round I was up against Adam. He was using another X-Men team who were:

Angel (031 Giant Size X-Men) 50
Cyclops (002 Mutations and Monsters) 50
Havok (039 Mutant Mayhem) 44
Armor (050 Giant Size X-Men) 66
Storm (006 Danger Room) 40
Multiple Man (049 Sinister) 17
Multiple Man (050 Sinister) 32
=299 points and two re-rolls.

Sadly my luck ran out in this game and I ended up losing this game. On the fourth round I got the bye, that class as a win. Sadly like last week we did not have time here a fifth round for those who want to know Michael was using a Fantastic Four team who were:

Black Panther (087 Infinity Challenge) 46 + Fantastic Four (ATA) 5 = 51
Crystal (085 Armour Wars) 62 + Fantastic Four (ATA) 5 = 67
Human Torch (070 Fantastic Forces) 51 + Fantastic Four (ATA) 5 = 56
Mr. Fantastic (080 Fantastic Forces) 62 + Fantastic Four (ATA) 5 = 67
Spider-Man (001 Secret Invasion) 50 + Fantastic Four (ATA) 5 = 55
=296 points and two re-rolls.

There will not be a game next week as Darren will be busy. He has left it to me to decide what we will be doing the following week which I will decide be for next week's DreamClix Special.

Now for this week's DreamClix section. This week I am doing ideas for both modes of the Ovv-f Gafran and a M.S. team ability from Mobile Suit Gundam AGE; and a Pilot Card for Kallen Kõzuki and a Knightmare Frame team ability from Code Geass. But first here are dial designs for the re-done Glasgow from Code Geass; Amaterasu from Õkami; Bardock from Dragon Ball and Inner Moka from Rosario + Vampire.

Next is the Ovv-f Gafran from Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. These are the standard mobile suits used by the U.E.. The U.E. (Unknown Enemy) are robot mobile suits created by the Hino company 100 years in the future of the show to assist in the development of the AGE System, with the ultimate goal to create the most powerful Gundam. A 100 years from the time line of the show, a terrible enemy will be attacking Earth (not the U.E.), and Earth's technologies will be insufficient to meet this threat, facing total annihilation. This is the reason why the U.E. is attacking, in order to help produce a more powerful Gundam to save the future. In their dragon like mode they should have the flying transporter symbol, Energy Shield Deflection, Plasticity and Super Senses. While their humanoid mode should Running Shot, Charge, Combat Reflexes and Toughness. Both should have a trait called "Morph (Gafran)" and about five or six clicks of health.
Morph (Gafran): Give Ovv-f Gafran a move action that deals no pushing damage. After the action resolves, replace it with any character with this trait on the same click number. Existing Pilot Card, action tokens and action tokens for the action are applied to the replacement.
In their dragon like mode they should have starting combat values of Movement 13, Attack 9, Defence 17, Damage 3 and Range 8 with one target. While their humanoid mode should have Movement 9, Attack 10, Defence 17, Damage 3 and Range 8 with one target. They should both have the new M.S. team ability and the keyword U.E.. You might be wounding why there is no pilot list or why it has a M.A. team ability instead of U.E.. I decided to change how pilot cards would run like. Details will be covered later on in this post. The next Mobile Suit Gundam idea should be the "U.E. Auto Pilot" Pilot Card and the U.E. Team Ability.

Next is the M.S. (Mobile Suit) team ability from all the Mobile Suit Gundam shows. At first I was going to do this as a train on all Mobile Suits, however as I decided to give the pilots the sides Team Ability I decided to make it a Team Ability so I do not need to re-do all the dials if I need to re-word it like the nightmare known as CosmicBreak. Know for the Team Ability: Figures with this Team Ability can be equipped with one Pilot Card. They can only be equipped with other cards (like Feats ans ATAs) only if they are equipped with a Pilot Card, unless the card states otherwise.

Next is the Pilot Card for Kallen Kõzuki form Code Geass. As I have done her background information in the past, I will not be re-posting it in this post. Pilot Cards are special cards that can only be given to figures that can take them, also the normally have a keyword based requirement. Currently only figures with the M.S. and Knightmare Frame team abilities can have Pilot Cards. Pilot Cards will always give the figure a Team Ability and most of the time a special ability or combat value modifier. Also some Pilot Cards give a secondary special called a Mecha Ability based on if they are piloting a listed figure. A lot of Pilot Cards are unique. You can only field one copy of a unique pilot and the figure it is equipped on is treated as having its name and the unique pilot's name. Now for Kallen's card:

CG-PC01
Pilot: Kallen Kõzuki. UNIQUE
Requirements: Black Knights keyword.
Special Ability: One per game as a Power Action, heal the figure one click of damage and place a Lost Arm token of the figure she is piloting. If the figure she is piloting has a Lost Arm token on it, it suffers a -1 to both its Damage and Attack combat values.
Mecha Ability: Type-02 Guren, Type-02/F1A Guren Fight-Enabled, Type-02/F1Z Guren S.E.I.T.E.N. - If there is a friendly character called Zero within eight squares of Kallen Kõzuki, the figure she is piloting gain a +1 to its Attack combat value.
Team Ability: Black Knights

Next is the Knightmare Frame team ability from Code Geass: Figures with this Team Ability can use Leap Climb, however this Leap Climb can be Outwitted. Also figures with this Team Ability can be equipped with one Pilot Card. They can only be equipped with other cards (like Feats ans ATAs) only if they are equipped with a Pilot Card, unless the card states otherwise.

Lastly we have the DreamClix Dial Designs updates for the week. There was an update on Saturday were I added a missing One Piece dial, added a new One Piece dial, re-worded the Marine team ability and added two missing Soul Eater dials; and there was an update on Thursday where I added a new Soul Eater dial, added the missing Thundercats dials, a new Thundercats dial and a missing Bleach dial. Here are the three new dial designs from the updates:

Well that is it for this week. Until next time, Mecha Up.
