“Wargames Workshop MK Monday”

On Monday last week I went down to Wargames Workshop MK to play a game of Warmachine/Hordes. I had a game against Brad to practice my army before the tournament on Saturday. He was using a Circle force. It looked like I was about to loss when I got a great opportunity to kill his Warlock which I took which won me the game. I am still worried about timed turns you my Dyspraxia and the number of figures, but as my Warjack heavy Convergence forces have not worked out well for me, I will have to go with the force I have now. I was planning on using this force at the tournament however I forgot to repack my Hunter after taking photos of it for last week’s post. Face palm. Anyway here is the force I used:

"Steam Roller Tournament"

On Saturday I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a Steam Roller tournament (Warmachine/Hordes). As I forgot to bring my Hunter, I had to redo the force I planned and here is my new force:

Captain Kara Sloan – PC -6 to Warjacks
Squire – PC 2
Cyclone Heavy Warjack – PC 9
Defender Heavy Warjack – PC 9
Stormsmith Stormcaller – PC 1
Black 13th Gun Mage Strike Team – PC 4
Arcane Tempest Gun Mage Pistoleers – PC 6
Arcane Tempest Gun Mage Officer – PC 2

In the first round I was up against a Minions play (focus on Gatorman). In the second round I was up against a Cygnar player. In the third round I was up against another Cygnar player. In the fourth and final round I was up against a Khador player (with ten tons of armour). I lost all four games, however I was close to winning the second round. Just needed to do another two or three damage to the Warcaster. Beep. After the final game Ian and a couple of other people talked about ways to improve my force. Ian gave me a list of figures to look at. I have also did some research on Sunday and I have some ideas.

First there are two things I need to get, both are Mercenaries. These are "Greygore Boomhowler and Co" and "Reinholdt, Gobber Speculator". Next I need to paint them and "Captain Jonas Murdoch". Then I need to decide which Heavy Warjack to go with, an "Avenger" or a "Defender". Both have their pros and cons.

The Avenger has a 4" blast that Knocks Down the target if hit on the range weapon, a better melee weapon and a better MAT value.

The Defender has a little bit better damage value on the range weapon, a much better RAT value, the range value of the range weapon is a lot better, a better Move value, a better threat range due to the greater range/movement and I already own one.

"Painting and Converting"

For this post I have for you all are three Regult battle pods from RoboTech.

On Friday's post I should have for you all three Regult battle pods from RoboTech and Shang from Maliflux. I managed to finish painting last week twenty-one bits of BattleZone terrain stuff and seven Arcadia Quest figures. I also undercoated some more BattleZone terrain, Arcadia Quest figures and Zombicide figures as well. Below is an image of my painting table at the end of last Sunday night (or the start of Monday morning).

Events: Posted that week’s "Gaming News from Neoscream” post and work .

Saturday

Watched: That week’s episode of Weekenders.

Events: Off work due to being at a Warmachine tournament at Wargames Workshop. No coffee due to the tournament. After the tournament I went to a pub crawl to celebrate a friends birthday.

Sunday

Watched: That week’s episode of Weekenders XLBS, episode 35 of Cardfight Vanguard G and episodes 1 to 4 of Sword Art Online.

Events: Off work.
