On
Saturday I stupidity miss judged the time and arrived for coffee an hour early.
So I popped into HMV and tried out Persona 4 Arena which was on demo. Someone
must have put it on story mode as the amount of text makes a Final Fantasy
intro look short. It took about half an hour of skipping text (when I can) to
get ro the first fight. For a beat hat has slightly put me off getting it.
Last
week at coffee we made a plan to go to the Films in the Park at Campbell Park
to watch Avengers at six to celebrate Darren's birthday. Richard like normal
turned up late, but nowhere near as late as normal. It was Darren who was very
late as he turned up doing Loki's attack on the Shield Heilcarrier. Due to the
weather we decided to go to the pub for a drink. We left just after Hawkeye
woke up as himself. We chat about bits and bobs and plans to hopefully we
should be going to Simon's next Saturday to play some Zombicide and other bits.
Next
is the Mantic news. On Monday the third and final DreadBall survey was sent out
and it had several surprises. First off the new stuff we somewhat know of
already, upgrade kits to make your Acrylic Pitches to an Ultimate DreadBall
patch. You can get the middle section with or without an extra arm (main patch
part) and you can get a MDF version too. Sadly there are no replaceable strike
zones or t-shirts this time round. Dozer has been moved from being an MVP to a
giant player but still maintains the $10 price instead of the $12 price of the
giants. Sweet that means I will be getting three giants now. And now the big
surprise, there are three brand new MVPs, Drake, James “The Vet” Syler and
Chris Nord. I posted images of two of them in last week’s post as I was worried
about space on this one. I take it that these were from the Man of the Match,
Most Valuable Player, Head Coach and Free Agent pledge levels and with the
extra money Mantic made from the other two DreadBall surveys, I am guessing
they must have decided to make half of them as standard Limited Edition figures
instead of a single figure/very limited run. Anyway as I have/will have all the
other MVPs, I will be picking up these guys. An image of MVP Wyn Greth'zki and
the DreadBall Mech have been posting and information of a rules change. "One of the exciting new rules is a
subtle change in the way the ball is fired into the arena. It's now fired out
at a much higher speed, meaning that standing on the launch line no longer
means you can try to catch it! Instead, you become the target of a Thrown Ball,
with more dice being rolled for the Throw the closer you are to the launcher.
This was great fun during playtesting - in a recent game, one of my Goblins
took a high-speed ball to the back of the head as the result of a The Ball
Shatters card... That's the joy of DreadBall!" On Friday in Mantic’s
weekly newsletter there was images of new sculpts from Gen Con for DreadBall
and the up and coming Mar Attacks game as well as rule and painted figure
for Penny Arcade's Gabe. Finally rules for him and a colour scheme.
He will now be the next MVP I will be painting.
Now
for the Warmachine and Hordes news. A preview of a Con Exclusive Steelsoul Keg
Protector was revealed. I really like the look of the Steelsoul Protector and
the Con Exclusive adds an Anime cuteness to the figure. I would love to get my
hands on one, but sadly it looks like I will not be able to s it is meant to be
a Gen Con Exclusive. Also a preview image of Silver Line Stormguard were
posted, sadly I do not know when these guys are coming out. However this will
be an upgrade kit for the standard Stormguard instead of new figures. On the
Tactics KickStarter side, the CGI image of Sturgis the Corrupted for the
computer game has been revealed. Also the survey for it should be out around
the middle of September.
Next
is the Crooked Dice Games news. The greens for next month’s releases have been
revealed this week. There will be a Minion Commander, a Minion
Administrator/Medic, a Minion HMG team, Balaclava heads and United Radionic
minion heads. They look great and I plan on ordering some for my Bond Villain
team and Dr. Goodman team in the future.
There
was no Robotech RPG Tactics news this week.
Now
for what AJ Lee has been up to this past week which was a busy one. OK back up
a bit I still have the week before Smackdown to clover. Both AJ and Big E
Langston were Miz's special on his talk show MizTV. AJ told the facts as they
are. Miz replied that the problem she has been having might be to do with her
than the other wrestlers. The only problem she has is what I would call a moth
to the flame syndrome. She keeps being drawn to guys that are not right for her
and she keeps getting emotional burnt. The small rat Dolph Ziggler and
"HULK SMASH" Kaitlyn came out to interfere. As the Miz was the host
of SummerSlam he decided to make a match, AJ and Big E verses Kaitlyn and Dolph.
And then Kaitlyn attacked AJ, Big E tried to get Kaitlyn to stop nicely and
then Dolph attacked Big E from behind. That is all what Dolph is good at,
attacking people from behind. AJ does not deserve all this miss treatment.
On
Raw this week Big E had a recorded message for Dolph saying that Dolph's time
is over. Also AJ and Big E had a mix gender match against Natalya and the Great
Khali. Sadly due to Hornswoggle's interference AJ lost. It should not be Big E
band from ringside as he never interfered with the Divas, it should be
Hornswoggle.
AJ
was on Main Event last week. She was supporting Big E in his match against
Justin Gabriel which Big E won. Sadly I have not watched it as it does not air
on UK TV. BUT we get the crappy Superstars.
AJ
was also on NXT in a n interview. Next week on NXT AJ will have a match against
one of the NXT Divas called Bayley. Bayley seems to be an AJ fan girl.
On
Smackdown last week AJ was in a tag team match with Layla El. They were up
against Kaitlyn and Natalya. The gody fabulous team of AJ and Layla won with AJ
pinning Kaitlyn.
Like
normal I will talk about the results of SummerSlam next week. However since
posting the last Neoscream’s Life I have learnt of two new matches. Natalya
verses Brie Bella. Both will have friends of their side, the cast of Total
Diva. I have a feeling this will turn into a six Diva tag match. Also U.S.
Champion Dean Ambrose of the Shield goes up against RVD (I am talking Rob Van
Dam and not the DreadBall MVP Rico Van Dien) in the Kickoff Match. By the sound
of things Dean will the other two members of the Shield by his side while RVD
will have Big Show and Mark Henry by his side. It would be nice to see RVD win
but I know the Shield will find a way to cheat. Oh and Triple H is now the
guess referee in John Cena’s and Daniel Bryan's match. I am betting Vince McMahon
will interfere somehow.
