MK HeroClix, the 3rd of May, Avengers at War

Welcome to another MK HeroClix post. First off is the HeroClix news for the week. This week there were previews of Scarecrow from DC: The Dark Knight Rises; John Constantine from DC: Justice League 2 and Doctor Fate the DC Convention prize support figure. Also this week there is a new playe's guide that introduce eight new Addisonal Team Abilities which I used one of them in this week's game. On personal news all but one of the figures I ordered have arrived and I have traded the spare Avengers Movie Thor with Darren for Incredible Hulk Red Hulk.

This weeks game was REVs. 600 points, six figures no more no less. Two figures must Rookies, two must be Experience and two must be veteran. After watching Avengers Assembled on Monday, I am wanting to field an Avengers team and managed to build this team:

Nick Fury (035 Avengers Movie) 70
Black Widow (036 Avengers Movie) 35
Maria Hill (018 Captain America)  72
Captain America (001 Avengers Movie) 75
Nova Prime (001 Galactic Guardians)  150 + Nova Corps (ATA) -10 = 140
Iron Man (014 Web of Spider-Man) 202
=594 points and four re-rolls.

On the first round I was up against Adrian. He was using an Avengers theme team who were:

Quicksilver (058 Avengers) 49
Black Panther (106 Universe) 27
Spider-Man (001 Secret Invasion) 50
Thor (016 Hammer of Thor) 226
The Incredible Avenger (006 Avengers Movie Starter) 150
Luke Cage (014 Captain America) 98
=600 points and four re-roll.

Thor was a grade A pain with his Running Shot, 12 Attack and 5 Damage, as my team whole team were tired up with the rest of his team. I ended up losing this game. I was able to a large chunk of his team before my team were wiped of the map. On the second round I was up against Michael. He was using a S.H.I.E.L.D. theme team who were:

Captain America (040 Hammer of Thor) 72
S.H.I.E.L.D. Sentry (204 Captain America) 45
Maria Hill (018 Captain America) 72 189
Iron Widow (022 Avengers) 118
Iron Man (021 Secret Invasion) 188 495
Dum Dum Dugan (032 human Secret Invasion) 75
=570 points and four re-rolls.

I was at first really worried about his Captain America and its 'f'ing high defence value (18 + Energy Shield Deflection). But I keep out of his range and when he got close enough I moved Black Widow into base contact to him. With Captain America tides up I worked on the rest of his team. At one point he needed to roll a 5 or more to hit (and KO) my Iron Man. He rolled a a critical miss, he themed it, he hit, I decided to theme him (normal with 5+ I do not wast a theme team re-roll on) and then he rolled a critical miss again which saved my Iron Man who regened the next turn three clicks of health. I ended up KOing his whole team and I only lost Black Widow. So a won for me. On the third and final round I was up against Darren. He was using anithet Avengers themed team who were:

Scarlet Witch (057 Avengers) 35
Amadeus Cho (027 Incredible Hulk) 59
Thor (004 Avengers Movie) 200
Captain America (040 Captain America) 83
The Sharpshooting Avenger (005 Avengers Movie Starter) 75 + Stunning Blow (Feat) 10 = 85
Hercules (026 Incredible Hulk) 131
=593 points and four re-rolls.

This was a nightmare game. Not because of the hard hitters, but because of the double Probability Control, stacked with theme team re-rolls and an Outwit. I only Managed to KO'd his Amadeus Cho before my team was wiped off the map. So I only won one game this week. But the big shocker was Adrian won all three of his games meaning he got first place instead of Darren.

Next week should be 600 points, four actions, must be a Named theme team. Adrian has reviled he is fielding an Sinestro Corps team next week. Heavy Perplex, wonderful.

Now for this week's DreamClix section. This week I am doing ideas for the Sonya Blades from Mortal Kombat, the Mortal Kombat team ability, Major Metallitron from Dragon Ball and Mega Man from Mega Man. But first I have designs of Happy from Fairy Tail, Rabi~en~Rose from Di Gi Charat, Fullbody from One Piece and the World Government team ability formally called Marines.

Next is Sonya Blades from Mortal Kombat. A member of a top United States Special Forces unit, Sonya Blade is a beautiful, stern, tough-as-nails lieutenant. Her impulsiveness is catalyzed by her superior and good friend, Major Jackson "Jax" Briggs. Sonya represents a very emancipated and headstrong woman, but for all her stubbornness and pride, she deeply cares about the lives of her friends and comrades. She has a long-standing enmity with the thug, Kano, who had murdered a former partner of hers, and stands for everything Sonya despises. Sonya has the power to fire and manipulate pink-coloured energy, as well as gain temporary flight (or at the very least the ability to maneuver in air). Her abilities are vast, mostly based on agility, as well as deadly and impressive due to her Special Forces training. She is very fast in combat, using quick and effective kicks and strikes. She is also, along with Liu Kang, Nightwolf, Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Smoke, Kabal and Stryker, one of Raiden's Chosen Warriors, being the only female with the honour and, thus, one of the strongest fighters not only in Earthrealm, but all the realms. She should have Charge, Fury, Incapacitate, Combat Reflexes and Super Senses. She should have six clicks of health and starting combat values of Speed 8, Attack 10, Defence 17, Damage 3 and Range 5 with one target. Her team ability should be the Mortal Kombat one (see below) and her keywords should be Soldier, Garden's Chosen Warriors and Martial Artist.

Next is the Mortal Kombat team ability: Whenever a character with the Mortal Kombat team ability KOs an opposing character with an attack, place one Finishing Blow token onto their card. At the beginning of you turn you may remove one Finishing Blow token from a character that has the Mortal Kombat team ability. That character can use Exploit Weakness and gains +1 to their Damage value until the end of your turn. Uncopyable.
The next other section idea should be Yomiko Readman from Read or Dead.

Next is Major Metallitron from Dragon Ball. Major Metallitron (also known as Full Metal Jacket) is an android created by the Red Ribbon Army, and Goku's second challenge in the Muscle Tower. Due to his android functions, Metallitron is very stoic, and follows any given assignment to him with no hesitation, as his duty is to stop anyone from advancing past the third floor of the Muscle Tower, even if it means killing them. Major Metallitron first appears when Goku is advancing through Muscle Tower to save the Jingle Village Chief. When Goku arrives on his floor, General White orders him to kill Goku, and proceeds to, starting to squish Goku. However, Goku escapes from Metallitron's grasp. At one point in the anime, Goku accidentally blows off his head (and exposes a metal plate in his chest) using a Kamehameha, but even that does not stop Metallitron from continuing its rampage. Even without a head and eventually losing both wrists, he tries to repeatedly stomp Goku flat. Goku later impales him through the back with his Power Pole, and then headbutts through him, leaving a much larger hole. Despite the considerable damage done to his body, the major continues his assault on Goku, only stopping when his batteries (which had not been replaced since the previous spring) are drained of their energy. It is the first time in the series someone is actually able to take a couple hits from Goku and a Kamehameha, and continue fighting. He should have the flight symbol (ok it was only seen in Dragon Ball GT and I am trying to keep the manga then anime, but I feel it would suit him being a Android), Super Strength, Indomitable, Impervious and Close Combat Expert. He should have five to six clicks of health and starting combat values of Speed 6, Attack 9, Defence 19, Damage 3 and Range 4 with one target. His team ability should be the Red Ribbon Army one and his keywords should be Soldier, Brute, Robot and Red Ribbon Army. The next Dragon Ball idea should be the second chase figure King Vegeta (Vegeta's father).

Next is Mega Man from the Mega Man. Mega Man, known as Rockman in Japan, is a video game character and the titular protagonist of the Mega Man series of games introduced by Capcom in 1987. Since then, he has become one of the company's primary original characters and continues to be one of the video game industry's most recognizable icons. Having appeared on many gaming systems since the Nintendo Entertainment System, Mega Man has had a wide gaming audience, and his games continue to evolve with the ever-changing hardware demands of modern gaming systems. Mega Man's fictional universe can be divided into seven categories, each featuring different variations and incarnations of a cyborg boy hero. Although "Mega Man", or "Rockman", is usually the name used to describe only the original Mega Man from the classic series, it can also be used less specifically to describe the Mega Man series of fictional works, or the group of adherently named main characters within. The several spin-off series that have emerged over the past years, each one continuing the Mega Man mythos in some unique way, includes but is not limited to the Mega Man X, Mega Man Legends, Mega Man Battle Network, and Mega Man Star Force series. A resulting animated series was also produced originally in Japan as well as a number of toys, comics, and collectables available both in and outside of Japan. Mega Man's role in the original story is to battle the mad scientist Dr. Wily and his ever-growing army of robots, and stop them from taking over the planet by using their own special abilities against them. Utilizing his Mega Blaster arm cannon (referred to as the Mega Buster starting with Mega Man IV), and his ability to copy a defeated cyborg's special weapon. Mega Man must travel the world and traverse harsh environments in order to bring Wily's menace to an end. With the help of his creator Dr. Light and his assorted cybernetic companions, Mega Man's eventual goal is to one day achieve "everlasting peace". He should have Running Shot, Toughness, Energy Shield Deflection, Range Combat Expert and a trait called "Power Gain".
Power Gain: When making an can with Mega Man, choose a standard power or ability the target of the attack has showing on their dial. If the attack KOs the target, Mega Man gains the chosen standard power or ability and a +1 to the related combat value for the rest of the game.
He should have five to six clicks of health and starting combat values of Speed 8, Attack 10, Defence 17, Damage 2 and Range 5 with one target. He should not have a team ability and his keywords should be Robot and Armour The next Capcom idea should be Zero.

Lastly is the DreamClix Dial Designs page update news. Due to a busy weekend and only Sunday off this week, there were no updates since the last HeroClix post. There should be the second of the Death Note update on Sunday and the third and final Death Note update on Wednesday.

Well that is it for this week. Until next time, Mecha Up.
