MK HeroClix, the 8th of March, Fury's Comeback

Mindless Ones on the attack
Welcome to another HeroClix MK. First off is the HeroClix news for the week. This week there were previews of Cardinal of the UTC and Cardinal Raker from the Marvel: Galactic Guardians main set; Quasar from the Marvel: Galactic Guardians - Annihilators Fast Forces; and Johann Schmidt and his alter ego Red Skull from the Marvel: Avengers Movies set. Also a poster for the next Marvel set was revived. Also I forgot to report last week that the Unit section on HCRealms also lists the dials for Skrull Assassin and Super Skrull from the Marvel: Galactic Guardians.

This week game was 300 points, Modern Age figures only. You can bring any number of teams you like. My first team was a little easy. I always wanted to try out a team of Mindless Ones and here is it:

3x Mindless One (005 Giant Size X-Men) 100 x 3 = 300
=300 points and two re-rolls.

Making a second team was a pain to find at first but here it is:

Roulette (014 Giant Size X-Men) 35 + Hellions (ATA) 3 = 38
Cyphe (012 Giant Size X-Men) 38 + Hellions (ATA) 3 = 41
Cannonball (022 Giant Size X-Men) 82 + Hellions (ATA) 3 = 85
Empath (014 Giant Size X-Men) 47 + Hellions (ATA) 3 = 50
Warpath (028 Web of Spider-Man) 70 + Hellions (ATA) 3 = 73
=287 points and two re-rolls.

Making the third team took forever, ever there was no enough figure due to being modern age, the team was too crap, I did not want to both Darren asking to borrow figures (which was not that often) or avoiding using to many figures I have used in the past as Darren was bitching about always see the same figures.

Hellions
Scorpion (032 Captain America) 76
Kitty Pryde (055 Captain America) 111
Nick Fury (23 Captain America) 109
=296 points and two re-rolls.

For some reason I really any feeling fedup with HeroClix from all this team building and re-analysing the Avengers Movie set. I almost felt like calling it off for at least this week, but I knew I would have to do the game next week. Also by several hours later I felt much better. On the first round I was up against Michael with my Mindless Ones. He was using a Fantastic Four themed team who were:

Mr. Fantastic (101 Secret Invasion) 100
Human Torch (103 Secret Invasion) 100
The Thing (104 Secret Invasion) 100
=300 points and two re-rolls.

The Mindless Ones struggled against the Thing, but manage to KO him near the end, but the damage was done to them and Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch finished them off. So I ended up losing this game. On the second round I was up against Darren with me Hellions. He was using a Gotham City themed team who were:

Batman (016 Arkham Asylum) 64
Robin (034 Arkham Asylum) 66
Deadshot (005 75th Anniversary) 89
Batman (031 75th Anniversary) 77
=296 points and two re-rolls.

Like normal Darren creamed my team. I should have used Cannonball's Move and Attack ability than Charge. Never mind. So that is two loses. On round third I was up against Adrian with my S.H.I.E.L.D. team. He was using a one man army team who was:

Superman (001 Superman) 300
=300 points and no re-rolls.

What can I say. It was "F"ing Superman. I might have done more than three clicks of damage if I did a couple of things differently, but he would have still won. But Kitty made sure he never used an object against me. As we still had lots of time at the moment, we decided to do two more rounds. I decided to stick with my S.H.I.E.L.D. team for both rounds. On the fourth round I was up against Michael again. He was using the same Fantastic Four team again. In this game I should have phased out of combat more often due to Mr. Fantastics double Preplex, but sadly I did not and I ended up losing this game. On the fifth and final round I was up against Darren again. This time he was using a S.H.I.E.L.D. themed team as well who were:

S.H.I.E.L.D. Specialist (004 Captain America) 37
S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent (005 Captain America) 37
Maria Hill (018 Captain America) 72
Falcon  (030 Captain America) 79
Captain America (040 Hammer of Thor) 72
=297 points and two re-rolls.

This was an interesting game. My team hid in a bunker until Captain America wasted an acting blowing up a wall. When he did Kitty phased up close with Scorpion.Sadly as Darren noticed the Poison on Scorpion, he had his forces take her out. Apart from KOing the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, things were going badly. Nick Fury was dropped down to his last click that had Regeneration and I rolled a 6 for Regeneration which put Nick back into the game. He took out both the S.H.I.E.L.D. Specialist and Falcon and heavily wounded Maria Hill before being KO'd. Ever tho I lost this game, it was a really enjoyable game due to Nick's comeback. Ok sadly I lost all three games this week, but it was enjoyable and that all that counts in games were there was no prize support.

Next week should be Land of the Giants. 600 point, four actions, everybody must have a least one character with the giant symbol.

Now for this week's DreamClix section. First I would like to point out I have been calling one of the combat values by the wrong name. I was calling the Speed value as Movement. Ok, it means more or less the same thing. From now on I will be calling by the right name. This week, due to the fact that them were no real Dial Designs two weeks ago, will be a little heavy on designs and a little lighter on ideas. This week I am doing ideas for the RX-78-2 Gundam (with Beam Rifle) from the original Mobile Suit Gundam, a pilot card for a generic Black Knights Pilot from Code Geass and Android 8 from Dragon Ball. But first I have five designs of Alita from Battle Angel Alita, a pilot card for Lelouch Lamperouge from Code Geass, Proto from Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex, Raye Penber from Death Note, Mumm-Ra powered up version from Thundercats and the Minions of Mumm-Ra team ability.

Next is the RX-78-2 Gundam (with Beam Rifle) from the original Mobile Suit Gundam. The RX-78-2 Gundam (aka Gundam) is the titular mobile suit of Mobile Suit Gundam. As part of the RX-78 Gundam series, it was built in secret on Side 7, the Gundam would turn the tide of war in favour of the Earth Federation during the One Year War. The unit was primarily piloted by Amuro Ray. The Gundam was incredibly advanced for its time. Built from lightweight Luna Titanium, its frame was both lighter than that of Zeon's mass-produced Mobile Suits and much sturdier, able to shrug off a Zaku's machine gun fire with little to no damage. Its offensive power was above and beyond that of the Zeon Zakus. The Gundam would engage in most battles with its Beam Rifle making it the first Mobile Suit to have firepower equivalent to a battleship beam cannon. In addition, it made use of two beam sabers, a blade of extremely hot plasma which could cut through any metal with ease. Those beam sabers could be extended into a spear-like beam javelin, which could be used to stab into an enemy from a longer distance than the blade of the saber would allow. The Gundam also used more conventional weaponry: it could be launched with a Hyper Bazooka, the Federation's answer to the bazookas used by Zeon's Zakus; in addition, its head was outfitted with a pair of small vulcan cannons, providing it with a last resort weapon as well as a way of attacking light-armored aircraft and vehicles without wasting ammo or energy from its more powerful armaments. It also made use of a very unconventional close-range weapon known as the Gundam Hammer -- a large weapon similar to a morning star which could be swung at enemies to deal crushing damage. The Gundam Hammer was eventually upgraded for use in space and outfitted with a number of verniers on the ball, and renamed to be the Hyper Hammer. Lastly, it wielded a large shield which would offer it a defense against enemy attacks that not even its Luna Titanium body could withstand without damage. Gundam pilot Amuro Ray would make use of the shield as a decoy in many battles, taking advantage of its size to fool the enemy into thinking he was charging at them, then attacking the enemy through the shield. In terms of technology, the Gundam was equipped with a sophisticated Learning Computer which would collect pilot and enemy data during skirmishes and allow the Gundam to operate more effectively. The data from the computer was used by the Federation to improve the controls of the Gundam's mass-produced form, the RGM-79 GM. In addition, it was upgraded by Federation technician Mosque Han shortly before the Battle of A Boa Qu to improve its reaction times, the joints of the Gundam were given a Magnetic Coating, based on the experimental procedure performed on the RX-78-3 "G-3" Gundam and later used Amuro's intended successor unit, the RX-78NT-1 Gundam "Alex". The Gundam makes use of the Core Block System implemented in the other V Project units. The torso of the Gundam is mostly hollow so that an FF-X7 Core Fighter may dock with it. This allows the pilot to jettison the legs and torso of the Gundam should the Gundam be too heavily damaged and gives the pilot a chance to escape from battle. Later, during Operation Odessa, the Gundam is given a support unit known as the G-Fighter. The two G-Fighters were designed to take advantage of the Gundam's modular system and diversify the Gundam's role in active combat. These modes ranged from the assault bomber G-Armor to the close combat support tank G-Bull. It should roughly be like the AGE-1 Gundam Normal from Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, but without the trait or special. The next Gundam UC idea should be a pilot card for the original Gundam pilot Amuro Ray.

Next is a pilot card for a generic Black Knights Pilot from Code Geass. This should follow the standard format of all the normal generic pilot card. Requirements should be the Black Knights keyword, no extra keywords should be given, no special or mecha abilities and the should have the Black Knights team ability. The next Code Geass idea should be a Tank.

Next is Android 8 from Dragon Ball. Being released from his cell, Android 8 is introduced by Ninja Murasaki, who intends to use him against Goku, after he and his brothers failed to defeat the much stronger Goku. However, 8 refuses to battle the child. When Murasaki threatens to detonate 8 via a remote control, Goku knocks the trigger out of his hand and knocks out Ninja Murasaki. Goku nicknames Android 8 "Eighter" (Hat-chan), and he becomes Goku's friend. When General White threatens the android with an ultimatum: kill Goku or the Jingle Village Chief will be shot, Goku decides to stop the torment by turning his back so that White may shoot him unopposed, and White shoots Goku, seemingly killing him. After witnessing his first friend get hurt, an enraged Android 8 punches White clean out of Muscle Tower's uppermost window. Afterward, Android 8 proceeds to destroy Muscle Tower, putting an end to at least part of the evil Red Ribbon Army. After eliminating the Army contingent in Jingle Village, 8 reveals that he discovered the Dragon Ball that the army was looking for and hid it, knowing that they intended to kill the villagers once it was found. Hearing this, the head of the village invites 8 to live among them, which he accepts. Before Goku leaves the village, Goku, Android 8, and Suno set out to remove the Android Bomb implanted in Android 8's chest. Suno informs Goku that they should visit Dr. Flappe, an expert in machines. After a brief confrontation with Ninja Murasaki, Dr. Flappe successfully removes the bomb. He should have Super Strength, Invulnerability and Toughness. He should have about five clicks of health of starting combat values of Speed 6, Attack 9, Defence 16, Damage 3 and Range 0. He should not have a team ability and the keywords Brute, Red Ribbon Army and Robot. The next Dragon Ball idea should be Colonel Silver.

Lastly is the DreamClix Dial Designs page update news. On Sunday there was a double update to the DreamClix Dial Designs page. There was not any new dials this week apart from an image version of the Soul Reaper team ability that is replacing the Bleach one. The update was only replacing old dial designs with new ones. There were several major changes. Some characters lost there keywords, all characters have lost the Teen keyword, a new keyword added as well as several other changes to specials and combat values. There should be an update this coming Sunday. In it I should be finishing off Bleach and adding two new Bleach dial designs. Here is the Soul Reaper team Ability:

Well that is it for this week. Until next time, Mecha Up.
