MK HeroClix, the 5th of July, Rise of the Machines

Welcome to another MK HeroClix post. Sorry about be a little late with the post. I over slept and with a 11AM start at work, I did not have time to post it before work. First off is the HeroClix news for the week. This week there were previews of The Unspoken, Crystal and Taskmaster from Marvel Chaos Wars; and Aquaman from DC Justice League 52. Also the Star Trek Away Team figures are up on the Units section of HCRealms.

This week's game was Rise of the Machines (following a robotic film theme). 500 points, at least one character on your team must have the Robot keyword. Remembering Tony Stark's special (IT'S MINE - YOU CAN'T HAVE IT: Tony Stark modifies the defense value of adjacent friendly characters with the Armor or Robot keyword by +1. Tony Stark modifies the attack value of opposing characters with the Armor or Robot keyword by -1.), I decided to go for an Avengers team. For my Robot choose I when for Aaron Stack. I would have liked having the Marvel Chaos Wars stuff for a Ultron/Iron Man team, but that will have to wait until a month's time.

Captain America (001 Marvel Avengers Movie) 75
Tony Stark (209 Marvel Avengers Movie) 50
Aaron Stack (016 Marvel Giant Size X-Men) 106
War Machine (200 Marvel Hammer of Thor) 137
Scarlet Witch (057 Marvel Avengers) 35
Justice (030 Marvel Supernova) 94
=497 points and four re-rolls.

On the first round I was up against Darren. He was using a Sinestro Corps theme team who were:

Manhunter Grandmaster (102 DC Superman) 172
Scarecrow (003 DC The Blackest Night) 85
Lyssa Drak (046 DC Arkham Asylum) 72 + Brilliant Tactician (Feat) 20 = 92
Sinestro (055 DC Crisis) 146
= 495 points and four re-roll.

Darren's team spelled double trouble from the start. It was Darren and the team was cheesy Sinestro Corps. They ripped my team to pieces. I ended up losing. Also Michael won his game against his brother Adrian. On the second round I was up against Adrian.  He was using an Agents of Atlas theme team who were:

Jimmy Woo (005 Marvel Hammer of Thor) 46
Marvel Boy (007 Marvel Hammer of Thor) 102
M-11 (010 Marvel Hammer of Thor) 59 + Automatic Regeneration (Feat) 12 + Vendetta (Feat) 6 = 77
Namora (024 Marvel Hammer of Thor) 76
Gorilla-Man (029 Marvel Hammer of Thor) 61
Venus (052 Marvel Hammer of Thor) 125 + Stunning Blow (Feat) 10 = 135
=497 451 points and four re-roll.

Jimmy Woo was crossed out as he was ment to be in the team, but Adrian could not find him in the last minute. He choose Captain America as the target for M-11's Vendetta, however his team fell to pieces against mine with M-11 being the first victim. I Ended up winning that game without losing a figure. Also Darren won his game against Michael. On the third and final round I was up against Michael. He was using a S.H.I.E.L.D. themed team who were:

S.H.I.E.L.D. Specialist (004 Marvel Captain America) 37
2x S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent (005 Marvel Captain America) 37 x 2 = 74
Maria Hill (018 Marvel Captain America) 72
Steve Rogers (031 Marvel Captain America) 99
S.H.I.E.L.D. Field Agent (203B Marvel Captain America) 25
S.H.I.E.L.D. Sentry (204B Marvel Captain America) 45
SHIELD Sniper (005 Marvel Sinister) 22
4x SHIELD Agent (006 Marvel Sinister) 29 x 4 = 116
=490 points and four re-rolls.

It was a long a painful game. I lost Captain America, Justice and Tony Stark, but I managed to kill enough S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents to won the game. Also Darren won his game against Adrian. For once I have the win lose tall and victory points score. Shown below. This might, hopefully be a standard part of the game reviews. Fingers crossed.

Darren W-497, W-490, W-451 = 3 Wins and 1438 points (First Place)
Robert L-85, W-451, W-356 = 2 Wins, 1 Lose and 892 (Second Place)
Adrian L-88, L-0, L-0 = 3 Loses and  88 points (Last Place)
Michael W-135, L-0, L-219 = 1 Win, 2 Loses and 354 points (Third Place)

Next week should be Batman Begins. 300 points, must have ever a rookie Batman or a Batman that is 50 point or less. Characters with names like The Dark Knight or Bruce Wayne are treated as Batman for this.
Now for this week's DreamClix section. This week I am doing ideas for Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat; Grey from Fairy Tail; a Deckman from Battle Angel Alita and Bell-mère from One Piece. But first I have designs of Death the Kid from Soul Eater, Zeff from One Piece, the Baratie team Ability and the road map for Ghost in the Shell.

Next is Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat. John Carlton, better known as Johnny Cage, is an action movie martial artist in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. He is one of the most recurring characters and one of the few original characters, debuting in the first Mortal Kombat arcade game. He originally entering the Mortal Kombat tournament to display his fighting skills and prove himself to skeptical movie critics and the movie-viewing public, who believed Cage was nothing more than an actor who relied too much on stunts and camera work and was not a real proficient fighter. Eventually, Cage becomes one of the most important defenders of Earthrealm. Though he occasionally lapses into his former selfish and materialistic ways, he has always been a brave and loyal warrior for Earthrealm. He should have Charge, Combat Reflexes, Combat Expert and a special called "Nutcracker".
Nutcracker: Johnny Cage can use Incapacitate. If he successfully hits with an Incapacitate attack, the target suffers a -1 to their Defence value.
He should have about five or six clicks of health and starting Combat Values of Speed 10, Attack 10, Defence 17, Damage 2 and Range 4 with one target. His team ability should be the Mortal Kombat one and his keywords should be Celebrity, Earthrealm and Martial Artist. The next other section idea should be Yuiko Hawatari from Loveless and the next Mortal Kombat idea should be Princess Kitana.

Next is Gray from Fairy Tail. Gray was from a village up in the North, but the entire village was destroyed by the demon Deliora. Gray's parents were killed in the incident as well. Lyon, along with Ur, a powerful ice Mage who Jellal claimed could have been one of the Ten Wizard Saints, came investigating Deliora's destruction, and found Gray alive among the ruins. Ur took Gray in as her second student and taught him and Lyon Ice Make Magic. Gray accepted the training in order to eventually avenge his deceased parents by killing Deliora using her unorthodox methods. Gray also inherited the unusual habit of stripping unconsciously from Ur. When Gray heard of Deliora's current location, he decided to challenge it, ignoring Ur and Lyon's warnings. Gray collapsed from battling Deliora and woke up to see Ur battling it. Ur told him to take Lyon and run. Gray carried Lyon and saw that Ur had lost her leg and replaced it with ice. Suddenly, Lyon woke up and tried to cast Iced Shell, but Ur stopped him by freezing him. She explained to Gray that Iced Shell was the only thing that would beat Deliora, and was surprised to know that Lyon had tried to do what she planned. She then used Iced Shell which caused her body to be destroyed. Before turning into ice, she made Gray promise to tell Lyon that she died and told him to step into the future, since she would seal his darkness. The next day, Lyon woke up and discovered Deliora encased in ice and Ur's sacrifice. He berated Gray for Ur's death and the two apprentices parted ways. Following Ur's advice to find strong wizards in the west, Gray arrived at Fairy Tail and asked the master for a way to reverse the effects of the Iced Shell. Makarov, however, told him that the only method that could possibly reverse it would kill Ur in the process. Gray first appears in the story when Natsu and Happy bring Lucy Heartfilia to Fairy Tail. He is sitting in his shorts, having forgotten to wear his clothes, and immediately gets into a fight with Natsu. He stops when Makarov orders them to do so and he gets scolded by him about his accidental nudity during his missions. He should have a trait called "Ice-Make Freeze", Incapacitate, Barrier, a special called "Ice-Make Shield" and Willpower.
Ice-Make Freeze: Give Gray a power action. Until the end of your next turn all water terrain with in six squares of Gray in classed as standard hindering instead of water terrain.
Ice-Make Shield: Gray can use Barrier. If Gray has no action tokens he can use his trait as a free action. If Gray has one or less action tokens he can use Toughness.
He should have about six clicks of health and starting Combat Values of Speed 8, Attack 10, Defence 18, Damage 2 and Range 5 with two targets. His team ability should be the Fairy Tail Guild one and his keywords should be Fairy Tail Guild and Mystic. The next Fairy Tail idea should be Makarov.

Next is a Deckman from Battle Angel Alita. A deckman is one of two types of cyborgs employed by the Factory, the other being the netman. They are responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the Factory, as no humans work directly for the Factory. Deckmen are shown working with the hunter-warriors, operating the Factory Railroad, and administering Factory Law. Cylindrical in shape, they have human brains which have been reconditioned to be stripped of any will, desires, or emotions. This makies them loyal and unquestioning servants of the Factory and ultimately, Tiphares. Deckmen are known by their numbers. They differ from each other in terms of facial appearance and have individual quirks in their speech. They use a system of linear tubes for transport. As their basic body is a cylinder, deckmen link to the system instruments, which provide their limbs. They should have a trait called "Operations", Stealth and Phasing.
Operations: At the beginning of a game roll a D6. The Deckman gain an ability depending on the roll for the rest of the game.
1. Probability Control
2. Perplex
3. Outwit
4. Enhance
5. Support
6. Leadership
They should have about three clicks of health and starting Combat Values of Speed 8, Attack 10, Defence 15, Damage 0 and Range 0. They should not have a team ability and their keywords should be Factory, Hunter-Warrior and Robot. The next Battle Angel Alita idea should be Izuchi.

Next is the chase of Bell-mère from One Piece. ire life, causing everyone to refer to her as a "thug". They cared deeply for her well being despite her reputation and when she choose to join the Marines were completely shocked by her sudden decision. Though they tried to convince her to change her mind, she was set on fighting "bad" pirates. It is unknown what her rank was exactly, but a flashback shows her in an officer's coat, indicating that it may have been fairly high up. One day she and fellow Marines were sent to an island to fight some pirates causing trouble there. The fight was bloody, leaving many dead and destroying the village which the two sides were fighting in. Bell-mère lay wounded and dying, she decided that it was alright to let herself die there and then. However just as she was giving up and letting herself go, Nojiko appeared carrying Nami. Bell-mère took the two back to her village (with Nami too young to be aware of what happened). Upon arrival, a storm had broken out over Bell-mère's home island and the two children had grown ill. She insisted the two girls get treatment before her. Later, after all three of them were better again, she asked the other villagers not to register the girls for adoption with the World Government. She declared (with many protests from the other villagers) that she was old and mature enough to look after the girls herself. Bell-mère lived on her tangerine grove in Cocoyasi Village on Konomi Islands with the girls. While Bell-mère had very little income, she gave everything to her girls and survived by eating the tangerines she grew. One day Bell-mère scolded Nami when she got caught stealing (Nami stole a book because she knew they could not afford it), shortly after Nami revealed to Bell-mère why she stole the book - she was studying navigation. Bell-mère applauded Nami's first drawing of the island as the first step of her dream to map the world and put faith into Nami that she really could do it. While Nami and Nojiko were growing up, Bell-mère advised them that they had to be as strong as boys, and if they survived, good times would come. In one year in which the price of tangerines fell due to a large supply, Bell-mère had to eat only tangerines and give most of the food to Nami and Nojiko, but did not let on how bad the situation was to Nojiko and Nami. One day Nami was given one of Nojiko's dresses by Bell-mère (who simply turned the sunflower on it into a lion) and Nami was offended. Nami wanted her own clothes not Nojiko's hand-me-downs. During the argument, Nami said she did not consider Nojiko a real sister because they were not blood related, causing Bell-mère to slap her. Nami then ran off, saying that she wished she were adopted by rich people. Bell-mère realized she was not acting like an adult back there, she decided to spare some money and prepare Nami's favorite meal even though it would hit her budget. She sent Nojiko to fetch her while she prepared the meal. That same day Arlong invaded the island and found her home, Bell-mère tried to fend them off but was quickly subdued. When asked for the fee needed to stay alive, it turned out all the money Bell-mère had would either save herself or her two daughters. Things likely would have been okay if she had followed Genzo's advice and paid for herself, as Arlong was unaware of their existence. However, Bell-mère declared the money was for her daughters, as she would rather die than not call herself a mother. To that end, Arlong shot her right in front of the eyes of her two adopted daughters, but not before Bell-mère apologized to Nami for not being richer, and not being able to buy the girls whatever they wanted, but the two insisted that it was not the case and urged her to stay alive. Before Arlong executed her, she told her girls "I love you." After her death, her advice that "If you can survive, then happy times... lots of them... will come your way" encourages Nami to work to buy Cocoyasi Village from Arlong, believing that once she freed the village, she could pursue her dream and find happiness. She should have a trait called "Protect My Children", Leadership, Indomitable, Toughness and Defend.
Protect My Children: Adjacent characters with the name Nami or Nojiko or Young Nami and Nojiko gain Mastermind, but can only Mastermind damage to Bell-mère regardless of points values.
She should have about six clicks of health and starting Combat Values of Speed 8, Attack 10, Defence 16 (which will go up to 18), Damage 2 and Range 6 with one target. She should not have a team ability and her keywords should be Marine, Civilian and Past. The next One Piece idea should be Dracule Mihawk.

Lastly is the DreamClix Dial Designs page update news. On Sunday I added Mobile Suit Gundam 00 to the DreamClix Dial Designs page. There should be at least an update to the page on Sunday. In this update will be first of two updates that will add Mobile Suit Gundam AGE to the page.

Well that is it for this week. Until next time, Mecha Up.
