Neoscream's Life: Christmas Week 2014

Koromaru from Persona 3
Welcome to the Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of some of the things I have done during last week and news on the great Geek Goddess, AJ.

“Life”

On Monday I went to the cinema to watch the new Hobbit movie with Darren H, Richard and Roxy. Also before it me, Richard and Roxy also had dinner out beforehand at Revs. It was a great night out with my friend.

Work felt very uncomfortable during the start of the week due to the stuff that happened last week. But Christmas Eve was a real good day, I will not go into details way. OK, I could name several things that would have made the day even better, however it was still a great day. I wish that there were more days like that. Friday felt like there was still a lot of tension, but the weekend was better most of the time. At a guess I just found a way to avoid it. The only real problem on Sunday was that it felt that there was no me in team. Most people helped everyone else out than me and when I try to help people out (especially ones I class as friends) and they do not want my help (even when management tell me to help them). It was really getting annoying. I will leave it as that as if I go on I might be going into too much details and take too much time writing it.

Matis from Persona 3
I do feel a little disappointed with my co-workers on top of all this. I got all of them Christmas cards and gifts and only the Area Manager got my something. I know not all of them celebrate Christmas and I was not expecting much, but not even a single card from anyone did felt a bit hurtful (on top of a couple other things that I will not be covering).

Like normal I sent Christmas day watching TV with my parents, however I did also work on blog posts too. Like the Christmas day post, Friday's "Gaming News from Neoscream" post and this post too.

I will be changing the ending of my posts from the start of the New Year like I do every year. Here is a little history of the ending. In 2010 it was “Until next time enjoy”, in 2011 it was “Until next time, have fun”, in 2012 it was “Until next time, Mecha up”, in 2013 it was “Until next time, Armour Up” and in 2014 it is currently “Until next time, Keep Rolling”. What will it be in 2015? Excelsior! No that is the comic book God Stan Lee. Ummmm!!! I will have to do some thinking.

"AJ and the WWE"

Sadly there was no AJ the previous week and last week. She is most likely spending the holiday time with her husband CM Puck, getting him ready for UFC next week. I have a strong feeling there will be no AJ this week too.

Gaming News from Neoscream: Boxing Day 2014

Welcome to “Gaming News from Neoscream”. This is my weekly gaming news post for miniature games, RPGs, some card games and computer games. I hope everybody had a Merry Christmas.

“Gaming News”

First off is the Privateer Press news. They have release a list of new releases for March which will be a quite month for them The releases will be Iron Kingdoms Unleashed Roleplaying Game Adventure Kit, the Warmachine All-in-One Army Box for Protectorate of Menoth, a redo of the Khador Unit Kossite Woodsmen, the Hordes All-in-One Army Box for Legion of Everblight; the Minion Gatorman Battle Engine Sacral Vault and issue 59 of No Quarter.
With Tactics new, they have now added a Warcaster and three Warjacks have been added the Mercenary. This has made it possible to use a pure Mercenary force in the game now.

Xmas Special Pinup Twilight Knight
Next is the new version Paranoia news. Playtest rules in PDF format is being sent out to backers at the right pledge levels.

Now for the Kingdom Death news. On Christmas Eve, they have added three new products to the store and restocked on three old productions on their web store. The new ones are Xmas Special Pinup Twilight Knight (unlimited stock until the end of the year), a set of Warlords (one Female, one Male) and Flower Witch (sold out). And the restock were Twilight Order Knight, Twilight Relic Knight and Deserter. The Xmas Special Pinup Twilight Knight comes with stuff to be used in Monster. It is a new piece of equipment called Axmas. I do plan on getting this.

The Retail version of Shark from Guild Ball
Next is the Guild Ball news. OK, I have been a bit bad with reporting about Guild Ball, but here is an update. They have posted CAD images of a couple of retail versions of Captains and a couple of the extra players that are not in the team sets. They have sculpted about 99% of the figures. However I have a strong feeling that they will not get everything done by January 2015.

Now for the Battle System news. They have revealed the Sci-Fi version of their Star Dimensional Gate from their Fantasy Dungeon KickStarter. I am so glad that I have ordered a set of them.

The Sci-Fi Dimensional Gate from Battle System
Next is the Mantic news. The pledge managers for both Kings of War Second Edition and Dungeon Saga: The Dwarf King’s Quest should be up online in the start of the New Year. Also about two thirds of Deadzone wave three has been shipped.

Now for the Yashima: Legend of the Kami Master news. Most of the stuff for the main box set is in production, however the extra stuff are taking longer than planned. They might have to push the shipment date or slit the shipment into two waves.

Next is the OVA news. Sadly the book is being delayed by the printers. So they are taking the time to make some changes like some layout adjustments, additional examples, text tweaks, and updates to several characters.

Now for the HeroClix news. Well no real news, I just wanted to say that sadly this year WizKids have not done the twelve days of ClixMas. It was always a great thing to see up and coming HeroClix and Dice Masters products.
Oh, there is a Yu-Gi-Oh contest happening on there websate to win the whole of wave two of the HeroClix stuff, a ton of DVDs and a Blu-Ray. Sadly it it OWN open to people living in the USA.

Lastly for a bit of other gaming related news. If you had not checked the "KickStarter Dates" section last week, Bubblegum Crisis Ultimate Edition Blu-Ray Set had started shipping. On Monday of this week, I received my copy. Why do I have this under gaming while it is Anime based news? Because in comes with ta PDF copy of the old RPG version on the discs too.

I will leave what I will be doing as a New Year surprise.

Christmas, Special Gifts and Loot Crate December 2014 (updated)

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY

Figure 1
Eight special people received a very special, personal gift. Here is the history of this special gift. Everybody who received this special gift got this.

Why back in 2012, Hasslefree Miniature started a Sculpting Competition. The rule where:
Figure 2

  1. You must use the female armature HFL503 (Figure 1) as a basis for your sculpt.
  2. The Final piece must be able to be cast-able in metal by us. This means you will need to use epoxy putties like Greenstuff or Milliput plus you can add other items like guns or parts of other figures. Fimo is not advised as it can crumble under the pressure exerted on it when a mould is being vulcanised.
  3. You must agree that the Final Piece that you submit will be sent to HF for production and you will relinquish all rights to reproduce that piece for personal use or for profit.
  4. People who enter the contest (but only once regardless of how many entries they enter) will receive a set of a metal copy of the winning entries (resin instead of metal ones), a copy in metal of their stuff that gets produced in metal, vouchers for the winners and runner ups and 20% off an order (which was added just before they started shipping the prizes.

Figure 3
I decided to enter the competition to see how well I would do. I manage to pick up four armatures to use. I based each of them on characters from several sources, make sure to do some changes to copy right characters to not break any copy rights.

The first one was based on Lily Rain Eve from an online computer game CosmicBreak (Figure 2). I dropped the shoulder less sleeves (or at least that is what I think they are), hair decorations and weapon. This makes her able to fit into other things like a Martial Artist. This finished green in show in Figure 3. Here is some background of the character:
Not much is known about Lily Rain other than she is an Angel Force member. It's possible that she is a Neet because she is often seen lazing around with domestic technology. It also supports the fact that she doesn't go directly into battle. Then one day her friend were being attack and she was wounded. An ancient, sentient weapon known as E.V.E. answered Lily's call for help. Turning her into Lily Rain Eve.”

Figure 4
He second was based on Kallen Stadtfeld/Kouzuki from the anime Code Geass (Figure 4). Again I dropped the shoulder less sleeves, however I added short sleeves to her red to. I also did not do her headband as I was worried that it might be a pain to do. I do wish now I tried it. The main reason I did this character was that I was making a team based on the Black Knights from Code Geass for a miniatures game called 7TV. I was trying to find a figure I could convert (modify) and with the contest I decided try to do her. This finished green in show in Figure 5. Here is some background of the character from Wiki:
“Kallen Stadtfeld is half-Britannian, half-Japanese, but believes herself to be a Japanese person at heart and prefers to be known by her mother's maiden name, Kouzuki. Her father is Britannian and her mother is an Eleven; her father comes from a prestigious Britannian family, which Kallen benefits from. She attends the Ashford Academy, where she later becomes a member of its student council and is one of its most outstanding students. Her brother, Naoto Kouzuki, with whom she had a deep connection, was a former leader of her resistance cell before his death.
Figure 5
Both Kallen's stepmother, a Britannian, and biological mother live with her in the same house, but her biological mother is employed as a maid and is often mistreated by both her stepmother and Kallen herself. After her biological mother is arrested for using Refrain (a fictional drug which lets people think they're reliving the past), Kallen changes her views and decides to fight against the Britannian Empire not only for her brother, but to fulfill her new wish for a world in which she can live happily with her biological mother.
Kallen leads a double life as a normal Britannian student and as a member of a guerrilla resistance group against Britannia, which is later reformed into the Order of the Black Knights by Lelouch Lamperouge. In school, she portrays herself as a weak-bodied high school student who obeys all of the formalities, and goes by her Britannian name of Stadtfeld. However, her personality changes into a very strong-willed and forceful one when she acts as a resistance fighter.”

Figure 6
The third was a Silicon character from some of my old stories, Shen the Silicon Lorddess of Lust. This was major redo of her. As the original designs (that came from a dream from 15 or more years ago). Her original design was of a female in yellow spandex with golden boxes over her shoulders that came from ever the shoulders or her back. The boxes had large symbols engraved in them. Now a days she is a sharp shifter with an internal skeleton (skin shifter might be a better description than sharp), changing her look to blind in or for what she needs, for example combat look I model her in. This finished green in show in Figure 6.

Figure 7
The fourth was a character based on the Start Trek online game I briefly played called Izrei Rasesay (Figure 7). She was the Trill Science Officer of the star ship(s) my character commanded. Sadly this figure was near finish in time as I had a major problem with one of the hands. Sorry I do not have any pictures of the greens on me.

Figure 8
The entries were stent off to them around Christmas time 2012. Sadly due to problems their end the polls for voting never come up until the end of September 2013. The winners were not reviled until the end of October 2013. Sadly none of my entries won, however they sadly the might product some of the non-winning entries in metal (but it does not mean that they will be released to the general public). Figure 8 shows all the winners from the Contest.

In October this year I got an email from them saying that at least one of my entries were being produced in and not long after that it was revealed that the figure based on Kallen Stadtfeld/Kouzuki and the figure based on Lily Rain Eve were going to be produced in metal and people who entered the contest would be able to order extra copies. I decided to order nine extra copies of each to make it ten copies of each. I set I planned to keep unpainted to display somewhere with the greens, one set for gaming and the other eight sets I decided to paint up and give as Christmas presents to eight special friends. I will not be listing the people who got these, however the version of this that they got did have a list so they will know. Figure 9 shows finish painted nine sets. The Two figures on special bases on the left edge are my set.

Figure 9

Now that is over and done there is another thing I wanted to talk able. On Tuesday I received my December 2014 Loot Crate. I was plan on posting pictures of the content on Tuesday or yesterday, but never got around to it. So I decided to merge it with this special Christmas post.

It had an excursive POP! Joker Batman, an excursive cover Batman comic, Groot socks, a paper Simson's Wallet, a Captain America car freshener, a Ghost Busters door notice, Tetris sticker set, a free 30 day trial of Crunchyroll and the monthly badge and mag, as well as a couple of other minor bits. This was a great crate. The Joker Batman and Groot shocks are AWESOME. However I do not think this crate lived up the HUGE hype that it was getting compared to past crates I have seen. Here is an unboxing video of the Loot Crate from Shadypenguinn.

Until next time have a Merry Christmas and Keep Rolling.

Neoscream's Life: 15th to 21st December 2014

Shinjiro Aragaki from Persona 3
Welcome to the Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of some of the things I have done during last week and news on the great Geek Goddess, AJ. I am doing two Persona 3 characters this week and next week as opening pictures to get them all out of the way. What will I replace them with and what will be the new ending phase with next year, I have not decided yet (and barely have any ideas).

“Life”

(I will reply this one more time) I would like to make this statement first before going into things. PEOPLE! If you are going to make judgement about the post(s), READ the post properly FIRST. I am saying this as in the post from five weeks ago, I talked about a nightmare that I had. I clearly stated it was a nightmare, however people I know for work only read parts of it, not the whole thing and were saying I was bitching about people and talking about things happening at work. I was just saying what happened in a nightmare, not what happen in work or bad mouthing anybody. I have always tried to do my best to not to going into detail on what happens at work and I rarely bad mouth people, and when I do I do my best not to use names (unless it has to do with the WWE, beeping Bella Twins). So PLEASE READ the whole thing before making judgements.

Ken Amada
This past week I have been busy with Christmas again. I got all the wrapped, done cards written and most of them give out, apart from several work colleagues, Jake's main gift and Simon and his family.

For most of the week work was OK, apart from the news for the Sunday before I heard on Monday (which I talked about on last week’s post) and a minor thing that happened on Friday that I will not going into. There was a VERY last moment Christmas dinner on Monday (the second Christmas celebration the store has had in all the time I have been working there). It was being planned for at least a couple of week. But as of the Sunday before there was still no date or time. Then at about 4PM on Monday, they reviled that they will be doing the dinner on that day at about 8/8:30PM. Four hours noticed. At first I did not want to go as I had made other plans and because of what I learnt about what happened Sunday. However I did change my mind as it was Christmas and that it was the second ever Christmas celebration during all the years I have been working there. However due to communication problem I ended up not go I sticking to my original plans, going to Wargames Workshop MK. By the sound of things the turnout was poor and in was not much fun.
However on Sunday several things happened what really pissed me off. People being stupid, bullying and people thinking that they are above the rules. Over than what I said I will not be going into any more details sadly, however I will be have words with the manager when they are back from sickness.

On Friday I meet up with a bunch of my mate for some drinks before Christmas. There was a huge turnout and it was really good seeing everybody before Christmas, even Roxy. But sadly the person who was organising it could not come as their work place changed there hours.

"WWE TLC and Stairs"

Here are the results of this year's WWE TLC pay-per-view:

The New Day members Big E and Kofi Kingston defeated Gold and Stardust in a tag team match.
Dolph Ziggler defeated WWE Intercontinental Championship Luke Harper in a Ladder match to become the new WWE Intercontinental Championship.
The Usos defeated the Tag Team Champions The Miz and Damien Mizdow by disqualification in a Tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Sadly as it was by disqualification the titles never changed hands.
The Big Show defeated Erick Rowan in a Steel Stairs match.
John Cena defeated Seth Rollins in a Tables match. Had Cena lost the match, he would have no longer been the number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. There was a ton of interference in this match. J and J Security and the Big Show were helping Seth, however a returning ex friend of Seth's came out to destroy Seth's plan on winning.
The fake WWE Diva's Champion Nikki Bella defeated AJ Lee in a Singles match for the WWE Divas Championship. Brie Bella tried to Interfere, but the Ref noticed. However while the Ref was busy with kicking her out from ringside, Nikki pulled out what looks like a small can of hair spray and sprayed it into AJ’s eye. This lowdown move cost AJ the match.
Ryback defeated Kane in a Chairs match
The WWE United States Champion Rusev defeated Jack Swagger again by knockout in a Singles match for the WWE United States Championship.
That Arkham escapee Bray Wyatt somehow defeated Dean Ambrose in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match.

"AJ and the WWE"

Sadly I have not had the chance to which ever Raw or Smackdown last week. So I will have to leave a write up of what AJ did on them until next week. However it looks like she was not on them at all this week. She maybe still having her eyes wash out due to what that bitch Nikki did on TLC.

Gaming with Neoscream: 21st December 2014

Welcome to “Gaming with Neoscream”. This is my (normally) weekly gaming report and event write up post for miniature games, RPGs, card games and computer games.

“This Week's Events”

On Monday I went to Wargames Workshop MK. Sadly I did not get a game, but I did get to see most of the guys I know from there before Christmas. I also got to see a game of Mars Attacks being played.

On Thursday this week I went to York House for HeroClix. This week was a Big Bash scenario. 1,200 points, five actions, all figures must have a common colour. Due to the scale and time we only had two games.
On the first round I was up against Adrian who was using a Green Lantern themed team. I got creamed. Also Darren S won his game against Michael.
On the second round and final round I was up against Darren S who was using a Sinestro Corps themed team. I sadly lost this game. Darren white washed me.
Over all it was a bad week for me. Never mind.
There will be no HeroClix for the next two weeks due to the holidays. When we back (or should be) on the 8th of January 2015 will be the third part of the Batman trilogy, “The Dark Knight Rises”. 500 points, the team must have a Batman of 200 points or less that you have not used so far in the trilogy OR Bane.

There will most likely be no post next week as there is no HeroClix and on other games planned for during the week

“Armies”

Here is my Green Lantern team for HeroClix this week:

Arisia (015 DC War of Light) 75
Soranik Natu (016 DC War of Light) 70
Graf Toren (027 DC War of Light) 170
Katma Tui (022 DC War of Light) 117
Kilowog (002 DC Green Lantern Fast Forces) 100

Kyle Rayner (038 DC 75th Anniversary) 169 + Justice League Silver Age (ATA) 4 = 173
John Stewart (046 DC 75th Anniversary) 169 + Justice League Silver Age (ATA) 4 = 155
Boodikka (017 DC War of Light) 75
=1,185 points and ten TTPC’s.

Here is Adrian’s Green Lantern team for HeroClix this week (I am snot 100% sure on the Constructs and I cannot remember who had which one apart from one):

Laira (020b DC War of Light) 113 + Green Lantern Honour Guard (ATA) 5 = 118
Katma Tui (022 DC War of Light) 117 + Green Lantern Honour Guard (ATA) 5 = 122
Saarek (024 DC War of Light) 101 + Green Lantern Honour Guard (ATA) 5 = 106
Hannu (043 DC War of Light) 160 + Green Lantern Honour Guard (ATA) 5 = 165

Green Nurse (R200.09 DC War of Light) 10
Green Decoy (R200.06 DC War of Light) 6
Green Scissors (R200.08 DC War of Light) 8
=1,110 points and eight TTPC’s.

Here is Darren S’s Sinestro Corps team for HeroClix this week (sadly I cannot remember who the 8th member of his team was and I am sure he had one or two more Constructs):

Lyssa Drak (021 DC War of Light) 91
The Weaponer of Qward (025 DC War of Light) 211
Bedovian (019 DC War of Light) 115
Mongul (023 DC War of Light) 165
Karu-Sil (037 DC War of Light) 95
Sinestro (101 DC War of Light) 250
Arkillo (110 DC War of Light) 170
?
Sinestro Corps Power Battery (R105 DC War of Light) 2
Sinestro Corps Ring (R305 DC War of Light) 4
Yellow Wall (R205.04 DC War of Light) 10
Yellow Scissors (R205.08 DC War of Light) 8
=1,121 (at least) points and eight TTPC’s.

Sadly I do not have Michael’s team as I never played. I know it was a red Avengers team with Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Spiderman, Thor and Doctor Strange. What version and if there were more I cannot remember. Sadly I stupidly forgot to take pictures of the teams this week which is the reason why I am having problems with these lists.

Wargames Workshop MK has a £2 gaming fee or £4 with a pack of Magic the Gathering cards unless it is a paid tournament run by Guardians of Tyr (not including High Command). Weekday events normally start “playing” at 7PM.

For rules for Guardians of Tyr tournaments and leagues as well as information on pre booking your place in tournament. Pre booking is highly recommended so they know how many people are coming. So please go to their website which there is a link to it under my links section which are located on the right hand side of this blog.

York House has a £3 on the day gaming fee and a £5 fee for a year’s membership. However the first day is free and they only take yearly membership fee at the start of the year. The Hall officially opens at 7PM, but normally people start arrived 15 to 20 minutes early.

Until next time, Keep Rolling.
