HeroClix, the 14th of April, The X-Factor

Welcome to another Heroclix post. This week we did a scenario called X-Factor. No we did not singing. Thank goodness. X-Factor as in X-Gen. 500 points, 3 actions, where 50% of your team must have gained their powers from a nature mutation. After watching the new X-Men anime I decided to go for a team based on it. I many went for Giant Size X-Men stuff, however I went for the Mutations and Monsters Beast as I prefer this version to the new one.

There was not Michael this week, so with only four play we only had three rounds and no byes. Also Darren decided that we will be starting to user the new rules this week. On the first round I was up ageist Adrian. He was using an Illuminati team. His team was:

It was a long drawned battle. He took out my Wolverine with a single blow from Namor, I manage to KO Dr. Strange and all but our Professor Xs were close to being KOed by time. I lost by points. Durring the game my dice sucked. On the second round I was agaist Adam. He was using what he stated as a Mutant team that Darren played in the first round. His team was:

We normally do not check each other’s teams on a trust bases. But when I got home and wrote up the teams I found the Domino does not have the mutant keyword and the team was well over points. This is the second time in the row Adam’s team was illegal. We are going to have to check teams. Both times might have been mistake, so I am not calling him a cheater, but his team building skills to need to be checked upon. Use a program like Battle Plan or HCRealms Units section helps a lot. I best get back to the game. His team wiped the floor with me, I just could not hit when I really matters and the Super Senses and Probability Control does not help ever. He ended up winning the game. On the third and final round I was up ageist Darren. He was using a Brotherhood team that were:

Darren struggled with the new rules for TK. Personally, I think they are easier for new players to learn, however older plays will find it hard to learn to they are too use to the way it use to be and some of the changes are not logical to real life. For example, now the target needs to be able to draw line of fire to the square they are being TKed. In the past the target did not need to and logic dictates that they do not need to due to the fact that they are not the one doing the moving. Well I best get back to the game. I could not complain about luck in this as Darren was a better player despite the problems with the new rules.  He creamed my team with easy. The only real problem with my team was Wolverine. Only having size six meant he was getting KOed easier. Maybe I should have used old trust wary Fanatic Forces (if he has the X-Men keyword) then the new one, he would have lived longer. Three loses out of three game is bad.

Next week will be Equal Rights. 500 point, 3 actions, your team must have a girl for every boy unless the team an uneven number then the odd one can be ever gender. I already have the team I will be using ready.

Sadly there was no news from WizKids since the last update. So there will be no news this week, sorry about that.

Well now to Dreamclix. In this week's DreamClix I am doing dial designs for Chi-Chi from Dragon Ball, Mohji/Richie duo from One Piece, Crimrose from CosmicBreak and one Wolverine Character. And design ideas for the rest of the characters from the Wolverine anime as well as Hinata Hyūga from Naruto, Maka/Soul duo and Scythe Meister Maka from Soul Eater and some CosmicBreak characters.

First off are the dial designs for Chi-Chi from Dragon Ball, Mohji/Richie duo from One Piece and Crimrose from CosmicBreak.


Next we have Hinata Hyūga from Naruto. Hinata is the eldest child of the Hyūga clan's leader, Hiashi Hyūga, and as the first-born, was the heiress to the clan's main house. She apparently lost this position however, to her younger sister Hanabi, as Hinata was deemed a failure by their father. When she was young she was kidnapped by a head ninja from Kumogakure. Her father killed the kidnapper to save her, but Kumo demanded compensation in the form of Hiashi's life. This ultimately resulted in the death of Hinata's uncle, Hizashi Hyūga, who sacrificed himself in his twin brother's stead. This incident was particularly significant in shaping Hinata's early relationship with her cousin, Neji Hyūga. Perhaps because of her position as heiress, Hiashi had high expectations for Hinata and subjected her to gruelling training. However, Hinata's slow progress and frailty disheartened her father until eventually, he deemed her a lost cause. Instead, her father chose to focus and develop Hinata's younger sister, who proved much more promising than Hinata, making her the new heiress. By the time Hinata joined Team 8, Hiashi had completely lost interest in Hinata, leaving her care and protection to Kurenai Yūhi. Hinata's relationship with her father caused her to lose more faith in herself and she would often spend her time crying alone. It wasn't until she met Naruto Uzumaki that her perception changed drastically. Like the rest of Konoha's youth, she did not know why Naruto was treated as an outcast. However, Hinata found herself able to relate with his desire to be acknowledged and praised. She was amazed that despite Naruto having nothing and no one to rely on, he never gave up in believing he could become something great like Hokage. In the anime, Naruto was at one point shown protecting Hinata from bullies. Despite Naruto not knowing her, he refused to let the kids insult and degrade her. Since they outnumbered him, they beat him up and knocked him out. Surprised by how much Naruto wanted to help and believing that she too deserved to be acknowledged, Hinata was inspired. Like Naruto, she ultimately decided to try her best to become strong and never give up, so she could become acknowledged as well. This admiration of him later grew into affection despite warnings from her elders to stay away from Naruto. Like her team-mates, she is a skilled tracker and her Byakugan to see over long distances as well as even the smallest of objects amongst other things. First off I have the problem of covering the Byakugan. This has been buging me on how to do it. At first I thought about making it an ability to see thru Stealth. However the members Hyūga clan are skilled in Taijutsu (Hand to Hand) and not range based. After lots of thinking I come up with something to add to it to form a more solid trait.
Byakugan: When drawing line of fire you can ignore hindering terrain. When this character deals damage from a close combat attack, you can use Outwit, but only on the target.
Now with that over and done with, I can move onto what other powers she should have. A mid dial click or two of Flurry for Gentle Fist, Energy Shield Refletion for her ablity to block range attacks, an end of dial Willpower. She should have about four clicks of health and starting states of Movement 9, Attack 8 but with a mid dial spike of 9, Defence 16, Damage 2 and Range 4 with one target. Her TA should be the Naruto one and her keywords should be Hyūga Clan, Konohagakure and Team Kurenai.

Next is the Maka/Soul duo figure from Soul Eater. Maka Albarn is Soul Eater Evans' Scythe Meister. As such, she stands out as the female protagonist and one of the main Meisters in the story. Of all the main characters, she is the most normal and civilized of the group, which provides a significant balance to the other main characters. Soul Eater or just 'Soul' to his friends, is Maka Albarn's Demon Scythe partner. He is the main male protagonist and Weapon of the series. His real name is actually Soul Evans but upon entering Shibusen, he changed it to Soul Eater through Shibusen's liberal naming principles. I decided to do the Soul Eater teams using the Morph power used on Beast Boy from 75th Anniversary. There with be three forms, the members of the team as a duo, the weapons in weapon form and then their ultimate attack form. There will be a little twist to the last one and that one will be left until the next set at the earlyness. With some characters there will be other forms as well over time. This figure is the duo one meaning it will have the Duo Ability and a trait called "Morph (Soul)".
Morph (Soul): Give this character a move action that deals no pushing damage. After the acion resolves, replace them with any character with this trait on the same click number. Existing action tokens and action tokens for the action are applied to the replacement.
It should have Blade to show Soul's ability to partcally morph, Close Combat Reflexes for Maka ability to maneuver out of the way and Perplex to boost the figure up and to give reason to use this version. Also the Perplex shows off Maka's intelegace. They should have about five or six clicks of health and starting states of Movement 8, Attack 9, Defence 17, Damage 2 and Range 0. Their TA should be Soul Eater.
Soul Eater TA: Is the same as Defenders.
And finally their keywords should be DWMA and Teen.

Next is one of Maka/Soul morphed forms, Scythe Meister Maka from Soul Eater. In this form Soul has tuned into his Scythe form so it is Maka who is fighting. She shoud have the "Morph (Soul)" trait (the same as above), Charge, Blades, Close Combat Reflexes and Defened. She should have about five or six clicks of health and starting states of Movement 8, Attack 10, Defence 17, Damage 2 and Range 0. Her TA should be the Soul Eater and her keywords should be DWMA and Teen.

Next is Shingen Yashida from the Wolverine anime. Shingen in the anime is a supporter of A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics). He is a skilled swordsman who is able product a wind slash that can hit opponents at range. In his armour which he wears underneath his clothes, his hands become as deadly as any sword blade. Shingen is a real character from the Wolverine comics. However he was not a supporter of A.I.M. in the comics but from what I understand his clan do have links and dealings with The Hand, a group of Ninjas and Assassins, which is more fitting for the character than A.I.M.. Also in the comics he has a son, Mariko's half brother, Keniuchio Harada. Keniuchio is a well know Japanese mutant that also goes by the name Silver Samurai.  His dial should be done in two halves, his master swordsman side on the first half and the armoured martial artist on the second half. The master swordsman side should have a special called "Wind Slash", Blades, Leadership, Close Combat Reflexes and Toughness.
Wind Slash: Shingen can make a Range Combat Expert action as if he has a range of 8.
With the armoured martial artist half, he should Charge, Flurry, Invulnerability and Exploit Weakness. He should have about eight clicks of health and starting states of Movement 8, Attack 12, Defence 18, Damage 3 and Range 0. His TA should be the Hydra and his keywords should be A.I.M., Madripool, Martial Artist, The Hand and Yashida Clan. I gave him The Hand keyword because of the comics.

Next is Mariko Yashida from the Wolverine anime. Mariko is a Japanese woman that Logan fell in love with in both the anime and comic. However in the comic Logan almost ended up getting married while in the anime she died from a stray shot during the fight between Logan and Hideki Kurohagi. On top of having a known mutant half-brother, she also has a famous cousin who was a member of the X-Men, Shiro Yoshida aka Sunfire. I had been wondering how to do her and I came up with this, a trait called "Hostage".
Hostage: If this character is KOed, you gain the victory points instead of your opponent. If you’re whole force apart from this character is KOed, your opponent automatically wins the game. This character cannot be given more than one action token.
The last part was added to stop the control from pushing her to death. She should also have Defender and Support. She should have about four clicks of health and starting states of Movement 6, Attack 8, Defence 18, Damage 1 and Range 0. She should not have any TA and her keywords should be Madripool, X-Men and Yashida Clan.

With the Police Officers and Detectives in the series, the two generics I did for Death Note fit quite well with only an odd change to keywords. So I am not doing them again.

Next is Wolverine on a motorbike from both the Wolverine and X-Men animes. As Wolverine ride a motorbike in combat on the X-Men anime this is a duo show figure, so the start of the X-Men anime clix. Wolverine should be a double baser Transporter with Charge, Earthbound, Blades, Toughness, what is now the standard Trait for Wolverine and a special called “Eat Rubble”.
Eat Rubble: Wolverine can use Blades, Running Shot and Super Strength.
Healing Factor: Once at the beginning of your turn, as a free action you may heal Wolverine of 1 damage.
He should have about six clicks of health and starting states of Movement 12, Attack 11, Defence 18, Damage 3 and Range 0. Yes you read that right Range 0. The Running Shot he gets from his special is for throwing objects than range attacks. In the Wolverine anime he picked up boulders with his claws and throws them at the auto-guns that were shooting at him as he was driving along on the motorbike. His TA should be the X-Men and his keywords should be X-Men and Vehicle.

Next like I did with Iron Man I decided to do Wolverine as a dial design strait away. Hope you all like him.


Next is Destructor from CosmicBreak. This robot is said to have destroyed many planets during ancient battles. His power output is now controlled by a safety limiter. Destructor is a Large Artillery robot. He should have the ART trait, a special called "Missile Blast", Invulnerability, Toughness and Range Combat Expert.
Missile Blast: Destructor can use Energy Explosion as if he has a number of targets equal to his unmodified damage value. If a character with the Air keyword is hit it will deal two damage instead of just 1 for each blast. When using Energy Explosion other characters do not hindder line of fire.
He should have about eight clicks of health and starting states of Movement 4, Attack 11, Defence 15, Damage 4 and Range 10 with one target. His TA should be the Union one and his keywords should be Artillery, Robot and Union.

Next is Needle Mog from CosmicBreak. Born on a plant in Anemnah System, he lived underground due to the planet's unstable atmosphere. He has dangerous needles on his back and a bad temper. Needle Mog is a small Land type robot. It is one of my favourate bots from the game as he looks like a Hedgehog. He should have the LND trait, Poison and Toughness. Technicly Needle Mog does have a poison like ability, however due to his spikes I wanted to give him something to reposent them. He should have about four clicks of health and starting states of Movement 8, Attack 9, Defence 17, Damage 3 and Range 6 with one target. His TA should be the Union one and his keywords should be Land, Robot and Union.

Lastly today is Mech Knight from CosmicBreak. A supersonic robot known as the "Emissary of Flash". His body transforms for high speed flight. He is a small air type robot. He should have the Flyer symbol, the AIR trait, Hypersonic and Toughness. He should have about four clicks of health and starting states of Movement 10, Attack 9, Defence 18, Damage 3 and Range 6 with two targets. His TA should be the Union one and his keywords should be Air, Robot and Union.

Next time in DreamClix I am planning on doing dial ideas for is to start doing characters for the X-Men anime as well as Shino Aburame and his Bug Swarms from Naruto, Kuririn from Dragon Ball and two more IS characters. With dial designs I am planning on doing the Police Officer generic for Death Note and the Wolverine anime, Uryu Ishida from Bleach, Tachikoma from Ghost in the Shell and Tesshin Asano from the Wolverine anime.
