Gaming News from Neoscream: 31st October 2014

Welcome to “Gaming News from Neoscream”. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs, some card games and computer games.

“Gaming News”

First of is the HeroClix news. This week we got previews of (for HCRealms): Simon Baz from DC War of Light and Captain Britain from the Marvel Monthly prize support..

Now for the Dragon Tides KickStarter. Since last week they have manage to fund the project and unlocked: The playable character Cindy Fairchild added to Jade Dragon level and above; 21 Henchmen minis (but just one sculpt) added to Jade Dragon level and above; and the four character Fairytale Universe add-on set.
This major speed up in funding is most likely due to the “Beasts of War” coverage on last week’s Weekenders.
Now as the game has finally be funded, here are the stretch goals that are still going: Four foil Character Combo Cards will be added to all tier levels (with physical rewards) at $50k; a prequel storyline with a double-side location board and tokens will be added to all tier levels (with physical rewards) at $55k; the character Lion Sloane will be added to Jade Dragon level and above as well as the Level 99 Games character Cherri Senca as an add-on at $60; the character Colt Booker will be added to Jade Dragon level and above as well as the Soda Pop Miniatures character Candy Kunoichi as an add-on at $70; the character Casey Storm will be added to Jade Dragon level and above as well as the Greater Than Than Games character The Operative as an add-on at $80; the characters Phoenix Lim, Pasqual and Muscles Hawk (Jackie Chan) as part of an expansion at $90k; the character Ferdinand Bucks will be added to Jade Dragon level and above as well as the Marrow Production (Journey: Wrath of Daemons) character Zhi Lan as an add-on at $100; and the character Osar Kham will be added to Jade Dragon level at $110k.

Next is the new version Paranoia news. Last Friday Mongooses Publishing started the KickStarter for the all new version Paranoia. The classic RPG of a darkly humorous future; Rebooted by James Wallis to be faster and even easier to play.
Over the week they managed to: Fund the game; The Mutant Explosion deck; the Office CPU Form Pack; and The Adventure pack Ultraviolent by John Wick.
The Stretch Goals that still going on: A Secret goal at £100k; and the Secret Society expansion deck at £120k.

Now for the Mantic news. PDF’s of the final version of the main rulebook and the Compendium for Mars Attacks have been sent to all backers. The Compendium also comes with the rules for the thirteenth Dreadball team, the Martian team. They seem interesting, but a bit too similar to the Verr-meen team in states.
All the Martian Giant Robots are sorted now so the last bunch of backer stuff are on it way (or should be soon).
We also got finished painted image of the Reb team for DreadBall and they have revealed that backers will be able to pick up their DreadBall Xtreme wave one stuff at the Mantic Open Day just before it starts shipping. This sadly means that it will not start shipping until December as the Open Day is on Saturday 29th of November.

Next is the Wireless Power Board Game Terrain and Miniature Lighting KickStarter. Sadly it is still being funded, however they have added a bunch of new backer levels and add-ons.

Now for the Crooked Dice Games news. A new supplement for 7th Voyage is coming out soon (if not now) to celebrate Hallowing called “The Witching Hour”. It will be covering Gothic horror and folklore and will have rules for things like witch hunters, stock monsters, headless horsemen and lots more in a 32 page PDF.

Next is the Stonehaven Miniatures news. We got four more green from the Half-Orc Adventurers and some more coloured images of the Pop-Up Miniature Terrain Kit.

Now for the Kingdom Death news. There was a new update this week. All the core armour sets are in and from what I have seen they look fantastic. They also showed off the finished card tokens for the game too. Oh and we got a write up of one of the beta game.

Lastly is the current Hasslefree Miniatures Sculpting Contest news. Still no more news from them yet.

“KickStarter Dates”

·         “Kingdom Death Monster”, “Mechabrick”, wave two of “Robotech RPG Tactics”, wave two of “DreadBall Xtreme” and wave two of “Journey Wrath of Daemons” have all been delay due to problems and currently have no dates on when these will shipping, but I willing to bet they will be sometime in 2015

“Painting and Converting”

This week things are back to normal. This week I have for you a second Pinup Saviour, two Ice Prawns, an Ice King, an Ice Queen and the MVP Blaine.

This week's figures front view
This week's figures rear view
This week's Loka figures
The MVP Blaine
My second Pinup Saviour. The colour scheme  was based on someone I know, however I will not be saying their name as sadly I could not get the skin or hair tone right at all. The same problems I have with my figures based on AJ Lee. (plus is in a bit shiny too)
Here it is next to my first one
Celebrating 20 Kingdom Death figures painted
A closer look look at row one
A closer look at row two
A closer look at row three
A closer look at row four

Next week there should be a Ver-Meen Keeper, four Ver-Meen Players, a Prone Z’zor player, a Workerdroid, Apothecary and a Primitive

I have finish paining the Wet Nurse and started work on a base for it and its Slaves. I have also finished the Elven Ice Queen, Elven Swan Magus, the swans, X Jr and the Martian team (minus prone tokens). I am now currently working on three X-Guard members and two Rebs.

Neoscream's Life: 21st to 27th October 2014

Labrys
Welcome to the Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of some of the things I have done during last week and news on the great Geek Goddess, AJ.

First off I like to talk about some changes to the “Neoscream’s Life” that have been going on for a month (or two) and changes that are starting today due to the past changes. In the past I use to write the post as it was the current week. A while age I changed it to the past temps as I post it on a Tuesday morning and knew most people would read it later as well.
However I had still done the “Watch, Listen and Read” section in “This week’s” and “Last week’s”, which was fine with weekend show like Wekenders, but terrible for shows like WWE Raw which airs on a Monday. Because of this I have changed it to “This week’s” to “That week’s” and “Last week’s” to “The previous week’s” (was not used in this post).

Gundam Build Fighter Try
“Life”

For most of the week, work has been crap but a bit more liveable. But on Friday I wanted to finish ten/fifteen minutes early as I wanted to speak to Shenell before she started about a story I asked her to read last week (I might start posting it here at a later date) plus I wanted to worn her about something. I thought it would be fine as most of the other counter staff who were in finished at eight and ten and I started at least two hours before them. However at about just gone 4:30 the manager let both the eight o'clock people finish and the ten o'clock person to go on a second break. Beep. Beep. Beep. When the ten o'clock person, came back from break, Aura the new manager had a quite word with me to find out why I was upset. The reason why they ended up finishing before me was that they were moaning to finish early all day (just like every day) while I was waiting unit 4:45 to ask if I could go then as we “had” the stuff and if was only fifteen minutes. I was not too happy at first but over time I did feel better with work by Saturday from talking to her. Anyway I ended up finishing at five to which ended up being too late as Shenell had just clock in and needed to have important works with Aura about next Saturday (which was the thing I wanted to worn her about). I will not be going over this as it is not my personal problem and I should not make it my problem, but I am on Shennel’s side over it.

Life is tough and feels lonely, but I just have to keep on going. I have applied for a bunch of new jobs during the week as well. Sadly there has been no real relies yet. This is always the way sadly.

Lastly is the current Hasslefree Miniatures Sculpting Contest news. Sadly still no bill or news at the moment. This means that one of my ideas is useless now as I cannot get a set painted by the end of October for a birthday gift for Shenell. C'est La Vie. There is always Christmas like with everyone else. Damn it I revealed why I brought a ton of extra copies.

"AJ and the WWE"

AJ and Alicia Fox had two matches against each other last week. The first one was on Raw. AJ sadly lost the match due to Paige interfering. The second match was on Smackdown. Paige tried interfering in the match again, but AJ managed to counter in by throwing Alicia Fox into Paige. They clashed heads and AJ got the win.

Like normal the Hell in the Cell pay-per-view will be covered in next week’s post.

Gaming with Neoscream: 26th October 2014

Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”. This is my weekly gaming report and event write up post for miniature games, RPGs, card games and computer games.

“This Week's Events”

On Thursday this week I went to York House for HeroClix. This week’s scenario was "The Dark Knight". (400 points. One figure must be ever Joker or a Batman that is ever an Experience or under 175 point. Figures you used from the “Batman Begins” scenario cannot be used.) I built a Batman team with the Dick Grayson Batman, however I stupidly forgot to add a Robin.
On the first round I was up against Adrian who was using a non-themed team. Sadly I did not win but Adrian could not kill my whole team as the Question was the last one left of my team with Batman and Robin faced down upon her when time ran out. Also Darren S won his game against Michael.
On the second round I was up against Michael who was using a Justice League themed team. I was worried about the stealth busting of this team, I targeted Supergirl first. Luckily Michael left her in the open so I was able to destroy her first and then the rest fell like dominos. Also Darren S won his game against Adrian.
On the third and final round I was up against Darren S who was using an Arkham Asylum themed team. Like normal Darren won this game. The map he choose did not help me at all. Also Adrian won his game against Michael.
Next week will be a "Halloween Special". 666 points (the house rules for extra points for themed teams is NOT in play). Half of the team must have ever the Monster keyword or are Halloween themed.

“Armies”

Here is my Gotham City themed HeroClix team:

Batman (031 DC 75th Anniversary) 77
Deadshot (005 DC 75th Anniversary) 89
Nightwing and Batgirl (100 DC Batman) 176
The Question (004 DC Arkham Asylum) 37
Spoiler (003 DC Legacy) 22
=401 points and four TTPC’s.

Here is Adrian’s non-themed team:

Batman (058 DC Batman) 152
Oracle (025 DC Batman Alpha) 50
Robin (013 DC Crisis) 79
Red Hood (017 DC Crisis) 81
Question (034 DC Origins) 40
=402 points and four TTPC’s.

Here is Michael’s Justice League themed team:

Geo-Force (046 DC Batman) 157
Batman (001 DC Batman) 100
Supergirl (DC Superman) 100
Mindwarp (015 DC Justice League) 45
=402 points and four TTPC’s.

Here is Darren S’s Arkham Asylum themed team:

Hired Henchman (006a DC Batman) 40
Hired Henchman (006b DC Batman) 40
Mr. Freeze (048 DC Batman) 118
The Batman of Zur-En-Arrh (103 DC Batman) 153
Calendar Man (020 DC Batman Streets of Gotham) 52
=403 points and four TTPC’s.

“Future Events”

These are local gaming events in Milton Keynes I know of, Guardians of Tyr events at Wargames Workshop Northampton and other events I plan on going to or want to advertise.

·         On Tuesdays at Wargames Workshop MK it is Card games night (or is it just Magic the Gathering).
·         On Thursdays York House in Stony Stratford is open from Wargamers and Boardgamers.
·         On Fridays at Wargames Workshop MK it is Friday Night Magic.
·         On Sundays, Wargames Workshop MK is now open. It will be for role-play and board games day on every Sunday apart from the last Sunday of the month which will be s Magic the Gathering day.
·         On Tuesday 28th of October, Guardians of Tyr will be running a Marvel Avengers vs X-Men Dice Masters tournament.
·         On Thursday the 30th of October, there should be HeroClix at York House in Stony Stratford. It will be a Halloween special scenario.
·         On Saturday the 1st of November, Guardians of Tyr will be running a Star Wars X-Wing tournament at Wargames Workshop MK.
·         During Monday nights in November, Guardians of Tyr will be running a Bolt Action league.

For rules for Guardians of Tyr tournaments and leagues as well as information on pre booking your place in tournament. Pre booking is highly recommended so they know how many people are coming. So please go to their website which there is a link to it under my links section which are located on the right hand side of this blog.

York House has a £3 on the day gaming fee and a £5 fee for a year’s membership. However the first day is free and they only take yearly membership fee at the start of the year. The Hall officially opens at 7PM, but normally people start arrived 15 to 20 minutes early.

Until next time, Keep Rolling.

Gaming News from Neoscream: 24th October 2014

Welcome to “Gaming News from Neoscream”. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs, some card games and computer games.

“Gaming News”

First of is the Privateer Press news. With Warmachine Tactics we get a update that the full game should be ready by next month. However backers have or be getting today some of the bonus content by end of today. I got mine early Wednesday morning.

Next is the HeroClix news. This week we got previews (thanks to HCRealms unit section) of: The Flash, Max Mercury, Central City Police Captain, A.R.G.U.S. Researcher, Captain Boomerang, Rag Doll and Gorilla City Commander from DC The Flash Gravity Feed.

Now for the Dragon Tides KickStarter. Sadly it is still not funded yet. I will leave the stretch goals until the game is funded, but they do look very nice.

Next is the new version Paranoia news. Do not forget that the KickStarter will/has started today.

Now for the Mantic news. I got my Mars Attacks KickStarter stuff in the post on Saturday. Now all I am waiting for are the rules for the Martian Team for normal DreadBall.

Next is the Mechadrome Heavy Metal Combat news. Due to all the stuff being ready ahead of time, shipment had started this week. WTF! A KickStarter that is ahead of time by about two months. However due to problems with the arms and the fact that they are still waiting on the rulebooks to arrive, has delayed remaining orders from shipping by two weeks.

Now for the StarCrawlers news. They manage to get some extra funding and because of this the game is being pushed back to February 2015 instead of November 2014. Not only that, but the game story is being split into episodes which only episode one will be in the February release. However, backers with beta access will get the beta version in November.

Next is the Demigods Rising news. We got some more CAD and 3D rendering images of figures this week. All looking wonderful. I am glad that the Ice and Fire elements do look a bit different to one and other. Also as I was posting this the Pledge Manager as gone live.

Now for the Ninja Division news. With Robotech RPG Tactics looking around the net people have been getting their stuff and some have been painting them. I have see an awesome black Valkyrie paint job that I might use on a unit.
On real Robotech RPG Tactics news, container three arrived in the warehouse this week, letting them ship a ton more (and still shipping). Both containers four and five are in the USA, however four will not arrive to the warehouse until the end of next week (if customs let it) and five might arrive to the warehouse in the first full week of November. Containers six, seven and eight are all at sea and nine should leave China on Sea on Monday.

Next there is another new KickStarter I will be following called "Wireless Power Board Game Terrain and Miniature Lighting". (I posted a video late yesterday from the KickStarter.) This is basically light up (and moving) dungeon terrain that is powered with out wires (apart from the one plugged into the mat) and no batteries. I really love the look of this terrain and idea and would like to see a Sci Fi terrain using it. You can back it as a developer to get development kits to build your own from strack (most of the backer levels) or as a dungeon (just one level and a ton of add-ons).
It is still being funded.

A new look Games Workshop
Now for a bit of Games Workshop news. They have re-brand a small number of their stores to Warhammer. They have done this to see if this will improve sales in those stores and fine it work they will most likely rename all their stores and the company to Warhammer with rumours of Black Library and maybe Forge World being renamed to have Warhammer in the name.

Next is the Cool Mini or Not news. There is a new Zombicide mission on the Zombicide website called "Hot Property".

Now for the Guild Ball news. Shipment has been push back a month. This is due to them wanting to run more play tests of the rule as production is running on time.

One of the Guild Ball players
Next is the Crooked Dice Games news. I cannot remember if I ever said, but they are currently working on a second edition of 7TV.

Lastly is the current Hasslefree Miniatures Sculpting Contest news. They are now more delays due to a major house room. The will only be packing and shipping twice a week until it is all done.

“Painting and Converting”

This week things are back to normal. This week I have for you two Zombie Dog, five Standard Zombie Walkers, a Standard Zombie Runner, the other half of the Satan Twins and the Pinup Preacher.

This week's figures front view
This week's figures rear view
This week's Zombicide figures
The new wave of Zombie Dogz
The second half of the Satan twins
The Satan Twins together
Pinup Preacher
A weird gif Google made of some of the Kingdom Death photos

Next week there should be a Pinup Saviour (my 20th Kingdom Death figure to be painted), two Ice Prawns, an Ice King, an Ice Queen and the MVP Blaine.

I have done a little bit of painting. If you remember the painting board photo from the last day of the Warmachine/Hordes league painting contest, I had a Great Game Hunter Pinup, a Wet Nurse, a Wet Nurse slave, the Elven Ice Queen and the Elven Swan Magus on my active line. I have finished both the Great Game Hunter Pinup and the Wet Nurse slave and the three swans have been moved up to replace them. Also a lot has been done to the others. Man the Wet Nurse looks scary. I will TRY to do these painting updates more often in the future.

Until next time, Keep Rolling.
