Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”, the all new
weekly gaming post that replace’s the “MK HeroClix”, the “Model Painting” and
the “7TV Listings” posts as well gaming news and events that use to be in my
“Neoscream’s Life” posts.
Gaming News
First off is the Mantic news. Now that DreadBall is
more or less over in terms of KickStarter deliveries, now the wait is on for
Loka and then Deadzone first shipment which are both due out before Christmas.
Mantic have added a Season One and a Season Two Free Agent packs and a Quick
Change Artist pack for DreadBall onto their store as well as pr-orders of the
new Elf stuff for King of War. As of Tuesday the final DreadBall KickStarter
stuff has finished shipping from them. Due to stock problems the Season 2 team
booster packs have been pushed back until November and also the DreadBall
Ultimate box set is currently out of stock due to a huge demand for the book
(this most likely means the Season Three book is ever on short supply or is out
too). With the Mars Attacks KickStarter they have managed to unlock on the
second week: Joe as an Alternate Saucer Pilot core add-on; Sidewalk Slaughter
Suburban Accessory Set, Waste Disposal Suburban Accessory Set from Antenociti’s
Workshop as Pledge add-ons (not available with credit); a new Pledge Level
called “Alien Abduction” which cost $300 and gives you the Starter set, $300 of
credit and any bonus stuff from “Will of Man level” and above; Army Expansion
deals from both sides as add-ons; Kickstarter Exclusive Martian Supreme Regent
with any pledge of $350 or more during the campaign (pre-survey); Kickstarter
Exclusive diorama with two Martians Raising a Flag with any pledge of $500 or
more during the campaign (pre-survey); a Martian t-shirt pledge add-on; a
Martian USB pen pledge add-on; and the core add-on Martian Mayhem which if you
get it with credit you will also get the Mars Attacks version of Blaine.
Stretch goal that were left as I start to post this were: Wrecked Car Scenery
Piece at 2,540 backers; Giant Robots Core Add-On at $460,000; a military
upgrade for the truck at $465,000; one more character added to the starter set;
more Giant Bugs; new scenery types; weapon upgrade to the truck; maybe some
small animals; maybe some curvy civilians; maybe some sneaky Martians; and
maybe a Martian DreadBall team. I am heavily considering pulling out of this
KickStarter, not because of the long wait for the third shipment of the final
DreadBall shipment. I will have by time Mars Attacks comes out a lot of
miniature gaming systems and I cannot see me really playing in. The terrain at
first glance was great, but I am finding it is too 2D for me as there seems to
be a huge lack of elevation. I will want until the last couple of days before
pulling out if I do and I will still support the project. I think it is the
pull of a great deal and the fact I have backed all but one of Mantic’s
KickStarters (I did not back their first one, Kings of War) that is drawing me
in than anything. Sadly by the look of things, apart from the hung starting
boom and the huge boom during New York Comic Com, the KickStarter is not doing
that well. It did just over $22,000 and 76 new backers in this week. Ok, thing
well pick up by next week end when it is ending and is has beaten both Kings of
War and Loka. But will it beat DreadBall’s $728,985 or get anywhere near
Deadzone’s $1,216,482? Only time will tell.

Blaine |
Before I move onto any other news I would like to
list all to miniature gaming systems I own:
- Warmachine.
- DreadBall.
- Zombicied.
- A DeadZone Force
(or two).
- Super Dungeon
Explore.
- Robotech RPG
Tactics.
- HeroClix.
- MechWarrior and Gruntz 15mm.
- 7TV, 7ombie TV,
7th Voyage, B7MG and DWMG (Doctor Who Miniatures Game) (I grouped these
together as I swap to from one and other and from other games like Zombicied).
- Planning on
getting Kingdom Death: Monster when it comes out.
- And game(s) I am
working on like MS Wars (which will be ever renamed to Mobius Wars or Mecha
Knight.).
Next is the HeroClix news. This week there was
previews of: The Melter, Hammer Industries Drone and Justin Hammer from Marvel
The Invincible Iron Man; Eowyn and Eomer from Lord of the Rings The Two Towers; The Joker and Joker Thug from DC Batman Arkham Origins; and Cyclops from Marvel Avengers vs. X-Men. There are some major rule changes
and errata coming soon due to the Watch List that was set up. TAs part of
WizKids’ ongoing efforts to maintain HeroClix as the most exciting game they
announcing the rollout of a new initiative last month called the HeroClix Watch
List. From time to time they may
announce figures and mechanics that have already been released that may require
refinement for the overall health and betterment of the HeroClix gaming
community. The first bunch of figures and mechanics had been through this and
new rules have been made. They just have to write them into the next errata
with the right wording.

The second Elven Thief |
Now for the Elven Adventurers Box Set KickStarter
news. I had upped my pledge to include Elven Thief (the first one) and Kitsune
during the week, but with the second Elven Thief I might up it to include her.
They have managed to unlock during the last seven days: A Trumpet, Harp and
five other musical instruments were added to the Luthwaine's Caravan
adventuring party (the musical instrument from last week’s post was a Kazoo);
the League of Cyn'Thark adventuring party with Elven Priest, Elven Sorcerer,
Elven Necromancer and three Grippli Hunting Party members (as well as the Elven
Scout); and a Troll Rock Chucker and a Female Troll Mage (Stonehaven Miniatures
are known for throwing in trolls to their KickStarter). Stretch goal that were
left as I start to post this were: Elven Female Fighter added to the League of
Cyn'Thark adventuring party at $47,500; Elven Infiltrator at $52,500; a Pixie
Quester at $48,000, $49,000 and $50,000; another Elven Thief at $57,500; and
Kitsune at 500 backers.
Next is the Zombicide news. There is a new mission
up on their website that is for Season Two called "Run For It!".
Now for the Hasslefree Miniatures news. They are
away on a road trip until the 2nd of November but they did release five new
figures and two pre-orders a couple of days before hand. The new figures are
the final two members of the core Spec Ops squad ("cough" SG-1
"cough") and three Zombie apocalypse survivors, while the pre-order
figures are two fantasy characters. As the core Spec Ops squad ("cough"
SG-1 "cough") members are done, there is a bundle deal for them. I
plan on picking this up in the future for a 7TV team. Also images of figures
that are currently being made were revealed with some names. Even though they
did not name her I can see Shimmer there. Sweet, a new Shimmer.

Aya Origins preview |
Next is the Kingdom Death news. There was a long
awaited update on their KickStarter. The first since I started talking about it
on this blog. Due to some major problems with the armour kits, they have
invested a significant chunk into a special software license to make sure the
parts do fit with each other with ease. CGI photos of this and the masks from
the starter set and Lion Knight Expansion pack have been revealed. Card, token
and Book artwork have been revealed as well as the resin version of the
Sunstalker Dancer and some detail artwork of the back of the Dragon King. The
main rule is currently over 140 pages. Everything is looking great and it is
great to see a bit of the comic book story of Aya. And speaking of Aya, I
finally picked one up on eBay. Move away from the Update, the Kingdom Death web
store has be replaced and now stocks some extra Pinup Architect and by the look
of things a ton more Experiment of Death box sets. Also in the comments Adam
revealed that Nightmare Ram will have its own Kingdom Death Monster expansion
pack with a new Armour Kit to go with it.
Now for the Mekton news. The results for the poll
are in now and it looks like the mecha in the rule book will be listed by
teams.
Next is the Crooked Dice Games news. There are now
public rules for their Blake's 7 Miniatures Game (B7MG). This uses the 7TV
rules as a base. Seems quite interesting and I might introduction some of the
new stuff to my 7TV teams and game like the Open Lock Special Effect, as it was
a pain when everyone can do it. Also on November the 1st they will
be release seven St Searle's Foundation for Young Women member from 7ombie TV
to join lost years zombie hunter Misty.
Now for the Privateer Press news. I picked up for
just under £6 (including postage and packaging) an old version Crusader Heavy
Warjack on eBay so I now have a full starter set of Menoth as the stuff I
picked up at Campaign had a second Vanquisher instead of a Crusader.
Next is the RoboTech RPG Tactics news. Not really
much news this week. They will be running Demos at Detroit Fanfare in Michigan,
which they will be sell in limited numbers (100 each, both is metal) the Convention
Exclusive figures of Max and Miriya’s mecha. Also there was a preview image of
the Quel-Gulnau Recovery Pod.
Lastly I like to talk about a KickStarter that I am
not backing (will OK I am backing it at $1 so I can get the news on updates),
but I would like to share my support called Shadows of Brimstone. It is a Wild
West verses horror monsters board game with a very heavy role play feel. I am
not backing it as like I said in the Mantic news I already own/plan on owning a
bunch of Miniature games already and I have not really been a Wild West fan
(apart for Wild Wild West due to Will Smith). It is a game I would really want
to play may be own my own character, but not having in taking out what little
room I have. In the first two days they have managed to fund in and unlock: the
female variants of the Outlaw, Gunslinger, Preacher (Nun), US Marshal and
Bandido; the male variants of the Rancher and Saloon Girl (Piano Player); the
“Dark Omen” encounter pack; The Scafford Gang; Colonel Scafford; the Dark Stone
Brutes; the Prospector hero class; Extra tiles add to the main pledge levels;
Serpentmen Warriors; two new Otherworld “Caverns of Cynder” and “Trederra”; and
the "Blood Money" encounter pack; and Lever Men. Stretch goal that
were left as I start to post this were: the Orphan hero class at $300,000; and
a female variant of the Indian Scout at $235,000.

Armies
After posting last week's post, I realised I forgot
a 7TV team the Empire.
This team will only be 100 rating for now, but I
might consider doing a 200 rating version in the future.
Homemade Rules
This week I have my altered stating rules for
7TV based on the ones on the forums. Starting stats apart from Movement and Hit
cost one Basic Character Stat Modifier to up a stat by one up to four and then
it is two to up it by one to six. Stats up by Rating and Production points go
up normal. Stats apart from Movement and Hit cannot be modified past six
outside spending Production points or double the starting archetype stat when
spending Production points. The Hit stat can only be modified by Also-Starting
(+1 mix) or by spending Production points (x2 Archetype starting). There are no
limits for movement. One stat can be reduced by one (or by two with Movement)
to gain one Basic Character Stat Modifier. Stat modifiers from Also Staring are
treated as being brought by Rating (as they were).
Until next time, Armour Up.
