Welcome to “Gaming News from Neoscream”. This is my
weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs, some card games and computer
games.
“Gaming News”
First off is the HeroClix news. This week we had
previews of: Star Sapphire, Star Sapphire Recruit, the Star Sapphire version of
Guy Gardner, Fatality, Miri Riam, the White Lantern Ring and the White Lantern
Power Battery from DC War of Light.
Next is the Dust: Operation Babylon KickStarter
news. Goodies unlocked since the KickStarter started were: Weapon upgrades for
the Leopols, the MV-47 and the Mickey have been added; the NDAK (Axis) light
walker Tropical Hermann as an add-on; a new USMC (Allied) light assault walker
as an add-on; two man artillery observer teams for each of the three forces as
add-ons; a ton of new pledge levels; and each army deal has gained another new
hero figure.
Stretch Goals still left when I posted this post
were: New units for the NDAK (Axis) and the Spetsnaz (SSU) as add-ons at $250k;
weapon upgrades for three walkers at $275k; a new NDAK (Axis) walker and a new
USMC (Allied) unit as add-ons at $300k; each army deal will gain a new
alternate pose hero figure at $350k; a new USMC (Axis) mortar unit and a new Spetsnaz (SSU) Heavy Tank as add-ons at $375k; the chose of a KickStarter Exclusive Template or a set of KickStarter Exclusive Tokens added to your army deal at $400k; a new USMC (Axis) Light Walker, a new SSU Steel Guard unit and a new USMC (Allied) Assault unit as add-ons at $425k; one free walker body added to every army deal at $450k; Kickstarter exclusive Operation
Babylon dice added to each army deal at 1,000 backers; Kickstarter
exclusive Operation Babylon decals added to each army deal at 1,250
backers; and an Abandoned Well terrain piece added to each army deal at 1,500
backers. There is also a USMC (Axis) mortar unit at a unrevealed amount.
Now for the OVA news. There is just two more
pictures they need to finish. When they are done they will finish off the PDF,
send it to backers and then move on to getting in painted out in book form.
Next is the Ninja Division news. With Super Dungeon
Explore Forgotten King KickStarter they posted an article talking about the
King and the five Princesses of Crystalia.
Just before posting there was an update for Robotech
RPG Tactics. There was a rough much up of the content of the main box game and
the finally version of the artwork for the box cover. According to them production
will be ready to begin in the next three weeks and THEY should start receiving
shipments in July. So MORE delays.
Now for the Shadows of Brimstone news. We got an
update with: the final artwork for the Swamps of Death box set; CAD images of
the Sand Kraken and the Undead Outlaw; and images/sneak peek of several of the
cards for the game.
Next is the Cool Mini or Not news. We now know that
with the Season Three starter for Zombicide there will be a major expansion set
like what "Toxic City Mall", as we get an image of the box set. It
will be called "Angry Neighbours". Oh and we also got a image of some new resin doors too.
Now for the Mantic news. This week we had standard
updates for both the Mars Attacks and DreadBall Xtreme KickStarters. With Mars
Attacks we got some more images from the rulebook, some images of the cards and
some CAD images of the 3D Flaming Cows tokens. With DreadBall Xtreme we got
images of the Crystallans players and some of the combination of the new Robot
team. The robots are looking great, however I am not liking the current look of
the Crystallans, this could just be the photos than the figures. I might go for
the Rebel team as my Season Five team than the Crystallans team now.
Also on yesterday we got an extra update for the
DreadBall Xtreme KickStarter saying that they have started sending out the new
Pledge Managers for DreadBall Xtreme and it could take up to 24 hours to
arrive. I only got the e-mail for the Pledge manager just before posting this. Also
with the update Mantic reveal several things. First was a CAD image of the
Cheerleader with Rush Tracker Counter (which was seen at the Mantic Open Day).
Next they have now stated that the Shipment has been split into two. All that
they have revealed is that the box game is in the first shipment and the second
shipment with a second survey for it will be out next year. I am not really
pleased with the split at this late stage or the lack of information about it,
in fact I am quite pissed off with it as it was meant to be the last big
Christmas present from my parents (due to work problem with my dad). This will
mean that it WELL be to first KickStarter they have done that ships very late.
Not what you expect from a company that has five other KickStarters under their
belt that have shipped on time (compared to other KickStarters). Now if it was
split during the KickStarter and said roughly what will be in each shipment
like the others they have done I would have been fine with the split. Well
anyway the next thing they revealed in the update was that they have given us
the alternate poses and prone figures for the Kovossian Mutants and Mechanites
that we missed in the Stretch Goals and the others will be still be running
thru the Pledge Managers. The next goal is the Ada-Lorana MVP Phantasm who will
be added to Rampage level and above at $590,000. Lastly the new Pledge Managers
will be open to non-backers in the future so that people who have not back it
can get stuff at KickStarter prices.
Next is the Crooked Dice Games news. We got more
pictures of painted figures of the May releases and unpainted for the June
releases. The May releases should be release next week, at a rough estimate the
6th of June.
Now for the Guild Ball news. An online store for pre
orders is now up and they have revealed the 2014 Convention (and online during
the weekend of conventions that attend) Exclusive Alternate Sculpt. This year
will be Boiler.
Next is the Privateer Press news. Well there is no
real news, however I have FINALLY got my Warmachine Tactics stuff. At long
f***ing last.
Now for the Among the Sleep news. Only just got the key codes as I was posting this. It is also on sell on Steam at a release special price of £13.49 until the 5th of June (normally £14.99).
Lastly Knight Miniatures have revealed the next two
35mm comic book characters they are working on. They are Ben Grim aka the
Things and the Damian Wayne version of Robin.
